Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In order to access this DLC, the player must locate an item. What item is needed to unlock this DLC?

Answer: Dragon Talon

The Dragon Talon will be taken out of the player's inventory after every playthrough, mandating that the player gets it each time they want to go to this DLC in a new playthrough.
2. Where is the key to this DLC located?

Answer: Majula

Traveling down the hole in Majula and making sure to drop in on a wooden platform with a tall black ladder going up will lead to the Dragon Talon. There is a locked door in front of it that requires the Forgotten Key to open it, and this key can be found at the Black Gulch.

It isn't supposed to be possible to drop or otherwise lose the Dragon Talon in any way. However, if the player has a completely full inventory of 2,000 individual items, they cannot take anymore, and this will cause the Dragon Talon to appear on the ground as loot. If, for whatever reason, the player loses the Dragon Talon like in that scenario, or in any other way, it will be placed inside a treasure chest at the Majula Mansion. This was done as a fail safe so that the player couldn't end up paying for a DLC only to be left completely unable to access it.
3. Once the player reaches the DLC's first bonfire, they'll find themselves beset upon by an army of Shulva Soldiers, who make up a common enemy throughout the DLC. Interestingly, where most enemies' entire armor sets could potentially be looted, only one piece of the Shula Soldier set is actually obtainable. Which piece is this?

Answer: Gauntlets

The Sanctum Soldier Gauntlets are indispensable for players who have decided to heavily use Poison in their build. This is because these Gauntlets have a secondary effect of adding Poison build up on top of other Poison the player already had, making it easier to ultimately Poison enemies.
4. With a spare Firebomb or two and a watchful eye, the player can earn a very eccentric, novel Hex, Promised Walk of Peace. When cast, what does Promised Walk of Peace do?

Answer: Prevent all nearby units from moving quickly

For ten seconds after cast, all units within a moderate distance of the caster cannot run nor can they roll. They can still attack and they can still walk. They can also use ranged attacks, attacks which will be easier to land against what would and could essentially be a completely defenseless target.
5. There is a long bridge leading into the Dragon's Sanctum. There are three fierce looking enemies guarding the bridge. On only the player's first time crossing, however, these enemies cannot attack them. Why is this?

Answer: They are quickly killed first

Upon stepping just in front of the bridge when crossing for the first time, Sinh the Slumbering Dragon will make a grand appearance by setting the bridge ablaze with his fire breath and immediately killing these enemies, before flying away.
6. The Cave of the Dead features our first boss of the area, against a trio fight at that. These curiously dressed graverobbers appear to be disguising themselves as some very important names. Who is one of them?

Answer: Havel the Rock

Ancient Soldier Varg is found with a complete cosplay of Havel the Rock, with each piece of Havel's set, Havel's signature weapon in the Dragon Tooth, and Havel's Greatshield. Cerah the Old Explorer has dressed up as Lucatiel of Mirrah, but does not fight with Lucatiel's weapons, instead using a Dragonslayer Greatbow and a Rapier. Finally, the Afflicted Graverobber is seen dressed as Alva, Seeker of the Spurned.
7. What is the reward for taking down the boss of the Cave of the Dead?

Answer: Upgrade materials

One Titanite Slab, three Twinkling Titanite and three Petrified Dragon Bones are dropped by them on defeat.
8. Moving through the Dragon's Sanctum, the player can find a small room with three treasure chests. These chests contain the full armor set of a beloved fan favorite "onion knight" of "Dark Souls 1". Whose armor set can be found here?

Answer: Siegmeyer of Catarina

The entire Catarina armor set is found here. Though inferior to the Havel's set in terms of weight efficiency, this set still provides excellent defensive value, on top of maximizing fashion.
9. Sanctum Knights are different from their Soldier brethren, in that they are fully immune to Physical, extremely resistant to all Elemental damage and cannot be locked on to. This, of course, can be changed-- how?

Answer: Destroying their corpses

All around the area, these enemies have coffins where their bodies lie. Destroying these bodies will take the ethereal form of the Sanctum Knights are restore their living flesh to them, making them now vulnerable to damage and allowing the player to properly lock on to them.
10. Right before entering the Lair of the Imperfect, a previously friendly NPC will invade the player. Who does this?

Answer: Jester Thomas

Thomas, like when he aided the player in fighting Mytha the Baneful Queen, comes packed with powerful Pyromancies and two Estus Flasks. Plus, he has Warmth as one of his spells, so he can further heal himself in that way. He is a difficult assailant, and sadly does not drop anything on defeat.
11. The Lair of the Imperfect offers a rare opportunity to farm for one upgrade material. What do the Imperfect uncommonly drop?

Answer: Petrified Dragon Bones

On defeat, these creatures have a 10% chance to drop a Petrified Dragon Bone. Off of just natural drops alone, it is not possible to max out more than one single Boss soul weapon, so this can prove useful if the player did want to use multiple of them.
12. Elana, the Squalid Queen makes up our second boss of this DLC. Her main gimmick is the ability to 'summon' help, and this extends all the way towards allowing her to summon another boss outright to help her. Which boss can tag team with her here?

Answer: Velstadt, the Royal Aegis

Velstadt has roughly half the HP he has in his own boss fight, and his armor is noticeably shinier than it is during his own fight. He moves slightly slower, but is able to attack slightly faster. He is the only solo summon Elana can bring, as her two other options come in packs.

Therefore, when seeing only a single unit actively being summoned, the player will immediately know that Velstadt is inbound.
13. Benhart of Jugo is one of two options for NPC help to deal with Elana the Squalid Queen. His questline requires the player to summon him for three separate boss fights and ensure his survival until the boss is defeated. Does this boss fight count towards Benhart's questline?

Answer: No

DLC bosses do not count towards NPC questlines. Any item picked up from a DLC may not be used to interact with an NPC in anyway, either. This was likely to prevent a disparity in terms of general base gameplay between people who purchased the DLC and people who did not, preventing those who did from having an upper hand in things such as finishing Benhart's questline. Likewise, the penalty to his questline that would normally be enacted by his death will not come to pass here, so the player doesn't have to stress over keeping him alive if they choose to summon him.
14. Sinh the Slumbering Dragon is the final boss of this DLC. Unlike most dragons, he has a unique weak spot. Which area of his body will do extra damage if struck?

Answer: Neck

Yorgh's Spear has been lodged into Sinh's neck, and the player will deal twice the normal damage if they strike the part where the spear protrudes.
15. The game's lore states that Sir Yorgh initially attacked Sinh so that he could take Sinh's blood. What happened to Sir Yorgh?

Answer: He was killed

Simply put, Sinh absolutely smoked Yorgh and killed his very easily, but not before Yorgh was at least able to impale Sinh's neck with his own spear. Yorgh's corpse is found inside Sinh's boss room, evidence that this conflict took place.
