Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Riktor is a big, burly, tanky character with a lot of utility. He has been recommended for two different roles by Omeda Studios. What is one of them?

Answer: Support

Riktor is big, tanky and can body block/take hits for an allied Carry. He deals predominantly Magic damage, and he wields quite a bit of utility. As such, Riktor is an excellent choice for the Support role.

Riktor is also recommended by Omeda Studios as a Jungler. Here, Riktor's specific utilities can lend themselves towards being a devious ambushing threat out of the Jungle. As well, Riktor's tankiness serves him well when taking camps inside the Jungle or trying to take Objectives. He has just ever so barely enough firepower to make it work as well.

Riktor's traits that make him work as a Jungler do make him an interesting choice for the Offlane. The reason he isn't recommended for this role likely stems from the fact that his kit simply fits Support and Jungle better and more clearly. But at the end of the day, a tanky character who can do at least some damage is worth considering for the Offlane.
2. Riktor's stat build isn't surprising when you take a look at the man for whom it's attached to. What is Riktor's highest stat?

Answer: Durability

Riktor is a tank, through and through out. So Durability being his highest stat makes about as much sense as the sun being hot.

Unfortunately, Riktor has fairly awful Mobility despite having an Ability that enhances his movement speed. Riktor's base movement speed is very much below average, which could create dicey situations if Riktor and/or his ally needs to flee the field, as well as making it cumbersome to try and run down fleeing threats at times.

Notably, Riktor has a fairly decent 5 for Ability Power. Though mediocre in general, for a tank, this is pretty good. It means Riktor isn't hapless and passive like other Support characters tend to be, which can be of situational use to an allied Carry.

Finally, Riktor's Basic Attacks get a 1 for a grade. Riktor is Magic based and isn't generally going to do the utmost of damage anyway, so this isn't too surprising. There is an argument to be made that Riktor gets less value out of his basic attacks than any other character in the entire game. This is unfortunate, because Riktor's basic attack animation involves him straight up whipping the target with a metal, electric whip, which is a pretty cool animation. An animation resulting in barely any real damage being done.
3. Riktor's Passive is Riot Shield. This Passive directly rewards Riktor whenever he successfully lands either his Riplash or Skewer skills. When doing this, what does Riktor receive?

Answer: A shield

Riktor gains a small shield, the strength of which is based entirely off of his maximum HP. As such, the shield will grow in effectiveness alongside the length of the game. This is because Riktor, regardless of which role he is being used in, will generally tend to build items which give him more maximum HP. Both Support and Jungle offer numerous options to this effect.

In "Paragon", Riktor did not have this passive. Often what he would risk doing by attempting Riplash or Skewer, especially if there are multiple enemies, is that he would grab one enemy, be stuck in the animation of grabbing that enemy, only to be severely damaged or killed by the ungrabbed enemy. Riot Shield was designed, almost definitely with the intent of preventing these situations from happening; Riktor should be rewarded, or at least not punished, for successfully using his two most crucial Abilities.
4. Riktor's Alternate Ability is the world famous Riplash, his signature trait and the thing Riktor is most well known for. Riplash is a simple but extremely deadly beast that can flip the script of an entire game by itself. In a nutshell, what does Riplash do?

Answer: Grab and pull foes from a distance

Riplash has a range at base which is just slightly greater than a ranged Hero's Basic Attack. Through an Augment, this range can be increased. But in general, being within grabbing distance of Riktor's Riplash can be extremely dangerous. As a Support, Riktor spends the near entirety of laning phase trying to grab the enemy Carry and/or Support. If successful, Riktor can briefly hold them in place for his allied Carry to completely unload into. The victim will briefly be helpless and essentially forced to flee while Riktor's Carry tears into them for free.

Riplash is notorious for being the hardest Ability in the game for a Support to learn to effectively use. For as powerful as it is, this difficulty curve serves as a balancer; a Riktor who could theoretically hit all of his Riplashes will cause laning phase to be incredibly short, as his Carry will absolutely wreck house.

As a Jungler, Riplash remains an integral part of Riktor's gameplan. He can use it as a means to ambush laning foes, and a clever Riktor player could even save it and use it to swiftly steal Objectives from the enemy team. That said, Riplash, while still very important, is not quite as crucial to be effective with as a Jungler compared to Support; Riktor's other tools are generally more useful as a Jungler and he's less one dimensional here as a result.
5. Shock Therapy is Riktor's Primary Ability. This is a utility move which still deals surprisingly solid damage, as it afflicts victims with the Silence status effect. What else does it do?

Answer: Destroy shields

This is especially useful as a Support, in particular if the enemy Support is Steel or Muriel. Steel's Passive constantly gives him a shield that can make it difficult to kill him; Riktor can help his allied Carry out by removing Steel's shield immediately with Shock Therapy. As you might expect, Riktor can use Shock Therapy to play around Muriel's shields as well.
6. Riktor's Alternate Ability is Electrocute. This Ability deals damage based on a few different stats; what does it scale the most off of?

Answer: Magical Power

Electrocute does scale very minorly off of Riktor's max HP, but will benefit noticeably more from investments on his Magical Power. This makes items such as Magnify, Worldbreaker and Oathkeeper ideal if the player wants to make Electrocute hurt as much as possible; these items give both Magical Power and Max HP, while also harboring passives which encourage and reward close ranged Ability use.
7. Skewer is Riktor's Ultimate Ability, featuring Riktor suddenly grab close ranged foes and hold them still for a few seconds. This applies a unique status effect in the process, but what one?

Answer: Suppress

Suppression, to sum it up simply, is essentially taking away the target's existence for the duration. It is similar to a Stun in that the target can't move or act. However, Stunned targets can at least still have passive effects or buff allies with various auras or traits. Suppression removes this entirely and essentially turns an 'off' switch on everything the target has or can do, period.
8. Riktor can choose one of three Hero Augments. His first choice is Current Overload, granting a bonus to Electrocute's damage against Monsters. It also gives Riktor an added buff when using Electrocute. What buff is it?

Answer: Movement speed

Electrocute already provides a minor movement speed buff, which Current Overload greatly increases. Because of its added damage on Monsters, this tends to be the preferred Augment for Jungle Riktor.
9. Riktor's second choice for an Augment is Brutal Chains, providing a simple range buff and cooldown reduction to which of Riktor's Abilities?

Answer: Riplash

Given that Riktor is most famous for Riplash, an Augment which offers simple, appreciable buffs to it is predictably highly welcome. It is worth noting that the cooldown reduction only kicks in if the player actually lands Riplash, thus rewarding skilled use of it.

While Brutal Chains can't really ever be bad or truly suboptimal anywhere, it is typically preferred on Support Riktor as opposed to Jungle Riktor. The latter tends to prefer Current Overload, but in general, Brutal Chains will never ever be a 'bad' pick for Riktor in any role.
10. Riktor's final Augment of choice is Wanton Warden. This one taps into Riktor's potential as a tank, rewarding him for taking hits by making it slightly easier to do so. On taking damage, what happens to Riktor with Wanton Warden?

Answer: He heals

Riktor will heal for a minor amount of any damage he ever takes, as a heal-over-time lasting several seconds.

This Augment is also difficult to truly go wrong with, but is generally preferred by newer Riktor players using him as a Support or by Riktor players using him in the Offlane. Here, the ability to heal even a minor amount of damage done goes a long way towards giving Riktor some useful sustainability.
