Question 1 of 10
1. As a big, bulky, demonic spider-like creature, Akeron is ready to throw down. His spider-like antics make him keen at ambushing people out of the Jungle. What other role has Omeda Studios recommended him for? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. For a big, burly tank, Akeron's stat build is definitely not what you'd expect. What is his highest stat? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. Akeron's Passive is Pact of the Devourer. It is admittedly an extremely convoluted Passive to fully break down, but the simplest way to convey it is: Akeron gains stacks of the Hunger status effect, up to 100, for completing a variety of actions. What does a single stack of Hunger do? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Crushing Maw is Akeron's Alternate Ability. As with all of Akeron's Abilities, Omeda Studios wrote a monologue and a novel trying to break down what this Ability does. Thankfully, it can be simply conveyed in this way: the Akeron player presses a button, sees the AoE of the skill, then presses it again to use it. If successful, what is one benefit Akeron will gain? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Hellfire is Akeron's Primary Ability. It shoots out a large, slow floating fireball that can pass through enemies. In doing so, what status will it apply to them as it damages them? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. Web Lash, Akeron's Secondary Ability, really lets him show off his spider-like capabilities. While it can be simply thrown at an enemy to ensnare them in a web briefly, Akeron can get creative with it and use this Ability targeting a wall. If done in this manner, what happens? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Consume is Akeron's Ultimate Ability. Like with all of his Abilities, Omeda Studios treated writing this one out to be like the Preamble to the Constitution, but its effect can be boiled down fairly easily. Which mechanic of the following comes into playing with Consume? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. As with all Heroes, Akeron can choose from one of three Hero Augments. The first one, Roar of Torment, completely changes how Consume works. In what way is that? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. Death From Above is Akeron's second choice for an Augment, impacting Web Lash. What does it do? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Akeron's final choice for an Augment is Insatiable Hunger. This interacts with Akeron's Pact of the Devourer, specifically how he attains Hunger stacks. When using Insatiable Hunger, how does Akeron gain Hunger stack? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As a big, bulky, demonic spider-like creature, Akeron is ready to throw down. His spider-like antics make him keen at ambushing people out of the Jungle. What other role has Omeda Studios recommended him for?

Answer: Offlane

As a big, bulky brute, Akeron is a natural fit for the Offlane. Here, Akeron boasts top notch mobility for the role, and can uniquely poke at enemies with range while being more than capable of getting close to deal damage as well. Akeron is multi faceted, and is a major threat in the Offlane.

Sadly, though he deals some ranged magic damage, it generally isn't enough to win a shoot down with traditional Midlane characters. Akeron's huge size also makes him easy to land shots against, so it would be difficult to adequately pressure Midlaners in most scenarios.
2. For a big, burly tank, Akeron's stat build is definitely not what you'd expect. What is his highest stat?

Answer: Mobility

While Akeron is definitely a menace and can both dish out and receive damage competently, he is also great at escaping danger, getting around the map quickly, and hindering the mobility of his foes. As what is essentially a giant demonic spider, he really does put the extra legs to use.

Answer: Gives Akeron Ability Haste

For each stack of Hunger, Akeron gains a 0.25% boost to his Ability Haste. Hunger stacks are gained by damaging or being damaged by enemy players. When reaching the maximum 100 stacks of Hunger, Akeron gains some Damage Mitigation, added Ability Haste, and his Abilities become enhanced in minor ways for a brief period of time.

Answer: Healing

Fortunately, Akeron can use this Ability to heal against anything, be it real players or AI-controlled minions. The AoE is also fairly generous, being a decently sized cone right in front of Akeron.
5. Hellfire is Akeron's Primary Ability. It shoots out a large, slow floating fireball that can pass through enemies. In doing so, what status will it apply to them as it damages them?

Answer: Slow

This Ability can hit an enemy multiple times, albeit with lessened damage on repeated hits. Because of this, the Slow can be useful in allowing this follow up damage to occur. It can also come in handy comboing into something else Akeron has in store, as his excellent mobility would make catching up to a slowed threat pretty easy.
6. Web Lash, Akeron's Secondary Ability, really lets him show off his spider-like capabilities. While it can be simply thrown at an enemy to ensnare them in a web briefly, Akeron can get creative with it and use this Ability targeting a wall. If done in this manner, what happens?

Answer: Akeron can jump on and off the wall

Web Lash has a fairly decent range, letting Akeron move up and down a lane or through the jungle very quickly. This Ability is what gives Akeron a lot of his standout mobility.
7. Consume is Akeron's Ultimate Ability. Like with all of his Abilities, Omeda Studios treated writing this one out to be like the Preamble to the Constitution, but its effect can be boiled down fairly easily. Which mechanic of the following comes into playing with Consume?

Answer: Execute

When casting this Ability, Akeron will begin to pull nearby heroes in a cone in front of him towards him, as if attempting to inhale them. If his targets get close to Akeron while he is using Consume, he will automatically bite them for some damage. If the damage this bite inflicts takes an enemy down to 10% of their health or less, they will simply be immediately killed instead.

In "Predecessor", the Execute mechanic is such where, once a skill hits a target at or under a certain threshold of health remaining, they will instead die instead of survive as they ordinarily would.

Execute can be used to bypass shields. Therefore, if Akeron uses Consume on a shielded target with very low health, it will completely ignore the shields and just kill them, even if the shields would have otherwise prevented any damage whatsoever.

As such, this Ultimate can be used to try and circumvent certain defensive countermeasures, such as Steel's Cybernetic Shell or Muriel's Abilities.
8. As with all Heroes, Akeron can choose from one of three Hero Augments. The first one, Roar of Torment, completely changes how Consume works. In what way is that?

Answer: It now Pushes instead of Pulls

Unfortunately, this completely removes the Execute mechanic that the Ability is so well known for. That said, the Push that Consume gains is extremely powerful, capable of overwhelming any movement option another character may have to try and resist it easily. With this, there is some leeway to turn this into a briefly impeccable zoning tool, as well as pull silly shenanigans like pushing someone into an enemy tower and forcing them to get shot by said tower.
9. Death From Above is Akeron's second choice for an Augment, impacting Web Lash. What does it do?

Answer: Optionally fire a second successive web

With this, Akeron can now jump from wall to wall once if he so chooses and a second wall is in range. Alternatively, Akeron can jump to a wall, then use his second web against another player to more easily catch up to them than before.
10. Akeron's final choice for an Augment is Insatiable Hunger. This interacts with Akeron's Pact of the Devourer, specifically how he attains Hunger stacks. When using Insatiable Hunger, how does Akeron gain Hunger stack?

Answer: Passively; they build up over time

This does come at the cost of preventing Akeron from gaining Hunger stacks manually, meaning all he can do is wait for his Hunger to build up to 100, rather than be able to aggressively attack enemies with the hopes of more quickly gaining stacks.

If the player prefers to play Akeron more defensively, this Augment could be quite useful. That said, as Akeron is often relied upon to be a team's frontline character, aggressively initiating conflict during team fights, it would likely be best to leave this Augment on the table as to best let Akeron build stacks more manually.
