Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Yin and her powerful Silksong whip are always ready, as she claims. What singular role has Omeda Studios recommended for Yin?

Answer: Jungle

While Yin has only been formally recommended for the Jungle, she is unique in that she could realistically competently hold down any of the game's five roles.

She actually does have the kit to make Carry a possibility. Though she is a melee character, she has the highest peak DPS out of any melee character in the game and, crucially, has something in her kit to deal with projectile users she'd inevitably encounter in this role.

As a Midlaner, Yin cannot supply any magic, much less ranged damage output and this is why she has not been recommended for this role. However, she can very easily dominate the game's roster of Midlaners through the use of her anti projectile kit, making her a fit Midlaner.

As an Offlaner, Yin's high melee damage output and nimble mobility make the lane fairly straightforward; in fact, the reason Yin isn't recommended for this role to begin with is difficult to ascertain. It may be because Omeda strictly intended her for the Jungle, and her kit just happens to work in the Offlane. Really, really well at that.

Support is likely the role she is least fit for. However, Yin can protect an allied Carry from projectiles and deter foes from even trying to shoot them, so even here Yin can see some kind of use.

As for her recommended role, Yin has the perfect kit to go Jungling with. She has excellent mobility, great damage output and as such, can ambush very effectively in this capacity.

Generally speaking, the game's roster is very well balanced, and it is typically pretty difficult for players to even make a top five best characters list, much less make a claim as to who the #1 is. Yin has a lot going for her in the debate of "who's the single best character in the game", as she is extremely flexible and can easily get out of hand if used by a skilled player.
2. Yin has a strong stat build with no serious weaknesses. What is her highest stat?

Answer: Basic Attack Power

Sporting a devastating 9 for Basic Attack, Yin is the owner of the highest rated melee basic attacks in the entire game, just barely nudging out Serath who has an 8.

Yin's raw damage output isn't what sets her apart from Serath: her Silksong whip grants her a melee attack which outranges every other melee attack in the game. In terms of raw damage output, Yin and Serath are practically neck and neck, with the latter asserting approximately a 10% advantage. But, Yin's added range to her melee attacks does justify her receiving a higher stat.
3. Yin's Passive is Rising Storm, rewarding her for landing Basic Attacks or, specifically, her Lash Kick Ability. Each stack of Rising Storm attained boosts what stat of Yin's?

Answer: Attack Speed

At any point, Yin can have a maximum of eight Rising Storm stacks. Repeated attacks will refresh the duration once the cap has been reached.
4. Backlash is Yin's award winning Alternate Ability, allowing Yin to use her whip to reflect projectiles. This Ability is mainly devastating to assailants because of one key trait. Which of the following is true?

Answer: Backlashed projectiles cannot be dodged

While Yin can Backlash a staggeringly high number of projectiles, and even some things which shouldn't count as projectiles, some characters such as Gadget can override this protection. That said, if Yin does manage to Backlash a projectile, the wielder of the projectile cannot dodge the Backlashed attack. Even if the wielder puts a wall between themselves and fired a projectile that ordinarily cannot pierce terrain, Backlashed projectiles will pierce terrain anyway.

Yin can truly Backlash a lot, to the point where foes absolutely have to respect this capability. A Backlashed Ultimate is basically a guaranteed kill, keeping otherwise lethal shooters such as Sparrow, Renna and Howitzer at bay.
5. Lash Kick is Yin's Primary Ability, letting Yin use her whip to pull her in a direction to get around the map quickly. If Yin collides with an enemy player while doing this, she gets extra Rising Storm stacks. How many?

Answer: Two

This is the tool for use when coming out of the Jungle to initiate an ambush, as Yin moves extremely quickly and can essentially "Goomba hop" off of enemies in the process. The added Rising Storm stacks help to supplement the lane invasion with a nice bit of Attack Speed.
6. Windburn is Yin's Secondary Ability, adding range and the Cleave status effect to her Basic attack for a time. What does Cleave do?

Answer: Give single target moves an Area of Effect

Windburn will turn Yin's devastating Basic Attacks into an AoE move, then increase their range. It also gives them anti-tank, letting them deal added damage based on the target's maximum HP.

While Backlash is amazing for its own reasons, so too is Windburn. Between the two and Lash Kick for mobility, Yin really will never come into a situation she doesn't have some kind of an answer for. Glass cannons and unbreakable tanks alike have to respect Yin's kit.
7. Yin's Ultimate Ability is Quelling Gale, featuring Yin essentially spawn a small tornado at a target location. It speeds up allies and slows down foes who step into it, but it does something very unique with enemy projectiles. If an enemy projectile passes through Quelling Gale, what happens?

Answer: It becomes suspended mid-air

Any and all enemy projectiles entering Quelling Gale will be instantly stopped and suspended for the ten second duration. If left untouched, they will travel as intended when Quelling Gale ends. However, Yin can walk to a suspended projectile, Backlash it, and the projectile will get reflected once Quelling Gale ends.

With this, Yin can potentially reflect multiple projectiles at multiple sources. This aspect can be quite useful if properly used during a team fight.
8. Yin may choose one of three Hero Augments. Her first choice is Storm of Salvation, extending the duration of Windburn and giving Yin what added benefit when using Windburn?

Answer: Lifesteal

Yin will heal for 1% of her missing health through this Augment when using Windburn. This is the case even if Yin is attacking minions, letting it be an effective tool to quietly recuperate health with after a conflict.
9. Yin's second Hero Augment is Energy Transfer. This rewards Yin for successfully Backlashing a projectile with what?

Answer: Added movement speed

Added movement speed, a small shield and a reflected projectile will give Yin an abrupt, extreme shift in momentum facing down a target that just tried to shoot her. As such, a player with a steady hand that is confident in their ability to Backlash absolutely should take this Augment.
10. Lash Kick can let Yin bounce off of enemies, but her third Hero Augment in Serpent's Blessing incentivizes her to use Lash Kick to bounce off of walls and the ground instead. What will Serpent's Blessing do if Yin does this?

Answer: Cooldown reduction

The cooldown to Lash Kick is straight up sliced in half if Yin uses it against terrain instead of enemy players. As such, the intent is clearly to enhance Yin's mobility, fitting for a Jungler.
