Answer: Midlane

Gideon simply does not make sense played in a different role, and was tailor made for the midlane in turn. Possessing a great degree of ranged Magic damage and AoE damage along with the ability to escape quite quickly, Gideon is a natural fit for the role.

2. As a mage, Gideon's stat build leans into his Abilities. What is Gideon's score for Ability Power?

Answer: Nine

Along with formidable raw power, Gideon can outrange basically any other Midlaner, while being able to keep up with them in AoE damage as well.

3. Cosmic Power is Gideon's Passive. It grants Gideon's Basic Attack a brief power surge and the ability to Root enemies after Gideon does what?

Answer: Damages an enemy player with an Ability

Once Gideon damages an enemy Hero, he has a few seconds to follow up with a Basic Attack. If successful, the target will take extra damage and eventually be Rooted. This would be useful for if Gideon is trying to flee from said target, but would also be great for Gideon to more effectively secure a kill against a fleeing target.

4. Gideon's Alternate Ability is Void Breach. It has a fancy description, but can feasibly be boiled down to Gideon chucking a big rock at an enemy and afflicting them with a status. What status?

Answer: Slow

The Slow can be useful in enabling Gideon to have a better time following up with another attack. The rock will hit any enemies in its path until it collides with terrain or reaches max range, so it's also a useful tool for clearing minion waves.

Answer: Simply deals a lot of damage

You are likely to hear "The stars fall!" or "I'll crush you!" over and over and over again when playing with or against Gideon, as he says one of these lines every time he casts Cosmic Rift. It simply involves him dropping a giant cosmic rock atop a target location.

Answer: Yes

Every player on the map, friend or foe, may travel through Torn Space during the 5 seconds it's active upon casting. Enemy heroes will be slowed should they do so, but only very briefly. As such, Gideon should avoid casting this to escape an enemy if they're right in his face, and should instead endeavor to make even just a small bit of distance first.

Answer: "The Rift opens!"

For as iconic as this quote is, 'closing the rift' is just as satisfying to do and listen to. Black Hole involves Gideon levitating upward, pulling nearby enemy units towards him and rapidly dealing major damage to them over the duration of the long cast.

Unfortunately, it is a very long cast and Gideon is completely vulnerable while casting, meaning anyone with the means to Stun, Silence, Mesmerize or Fear can interrupt Black Hole immediately.

Answer: Target's Max HP

This means that Cosmic Rift now has minor anti-tank properties. This can be useful throughout the entire course of the game due to it scaling, but especially in the early game as Gideon's damage output is at its weakest.

The shield is based on Gideon's Magical Power. Therefore, the best defense in this case is a good offense. In any case, it can potentially help keep Gideon alive just long enough for his Ultimate to kill nearby enemies.

Answer: Range

Void Breach already has a pretty generous range, so this Augment is definitely the oddball out. Still, if attempting to pull off a stylish "YOLO" type play, Infinite Impact can enable such shenanigans. But for practical use, this is definitely Gideon's weakest choice for an Augment.
