Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the beginning of Chapter 6, which character goes berserk and begins destroying the school and the grounds?

Answer: Keebo

Keebo claims that he can no longer hear his "inner voice" that guided him from the beginning of the game. In a desperate attempt to end the Killing Game, Keebo goes on a rampage and fights the newly resurrected Monokubs in their exisals. He will also destroy parts of the school in order to give his friends access to previously blocked areas.
2. Kokichi's Monokub pad reveals that he is the leader of a terrorist organization.

Answer: False

After Keebo blows up the entrance to Kokichi's lab, Shuichi and Maki are shocked at what they find. Kokichi was the Ultimate Supreme Leader and he claimed this was of an evil organization. However, the items in Kokichi's lab suggest otherwise. Maki retrieves Kokichi's Monokub pad from his dorm room.

While the introduction confirms Kokichi as the Ultimate Supreme Leader, the group he leads is actually nothing more than a band of harmless pranksters.
3. In Rantaro's lab, there are two locks to a safe. One of the clues to open the locks is "Twins B". What is the other?

Answer: Horse A

After the first execution, Gonta found a tile in the courtyard that had the word "Horse" and the letter "A" scribbled on it. Over the course of the game, more letters were added until the tile spelt out "The world is mine, Kokichi Oma". The additional letters were a prank but the original "Horse A" was actually a clue to the safe in Rantaro's lab.

In that lab, there were two large wheels that locked a safe. Wheel A had to be turned to the Horse dial while Wheel B had to be turned to the symbol Gemini for Twins.
4. What is Rantaro's Ultimate Talent?

Answer: Ultimate Survivalist

In the safe in Rantaro's lab, Shuichi and Himiko discover another Ehandbook, this one with a video from Rantaro apparently to himself. He explains that he must survive the Killing Game at all costs and has already survived a previous Killing Game. This gave him the title of Ultimate Survivalist which apparently came with a few perks the other students were unaware of.
5. Which item, found in the mastermind's hidden lair, is proof that Kaede did not kill Rantaro?

Answer: Survivor Pad

Keebo blows up the entrance to the mastermind's lair behind the bookcase in the library that has been locked since the first chapter. Inside, the group discovers a shot put covered in blood. This is not the same shot put that was found beside Rantaro body and it has a pink string from Kaede's sweater on it. Shuichi reasons that the shot put that Kaede sent down the vent to kill who she thought was the mastermind, actually missed Rantaro.

They also find a Survivor Pad, one of Rantaro's special perks. Shuichi logs on and sees a map of the school including the secret room behind the bookcase. However, the Survivor Pad was not found on Rantaro's body and it should have been since he was carrying it when he died. The only possible explanation is that the mastermind, aware of Kaede's plan, watched the original plot fail. He or she exited the secret lair, killed Rantaro with their own shot put and switched the weapons and took the Survivor Pad. The mastermind must have been in that room at the time of Rantaro's death.
6. Himiko is able to escape being trapped in the mastermind's lair because of a hidden passageway that leads to where?

Answer: The girls' bathroom

Himiko decides to remain behind in the mastermind's secret room to explore further while everyone else goes to another location. However, the fight between Keebo and the exisals escalates and debris comes crashing down. This blocks Himiko in the secret room.

However, Himiko finds a secret way out through a long passageway that concludes in the janitor's closet of the girls' bathroom on the first floor.
7. In a second-floor classroom, Shuichi finds a machine that can do what?

Answer: Create flashback lights

Keebo said he saw something odd from a far in a second-floor classroom. Shuichi investigates and finds a machine that creates the flashback lights. Interestingly, the machine seems to be able to create different memories based on information the user inputs including different memories for the same scenario. The machine only works when the door is closed.
8. In the cold storage room off of Kaito's lab, there is a list of students that indicates which character has a twin?

Answer: Kaede

Shuichi and Tsumugi investigate the cold storage area of Kaito's lab. It was in this room where the students where frozen until they found a new colony in space to live on. However, Monokuma arrived, unfrozen them and began the Killing Game.

Tsumugi finds a list of passengers and says that Kaede had a twin sister. This is the first mention of a twin and Tsumugi notes that Junko Enoshima, who started the first Killing Game, also had a twin sister who aided in her quest.
9. Who killed Rantaro?

Answer: Tsumugi

Tsumugi is the only possible person who could have killed Rantaro. By her own admission, she was in the girls' bathroom when the murder happened. Since the girls' bathroom is connected to the secret room, she had the opportunity to kill Rantaro to get the Killing Game going. She took advantage of the gaps between the camera flashes so she would not be caught in a photo.

Tsumugi admits this and declares herself not only the Mastermind but also a member of Team Danganronpa.
10. The piece of hair that fell off Keebo's head was actually his what?

Answer: Antenna

Tsumugi confesses that everything the group was told is a complete lie. From their talents, names, pasts and backstory involving the meteors and virus, nothing was true. In reality, the students are nothing more than average teenagers who were disenchanted with their lives and obsessed with a popular reality show called "Danganronpa" which was a Killing Game. Tsumugi is a member of the production team masquerading as a student contestant in order to make sure everything goes swimmingly.

Keebo is not a student, however, but a TV camera. The piece of hair (called an ahoge in Japanese) was actually an antenna the show's audience used to give Keebo commands. He is, essentially, a stand in for the audience.
11. What does the V stand for in the title of the game, "Danganronpa V3"?

Answer: The number 5

Tsumugi reveals that not only are the students participating on a reality TV series they allegedly signed up for, but this is actually the 53rd season of the popular "Danganronpa" show. The 52 volumes of murders in Shuichi's lab were cases from the previous seasons of the show.

Not only is this Killing Game purely for entertainment, but the Killing Games in the first two games in the franchise were also the same thing. Tsumugi explains all of this by cosplaying mostly as Junko but quickly going back and forth between every student from those first two games. None of those people were real. They were only characters whose lives were completely made up. There is no Hope's Peak Academy or Ultimate Despair outside of the TV show. Tsumugi even claims that she scripted everything that happened, even down to the students' inner thoughts and love interests.
12. If the group chooses Hope, the mastermind will be executed and two of the remaining four players will have to participate in the next Killing Game. If the group chooses Despair, who will be executed?

Answer: Keebo

Tsumugi tells the students they have to pick between hope and despair. If they side with Keebo and pick Hope, Tsumugi will execute herself but two of the four remaining students must participate in the next Killing Game, just Rantaro did.

However, they can side with Despair and Tsumugi will execute Keebo. Maki, Himiko and Shuichi will not graduate and the Killing Game will continue with those three and Tsumugi. However, there will not be any more murders because the secret has been exposed and lost all potency. The four of them will in the school forever.
13. Which two characters agree to spare their friends' lives and participate in the next Killing Game?

Answer: Keebo and Maki

Both Keebo and Maki are willing to sacrifice themselves to save Himiko and Shuichi. They want Hope to prevail over Despair and want Tsumugi punished for running several Killing Games. However, neither Himiko nor Shuichi is willing to sacrifice Keebo or Maki for themselves.
14. In the battle between Hope and Despair, Shuichi urges the group to pick which one?

Answer: Neither

Shuichi refuses to pick Hope because Hope is what kept the Killing Game going for all these years. The audience loves seeing Hope prevail over Despair but that only leads to more disturbing Killing Games so Hope can prevail once again.

Shuichi encourages his friends to simply not vote for either Hope or Despair. This will create an uninteresting show so the viewers will lose interest. "Danganonpa" will be canceled. However, it is against the rules not to vote at a class trial and the punishment is death. By not voting, the students can end the Killing Game for real but it will cost them their lives. Shuichi says they don't even know what their lives are any way so they can give them up to spare others the same fate.
15. How many of the original sixteen students who participated in the Killing Game survive until the end?

Answer: Three

None of the students vote at the class trial. Shuichi convinces Himiko and Maki not to vote. Tsumugi also decides not to vote because it will cause more Despair to have the only vote come from Keebo whose vote for Hope will continue to the Killing Game. Tsumugi loves "Danganronpa" so much, she is willing to sacrifice her life to see it continue. However, the audience has tuned out by this point and don't tell Keebo how to vote. Keebo abstains.

All five students must be executed. Keebo once again goes berserk and blows up the school. A boulder falls on Tsumugi and Monokuma, killing them. Keebo then activates his self-destruct mode. Himiko, Maki and Shuichi are spared. As Shuichi realizes, the audience likely told Keebo not to kill them.

The three prepare to exit the dome and reintegrate into the real world that they know nothing about. Shuichi theorizes that, while they may have been on a television show, Tsumugi may have been lying about everything.
