Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Renna is a bold, brash and fearless witch, taunting her enemies all game long as she slings spells at them. Omeda Studios has recommended Renna for one role. What role?

Answer: Midlane

Renna is a rather stereotypical witch/mage and, as such, is a pretty obvious fit for the midlane. Boasting ranged Magic damage in droves, Renna is ready to enter shootouts with the many mages that she will doubtlessly cross paths with here.

Despite not being explicitly recommended for Support, Omeda Studios has designed an entire Hero Augment for Renna clearly intended to push her in this direction. As well, not long after Renna was released to the game, the Lifecore item was introduced which was an item clearly designed for specifically Renna to use to play Support with, though it also helps others Support should they desire it as well.

With unusually strong means to escape a nasty situation, you could do worse for an Offlaner than choosing Renna. That said, she suffers from the same problems any high DPS/low bulk character would in this role;the team would need to accommodate for the lack of survivability here, by ensuring the Jungle and/or Support, preferably both, play tanky characters. Renna is also susceptible to being pressured by the enemy Jungler, and would have to cope with losing a good bit of her lane pressure at level 6, when the opposing Offlaner gains access to their Ultimate.
2. Renna's stat build, for a mage, doesn't jump off the page in any exciting or particularly unique way. What is Renna's highest stat?

Answer: Ability Power

Unsurprisingly, as with all mages, Renna is Ability-focused. Renna does boast an above average rating for Mobility though, which is very useful for the Midlane due to how exposed the lane tends to be to surprise enemy invasions.
3. Renna's Passive is Echoes of the Damned. When killing anything at all, they have a chance to leave behind their Essence. Renna collects Essence by simply moving to its location. What does Essence do?

Answer: Gradually make Renna permanently stronger

Renna's Abilities will be enhanced for reaching various Essence milestones, but in general, Renna will become more and more of a threat the more Essence she collects.

Enemy Heroes will always drop Essence when killed, as will Monsters and Objectives. Lane and jungle minions, however, operate off of RNG as to whether or not they'll drop Essence on death.

From the start of the game, Renna is relatively weak. It's collecting Essence that will let her climb up and eventually become a menace later in the game.

Essence can be collected infinitely, making Renna one of few characters who can theoretically get stronger and stronger forever and ever. Thus, the longer the game goes, the stronger Renna will get.
4. Soulfire is Renna's Alternate Ability, featuring Renna blasting out a few waves of crimson magic at her target at a close distance. Renna can collect Essence to increase the quantity of waves fired. What is the ratio?

Answer: 50 Essence/1 extra wave

Every 50 Essence, Renna will fire out one extra wave. This scales forever so, in theory, if Renna were to reach 1,000 Essence, she would blast out a total of 23 waves; 3 which the Ability starts with, plus the extra 20 for Essence accumulated.

Personally, I play a lot of Renna, and I'd tend to average around 150-200 Essence in a good, decently long game. My personal record is 334. As such, that would be around 3-4 extra waves of Soulfire with the most I've ever experienced being an extra six waves.
5. Mortal Coil is Renna's Primary Ability. Renna shoots out a small orb that creates an area of effect, gently pulling enemies in and damaging them. There's more to this Ability than meets the eye, an added mechanic embedded into it. What mechanic is entwined with Mortal Coil?

Answer: Execute

The Execute mechanic is a mechanic that establishes a particular HP threshold, then instantly kills anyone who falls under that threshold even if they otherwise would have survived the attack.

In this case, Renna's Mortal Coil will immediately kill someone if it hits them while they are at 5% of their health.

Getting this Ability to deal even just a smidge of damage for a half second is easy. And if the target is under 5% health, even just one tick of damage that would ordinarily do 0.5% of their health will kill them.

Execute goes through shields, so even if shields would otherwise deny any damage whatsoever, Execute will still kill if the target has less than 5% of their HP remaining.

Although midlaners don't tend to find themselves dealing with shielded foes very often, this could be extremely useful for Renna if the enemy has a Muriel on their team; during team fights, Renna will be able to use Mortal Coil's Execute to play around Muriel's shields.
6. Renna's Alternate Ability is Stupor. This gives Renna some nice mobility, letting her immediately spring up into the air with a very floaty fall in a direction of her choice. While in the air, Renna may fire down an orb that afflicts targets with a nasty status. What status?

Answer: Mesmerize

Mesmerize briefly forces victims to walk very slowly towards the caster, leaving them wide open for a follow up. In Renna's case, she has a few different very nasty ways to follow up a successful Stupor.

Stupor is paramount to giving Renna the mobility needed to escape a nasty situation, due to the initial cast causing Renna to float up high. This can let Renna get over certain structures and potentially evade attacks.

Every 30 Essence collected gives Stupor a buff: 1% of the target's maximum HP will be dealt as damage upon landing Stupor. Hitting each 30 Essence milestone (30, 60, 90, 120, etc) grants an extra 1% to this buff.
7. Abyssal Rift is Renna's Ultimate Ability. It features Renna cast, teleport forward and suddenly spawn an enormous singularity over her head that spews out crimson magic in an AoE around her. The duration of this Ultimate is influenced by Essence. At base, it lasts for five seconds and Essence increases this, but at what ratio?

Answer: Half a second/50 Essence

Additionally, this Ultimate deals significantly more damage if a given target falls below 40% of their maximum health bar, giving it a very soft psuedo-Execute of sorts.

It is worth noting that, unlike most Ultimates, the window to interrupt this one is extremely narrow. It can only be interrupted during the cast animation as, even if Renna is stunned or otherwise immobilized, the orb will continue to shoot out magic from over her head. Once it starts shooting, the only way to stop it would be to straight up kill Renna.
8. Renna receives three Hero Augment options to choose one from. The first choice is Communion, extending a benefit towards allies who attack enemies standing inside Renna's Mortal Coil. What will happen to these allies?

Answer: They will be healed

In return, taking this Augment will cause Mortal Coil to lose its Execute mechanic.

While that may seem to be a terrible thing, this Augment was clearly intended for Renna to see use as a Support with. In this role, Renna could use Communion and Mortal Coil to heal the allied Carry. Losing the Execute mechanic also reduces the chances of Renna killing the target and, thus, depriving the Carry of their much needed kill.

As such, while this would clearly be a terrible Augment for the midlane, it's tailor made and well suited for Renna as a Support.
9. Netherward profiles as Renna's second Hero Augment. With this, when Renna uses Soulfire, she will gain a minor buff for a couple of seconds. What buff is it?

Answer: A shield

The shield scales with Renna's Magical Power, which players will naturally be building up as the game carries on. This enables Renna to be a bit more aggressive and get up close, important to supplement Soulfire's low range.
10. Renna's final choice for an Augment is Vital Essence. When picking up Essence, Renna will now receive a minor amount of healing and mana. It will also prove to be worth her while in another way. What else does Renna gain?

Answer: Gold

The gold isn't all too much, but given how many Essences Renna will collect in the average game, it can and likely will build up nicely.
