Wednesday finds her brother, Pugsley, tied up in a locker and demands to know who put him there. Pugsley doesn't remember but after Wednesday touches him she gets a vision of the boys who bullied her brother. To punish them she takes two bags of piranhas to the pool where the boys were practicing water polo.

As she drops the piranhas into the pool Wednesday tells them "the only person who gets to torture my brother is me".

Answer: Nevermore Academy

The boy who was attacked by the piranhas released by Wednesday demanded that she be expelled from their school or he would bring charges of attempted murder against her. Morticia tells Wednesday this would look terrible on her record and Wednesday comically agrees saying that it means she failed to get the job done.

Wednesday's expulsion prompts her mother and father, Morticia and Gomez, to send her to Nevermore Academy, a school for individuals with special powers. Although it's not explicitly stated in the first episode, the name of the school is likely a reference to the Edgar Alan Poe short story "The Raven" in which the title character says the word 'nevermore' numerous times.

Answer: The nursery line "Wednesday's child is full of woe"

Principal Weems used to be a roommate of Morticia Addams at Nevermore Academy when they were both students. When Wednesday is introduced to her, Principal Weems asks if she was born on a Wednesday. Wednesday tells her that she was born on Friday the 13th and Morticia tells Principal Weems that she was named after the nursery line "Wednesday's child was full of woe".

The aforementioned line is from the nursery rhyme "Monday's Child" which was first published in 1838 and for each day of the week a child is described as having a certain attribute.

Answer: Enid Sinclair

Enid Sinclair is Wednesday's new roommate at Ophelia Hall at Nevermore Academy. Enid decorates the room with lots of color which Wednesday says that she is allergic to. Enid writes a blog where she describes people and events at Nevermore Academy.

Answer: Social media

Wednesday's roommate, Enid, tells her that she needs to get on Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok. Wednesday then tells Enid what she really thinks about social media. Enid describes to Wednesday that at the school there are four groups: the Fangs, Furs, Stoners and Scales.

Answer: A disembodied hand

As they are leaving, Morticia gives Wednesday a piece of jewelry with a 'W' that flips over to an 'M' (their initials) as well as a crystal ball. Gomez releases a disembodied, mobile hand out of their car and states that now they will be able to monitor Wednesday through it.

As fans of prior shows and films based on the "Addams Family" know, the disembodied hand is called Thing. Later in the episode Wednesday compels Thing to pledge loyalty to her.

Answer: Black dahlia

Ms. Thornhill is played by the actress Christina Ricci who had previously starred as Wednesday Addams in the films "The Addams Family" (1991) and its sequel, "Addams Family Values" (1993). Wednesday is very appreciative of the black dahlia given to her by Ms. Thornhill because it shares its name with her favorite unsolved murder.

After seeing Bianca defeat a weaker opponent and confidently demand a worthy opponent Wednesday picks up her epee to have a fencing match against Bianca. They are tied in points one-to-one and Wednesday invokes military rules stating "no masks no tips, winner draws first blood." Bianca ends up winning by cutting Wednesday's face and then she comments that surprisingly Wednesday bleeds red rather than black and white.

Answer: The lead character from Wednesday's novels.

Wednesday has written three teen girl novels featuring Viper de la Muerte. Viper is described as smart, perceptive and chronically misunderstood. Although her writing is great, the novels are not published as the editor finds them too morbid.

Answer: Stone gargoyle

In classic Wednesday Addams fashion, rather than thank Xavier for saving her from the stone gargoyle that almost flattened her, she berates him for getting involved. Both Wednesday and Xavier have minor injuries due to being knocked down to avoid getting hit.
