The game "12 Labours of Hercules" initially debuted in 2013, asking players to help the legendary hero rebuild ancient Greece. His wife Megara, although a target in the first game, quickly becomes a playable character and efficient assistant throughout the rest of the series.
She is vital for handling specialized, magical, or delicate tasks that other laborers cannot manage. She is often there (once her path is cleared away) to plant and water enchanted seeds or to make skillful use of ancient artifacts.
2. Incredible Dracula
Answer: Zombies
The funny time management series "Incredible Dracula" officially debuted in 2015, with its first title, "Chasing Love". In this franchise, Dracula isn't a terrifying monster. Instead, he is a stressed out vampire just trying to run his kingdom. His primary assistants are a bunch of green, small zombie workers.
While Dracula himself handles the specialized magical tasks on the map, these frantic little guys handle the heavy infrastructure work. They are responsible for gathering resources, clearing pesky giant spiderwebs, repairing the paths and bridges, and building wacky food stands like "Blood Donald's" to keep the kingdom running.
3. Rescue Team
Answer: Dogs
The fast paced PC time management game "Rescue Team" officially made its debut in May of 2011, putting players in charge of a disaster response squad who has to rebuild devastated geographic areas after catastrophic weather strikes (and evil shenanigans).
While the human engineers and medics focus on repairing broken infrastructure, putting out fires, and clearing debris, the highly trained rescue dogs serve as the powerful assistants in other ways. These specialized canine helpers are the only ones capable of sniffing out and pulling trapped, injured civilians safely from collapsed buildings and heavy mountain rubble so they can receive medical attention.
They do all this, of course, if the player feeds them doggy bones!
4. New Yankee In King Arthur's Court
Answer: The Raven
The time traveling (and time management) PC series "New Yankee in King Arthur's Court" first made its debut in 2011. A guy named John was sent back in time via a freak lightning strike. While later sequels heavily feature his magical wife Mary, the games quickly introduced an incredibly important feathered assistant known as the wise raven.
This clever bird is vital for scouting the cartoonish medieval maps, retrieving rare floating runes and jewels, activating magical artifacts, and occasionally delivering urgent messages to King Arthur's court when the roads are completely blocked by various living (and undead) obstacles.
5. Delicious: Emily
Answer: Francois
The PC time management franchise "Delicious: Emily" (almost a story unto itself) originally launched in mid 2006. It features a young waitress and eventual restaurant owner named Emily and asks the players to help her quickly cook dishes and serve various customers.
While Emily works the kitchen and rings up the bills, her fiercely loyal best friend Francois steps up as the ultimate assistant. On the frantic restaurant floor, Francois, clumsy but lovable, is vital for performing the crucial tasks that keep the operation running, primarily cleaning up messy tables after customers leave and entertaining waiting patrons to prevent them from losing their patience and storming out.
6. Build-a-Lot
Answer: Inspectors
The real estate PC time management game "Build-a-Lot" officially appeared in April of 2007. It shifted the time management genre away from fantasy maps and into the world of property strategy, neighborhood zoning, and house flipping. While regular workers do the physical labor of building and painting structures, the inspectors serve as as key assistants and primary financial shields.
They are vital for performing mandatory, routine maintenance on the rental properties and rushing to the scene when a house begins to smoke and structurally fail. Using them strategically is a major gameplay priority, as a single neglected building will stop paying rent entirely and quickly drag down the property value of the entire block.
7. Moai
Answer: Shamans
The PC time management game series called "Moai" debuted in 2013, tasking players with helping a stranded hero lead an ancient island tribe and restore their ruined tropical paradise. While the standard, hard working native villagers do the heavy lifting of gathering bananas, farming fields, and building traditional huts, the mystical shamans act as the ultimate assistants.
These highly specialized spiritual helpers are the only ones capable of channeling ancient magic to dispel dark curses from corrupted soil, heal diseased resource buildings, and engage in rituals to banish aggressive ghosts and those spells that literally freeze workers in their tracks.
8. Northern Tale
Answer: Mystical druids
The Norse inspired PC time management game "Northern Tale" arrived in the beginning of 2013. It featured a brave Viking king named Ragnar who must rebuild his beautiful kingdom after a ruthless witch drains the life and color from the land. While fellow Viking warriors clear heavy boulders, chop down trees, and repair standard village huts, the mystical druids serve as the ultimate environmental assistants. Clad in flowing robes, these specialized folks are the only ones capable of channeling nature's energy to heal the dull landscape and corrupted trees, purify toxic marshes, and dissolve the dark, glowing root barriers left behind by the evil witches and warlocks.
9. Alicia Quatermain
Answer: Geologists
The PC time management game series "Alicia Quatermain" made its action packed debut in 2017. It sends players on an archaeological race around the world to find legendary artifacts and solve a family mystery. While Alicia leads the expedition and her guides clear thick jungle vines and repair bridges, the highly specialized geologists are the elite assistants.
These experts are the only ones capable of safely defusing and clearing the glowing magic crystals that block crucial pathways, as well as mining rare subterranean veins to secure the expensive gemstones needed to fund the expedition.
10. Adelantado
Answer: Soldiers
The historical PC time management game series called "Adelantado" began in 2012. It asked players to lead Don Diego de Leon's expedition deep into the uncharted jungles of the New World. While the Spanish laborers do the tedious work of foraging for berry bushes, chopping timber, and repairing native settlements, the armored soldiers serve as indispensable assistants.
These specialized military units are the only ones capable of fighting off aggressive wild jaguars, breaking through hostile barricades, and clearing out dangerous cavemen (yes, cavemen) encampments that completely blockade exploration routes.
