Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Through what means was Bayle graphically designed?

Answer: Professionally designed by adult humans

At launch, promotional art of Bayle depicted him in a situation where fans were quick to point out that one of his hands errantly bore six fingers. Socially, this had become one of the telltale signs indicating that artificial intelligence was used to design the character. A significant portion of the game's fanbase expressed concern that Bayle had been handled in this way.

However, months down the road, Omeda Studios would finally publicly comment on the perception that generative artificial intelligence was used to create Bayle. In doing so, the notion that he was designed with AI was thoroughly disproven, as a step-by-step process on how Bayle was designed was showcased. Bayle was mainly designed through the use of Unreal Engine.
2. Bayle is a big, burly, arguably generic swordsman. As such, he is recommended for two fairly straightforward roles that promote close quarters melee play. What is one role Bayle is recommended for by Omeda Studios?

Answer: Offlane

Bayle's profile as a whole is very comparable to Greystone's. Both are melee swordsman who are quite tanky and have good mobility. Bayle is less susceptible to Magic damage than Greystone is, though Greystone handles Physical much better to compensate.

Much like Greystone, Bayle is also recommended for the Jungle as well. He has solid mobility, melee capabilities and even a little bit of range. As such, much like the Offlane, Bayle fits Jungle in the most straightforward way possible.

Though he actually does have some semblance of crowd control, Bayle is not recommended for the Support role. His kit is much more geared towards self efficacy than it is protecting and/or setting someone else up for a kill, which is what Supports do. Though you could do worse than Bayle at Support, you can also do far, far better.
3. Bayle's Passive is known as Berserk, the title almost definitely a tip of Omeda Studio's cap to Bayle's obvious inspiration. When Bayle reaches low health, this Passive activates. What is one benefit Bayle receives when Berserk triggers?

Answer: Added Attack Speed

The specific bonus granted is based on Bayle's level, naturally being greater the higher level Bayle is. In addition to added Attack Speed, Bayle also receives buffs to his movement speed and gains 30% Tenacity. Because Tenacity itself hard caps at 40%, the 30% Tenacity gained remains consistent regardless of Bayle's level.

As such, where other characters may shy away from engagements when they are low, Bayle arguably should be the exception. While players shouldn't completely turn their brains off, Berserk can turn the tide in a 1v1 that is slightly favoring the opponent.

Because of how Berserk works, the Salvation item and Cursed Scroll item are extremely heavily recommended for Bayle to purchase. The former offers a protective shield when the buyer reaches low health, while the latter offers ridiculous benefits at the expense of a drawback that makes it likelier the buyer will reach low health. These two items boast pretty amazing synergy with Berserk, and are classified as Fighter items to boot, so they fit Bayle like a mitten.
4. Bayle's Alternate Ability is Skull Crusher. For the most part, this is a pretty basic 'jump' maneuver where Bayle will simply perform a large leap at a target location. However, it uniquely grants Bayle some benefits if the target location happens to be directly atop an enemy player. If Skull Crusher-ing directly atop an enemy player, what happens?

Answer: Bayle gets Movement Speed

Additionally, whomever he just landed on will experience a significant Armor Shred for several seconds. Paired with the Movement Speed buff, and the intent is pretty clear: Bayle should use Skull Crusher to jump directly on top of an enemy, then use the benefits conveyed from doing so to try and take them on.

As a Jungler, Bayle can readily ambush foes by landing atop them with Skull Crusher. This is still possible as an Offlaner, but is less likely as the enemy would clearly see Bayle coming and, if desired, could make requisite distance to get out of Skull Crusher's range.

Even if not landing atop someone though, Skull Crusher still functions as a useful jump to offer Bayle helpful mobility.
5. Bayle's Primary Ability is Cursed Edge. This actually gives Bayle something to distinguish himself from Greystone, by giving him a projectile. This projectile offers some utility, too. Foes hit by Cursed Edge will have what applied to them?

Answer: Stun

The Stun is only momentary, but the projectile itself pierces, so it can Stun multiple foes at once. It's a useful poking tool for Offlane Bayle during laning phase, but it's also perfectly useful during general fights in any situation too.

Cursed Edge features Bayle fire three projectiles. If all three hit, the third will do extra damage.
6. Dire Howl is Bayle's Secondary Ability. He will shout a battle cry on use and gain some benefits while Dire Howl is active. When Dire Howl deactivates though, Bayle still benefits. What does Dire Howl do once it deactivates?

Answer: Heal Bayle

The healing done is a fraction of all damage Bayle took while the ability was active. While Dire Howl is active, Bayle will gain some Attack Power and Omni-Vamp too. As such, this functions as a self-buff Bayle can use right as he gets into a fight with an enemy player.
7. Kingslayer is Bayle's Ultimate Ability. When using it, Bayle will halt his movement briefly before dashing forward until he reaches an enemy player. What happens to this player when Bayle reaches them?

Answer: They are Knocked Up

If you've ever played "Smash Bros" and used Ike's Final Smash, this is basically the exact same thing; Bayle will uppercut his victim into the sky, fly up to meet them, and he will then basically proceed to savagely beat the tar out of them while airborne.

Unlike Ike however, Bayle is not invincible while doing this. It is difficult to hit him, as he will be quite high in the sky. However, there are ways.

If Bayle uses Kingslayer under an enemy's tower, the tower will be able to shoot Bayle even in the sky, and could easily kill him here.

If Greystone activates Make Way, and then gets hit by Bayle's Kingslayer, it is possible for Make Way to kill Bayle and immediately release Greystone from the Kingslayer.

If there is an enemy Murdock with his Long Arm of the Law handy, Murdock could shoot Bayle right out of the sky with it, as this Ultimate has infinite range and pierces all terrain.

That said, these are extremely situational occurrences, so Bayle is very unlikely to get killed mid-Kingslayer.
8. Bayle can pick one of three Hero Augments. First up is Betrayer's Requiem, giving an interesting benefit to Kingslayer. What can Kingslayer now do with Betrayer's Requiem?

Answer: Hit multiple enemies

Ordinarily, Kingslayer can only hit one enemy. With Betrayer's Requiem, any and all players which Bayle hits with Kingslayer will now get the brunt of the ability. Additionally, its cooldown in general will also be noticeably reduced.

Clearly, this has excellent potential for a team fight. Not only can Bayle pummel the bejesus out of more enemies, but in doing so, he can briefly straight up remove enemies from team fights and briefly create an advantageous numbers situation for his team. As such, this Augment has strong potential.
9. Swift Strikes profiles as Bayle's second Augment. It is a quirky choice to be certain. After casting an Ability, what benefit does Bayle's next Basic Attack receive?

Answer: Added Attack Speed

The quirky aspect of this is that it also causes the third hit of Bayle's Basic Attack combo, to become the first instead. Ordinarily, Bayle swings his sword from left to right and right to left for the first two hits, then swings the sword downward. Through this Augment, the downward swing becomes the first hit, followed by left to right and right to left. The downside is that the downward swing will now deal much less damage through this Augment.

Sadly, this Augment sucks pretty badly. The changeup in how Bayle delivers his hits is advertised as a benefit for some reason, when it realistically isn't. The downside of the third hit dealing less damage is highly unappreciated, and is not compensated by this swing being faster.
10. Frenzied Fighter is Bayle's third Augment. This impacts Berserk, but how?

Answer: Cooldown Removal

Ordinarily, Berserk has a twenty second cooldown. Through Frenzied Fighter, it no longer has any sort of cooldown or duration, allowing Bayle to remain in Berserk infinitely until he heals above the threshold to trigger it.

Players who want to take advantage of items like Cursed Scroll or Salvation absolutely will be choosing this Augment. It has amazing synergy with a strategy like that, as Bayle's Berserk will never turn off, letting the player abuse those items as thoroughly as possible.

That said, even if not designing a strategy catering to Berserk, Frenzied Fighter remains a strong choice in giving Bayle the edge needed to be a force during team fights.
