Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Legion claims to be "the best" smugly as he hoists his assault rifle. With his AR, what role has Omeda Studios recommended him for?

Answer: Carry

Legion is about the most straightforward candidate for the role as could be. Wielding an assault rifle, Legion packs the ranged damage output needed to thrive in the role. That said, Legion is absolutely not generic. Legion became the second hero, joining Revenant, to ever have a reload mechanic tied to his armament. By default, every fifteen shots, Legion must spend 1.5 seconds reloading. As well, just like Revenant in addition to Eden, Legion attacks at a fixed speed; Attack Speed items do absolutely nothing for him, neither will the enemy's attempts at reducing his Attack Speed. This ultimately prompts Legion players into building him way, way differently than you might build, say, Sparrow.

Possessing no innate mobility whatsoever, Legion is like his fellow Carry characters in that he makes a very poor choice for the Offlane. He has well-defined weaknesses which are covered up adequately by an allied Support, justifying his recommendation to only the Carry role and nothing else.
2. Legion has an assault rifle to hand, but as his kit will show, the Empire sent him equipped to the teeth with other weaponry. What is Legion's highest stat?

Answer: Basic Attack Power

Being a Carry, both Legion's Durability and Mobility are unsurprisingly poor, receiving scores of 3 and 2 respectively. While Legion's multi-faceted kit is reflected by a respectable 5 for Ability Power, ultimately the Basic Attacks fired by that meaty assault rifle wield the most potential, with a score of 8.
3. Legion's Passive is known as Ballistic Callibration. This is an extremely complex Passive, but the very first sentence highlights the most important aspect. Legion's Attack Speed can never be raised or lowered. If the player or an ally tries to raise, or a foe tries to lower it, it impacts a different stat entirely. Raising or lowering Legion's Attack Speed will raise/lower which other stat of his?

Answer: Ability Haste

The conversion rate is not very favorable; for every 1 Attack Speed Legion receives, instead of attacking faster, he gains 0.75 Ability Haste. So if the player builds 40 Attack Speed on him, they will instead receive 30 Ability Haste. Since Ability Haste hard caps at 50, building Attack Speed would quickly run into a hard wall, as it would only take three items or, half of one's six item build, to achieve max Ability Haste.

This, ultimately, is the biggest reason why Legion must be built very, very differently compared to a more traditional Carry, such as Sparrow or Kira. Sparrow and Kira can build Attack Speed forever and ever and constantly feel the benefit of attacking faster. As established, Legion cannot, so he will definitely not want the same Attack Speed items that Sparrow or Kira would want.
4. Legion's Alternate Ability is Frag Order. The title may be flashy, but it just involves Legion throwing a frag grenade at a target location. Interestingly, this Ability has a unique function if Legion pulls out a grenade, begins to cook it, but is then killed or afflicted with the Stun status. What happens if either of these happen while Legion is cooking a grenade?

Answer: He drops the grenade

Legion became the first hero in all of Predecessor to be capable of having an Ability activate even upon death. Granted, if Legion is killed from a distance, this will mean basically nothing. But if Legion is killed or stunned up close, the target will almost certainly get hit by the grenade.

This may not seem too consequential, but it does makes diving atop a Legion who is under his tower a little more treacherous than against most Carry characters.
5. Legion's Primary Ability is Saturation Charge. This reveals an underbarreled function within his assault rifle, letting Legion fire a cluster of ten small grenades at a target location. On hit, these grenades afflict a status. What status is it?

Answer: Slow

While this tool can deal significant damage if all ten grenades hit, the main point is the accompanying Slow effect. Saturation Charge pierces units, so the idea is to try and fire Saturation Charge behind Legion's target, advance towards said target to initiate a conflict, then hopefully cause them to step backward into the cluster, Slowing them and making it harder for them to evade or escape Legion's ensuing attacks.

Notably and astoundingly, Saturation Charge actually completely ignores Steel's Force Shield. The rest of Legion's kit does not sadly, so there is not too much playmaking potential to be had off Saturation Charge ignoring the Force Shield. But still, not many projectiles, even some Ultimates, can penetrate Force Shield. Legion being a Carry and Steel being a Support means a Legion vs Steel scenario is very likely to happen eventually.
6. Legion's Secondary Ability is called Rally Point. Legion plants a giant flag down, creates a huge aura that benefits him and any of his allies who step into it. What is one benefit gained stepping into an allied Legion's Rally Point?

Answer: Heal over time

Anyone allied to Legion who stands in an active Rally Point gains a minor bonus to their Movement Speed and heals for an amount based on Legion's Physical Power over time.

For Legion himself, his assault rifle normally must be reloaded every fifteen shots. However, under the Rally Point, Legion gains infinite ammo and does not have to reload as long as the Rally Point stands.
7. Legion's Ultimate Ability is Orbital Sanction, featuring Legion call down an orbital strike from the sky. The intended way for opponents to counterplay and/or evade the laser comes from listening to one of a few very specific voice lines Legion gives off right before the orbital strike occurs. What is one quote Legion will say as he casts Orbital Sanction?

Answer: "You're in violation of Imperial law..."

He will finish this specific liner with "...hold for orbital!" right before the orbital strike occurs.

Truthfully, most characters who have some means of mobility can jump or dash away from the spot the strike is called. So the counterplay to it is really straightforward. That said, it really prompts Legion's opponents to be extremely careful with how they utilize their cooldown sensitive movement options around him. If their movement is on cooldown and Legion utilizes Orbital Sanction, the target is almost definitely going to eat a ton of damage, if not die outright, from the orbital alone.
8. Like all characters, Legion has three potential Hero Augments to choose from. The first choice is Press The Advantage. This enhances Rally Point and slightly changes how it works. It will no longer heal Legion and allies, instead granting them all what?

Answer: Attack Speed

This is the one and only way possible to make Legion's gun actually fire faster. The way it's worded is that it enhances his "Rate of Fire" rather than "Attack Speed", even if the impact is functionally the exact same. As for Legion's allies, they will gain a straightforward bonus to their Attack Speed under Rally Point, should Legion have Press The Advantage for an Augment.

Additionally, if Legion kills or records an assist on an enemy, Press The Advantage will automatically spawn a Rally Point at the location where the enemy died.
9. Legion's second Augment is Scorched Earth. This will cause a small zone of napalm to spawn underneath what part of Legion's kit?

Answer: His Abilities

When Legion fires a Frag Order, Saturation Charge, or calls down his Orbital Sanction, Scorched Earth will cause a zone of napalm to appear underneath the effected area. The zone of napalm slows down enemies very slightly and tacks on extra damage to these Abilities. It is, of course, an excellent Augment to choose if the player wants to lean into Legion's Abilities more in their build.
10. Heavy Caliber is Legion's final Augment of choice, directly impacting his assault rifle in a multitude of ways. It makes Legion's Basic Attacks hit way, way harder with a nasty drawback to balance things. What is the drawback?

Answer: Reduced magazine size

Legion's assault rifle normally packs fifteen round magazines before he must reload. Through Heavy Caliber, this is more than cut in half by reducing the mag size to just six. This offers significant risk/reward to playing Legion; the player is rewarded with a gargantuan 310% extra damage output, making the shots they land deal ridiculous damage, but the reduced mag size punishes errant shooting.

It is a great Augment for players who are confident in their ability to land their shots. Newer players who are just getting acclimated to the game or Legion himself may wish to choose one of the other two Augments.
