Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Countess is well known for standing solely at the top of the game for being recommended by Omeda Studios for the most roles in this game. How many roles is Countess recommended for?

Answer: Three

Countess is recommended for the Midlane, Jungle and Offlane. Her unique blend of ranged magic damage, mobility, and close quarters DPS makes her well suited for all three roles. She can effectively ambush enemies out of the Jungle, fight up close in the Offlane and supply requisite ranged Magic damage to contend in the Midlane.

Because of this flexibility, Countess is a good idea for new players to learn. If desired, players can more flexibly prepare for Ranked or otherwise competitive games with Countess, as they can effectively fill three roles and fit a wider array of team compositions than any other character.
2. Countess' stats are not so flexible, making her item build approach clear. What is Countess' highest scored stat?

Answer: Ability Power

With a pitiful Basic Attack score of 1 and an only slightly less putrid 2 for Durability, Countess will not be trying to outslug other tanks by simply trading blows. Her 5 for Mobility and excellent 8 for Ability Power call for a more reserved bait and run or hit and run approach, letting Countess wear enemies down while staying out of their reach.
3. Blood Tithe is Countess' Passive, granting way to a very fast-paced play style. On dealing damage to Heroes with Abilities, Countess receives a couple of buffs while applying a status to enemy Heroes. Which of the following takes place on Ability damage?

Answer: Enemies receive damage over time

The damage over time is True damage, meaning it can't be resisted by any armor. It is based on the target's maximum health, so it will remain powerful even at higher levels. It also grants Countess a movement speed buff and partially refunds any of her Abilities that are on cooldown, including the one used to activate the effect in the first place.
4. Blade Siphon is Countess' Alternate Ability. Crucially, for Countess to fill so many roles, this Ability has a completely different interaction with enemy Heroes compared to Monsters and Minions. Which of the following is true?

Answer: Countess heals herself for more when hitting Heroes

Blade Siphon deals more damage to Monsters and Minions, making it easier to clear camps and facilitating her use in the Jungle role. Against enemy Heroes, whom Countess would be dealing with in the Midlane or Offlane role more often, Blade Siphon heals for far more when hitting them.
5. Shadow Slip, Countess' Primary Ability, gives Countess fantastic mobility, suiting her in multiple roles. It summons a clone-esque shadow which Countess can interact with. Which of the following can Countess do with this Shadow?

Answer: Warp to its location

This is both an excellent tool for escaping dangerous situations, and a useful tool to befuddle enemy players in a 1v1. When idle, the Shadow will also deals minor Magic damage to nearby enemies and apply Slow to them, which can give Countess an opportunity to run them down if they flee.
6. Eventide is Countess' Secondary Ability. It is easily her most basic ability, involving Countess simply firing a moderately sized crimson colored wave at enemies. What type of damage does it deal?

Answer: Magic

This Ability gets to be quite deadly as it gets levelled up. It pierces through foes as well, so it can hit multiple enemies in one use.
7. Feast is Countess' Ultimate Ability. It interacts with the Haemorrhage status afflicted by Blood Tithe. If a target has been actively Haemorrhaged, Feast does a lot more damage while also helping Countess in the process. Which of the following is a benefit she receives against an already Haemorrhaged target?

Answer: Self Heal

If the target has been already Haemorrhaged, Countess will heal for the full amount of the damage Feast deals, effectively a 100% Life Steal. This can help sustain Countess in the event of a team fight.
8. Shadow Strike is Countess' first choice for a Hero Augment. It encourages Countess to use Basic Attacks, buffing Shadow Slip in the process. What happens when Countess uses this Augment and hits an enemy Hero?

Answer: Shadow Slip Cooldown Reduction

Each time Countess hits an enemy Hero with a Basic Attack, Shadow Slip loses 10% of its cooldown. This could be useful if the player wants to play mind games with foes, but isn't the best for practical use due to Countess' poor Basic Attack Power and Durability.
9. Sanguine Slash is Countess' second choice for a Hero Augment. It conditionally buffs Blade Siphon's damage output. What condition must be met?

Answer: It can only hit one target

If the target is 'isolated' or Blade Siphon only manages to hit one target and doesn't hit more, Sanguine Slash will cause it to deal more damage. This works in all instances and against all forms of enemies, so long as Blade Siphon only hits one target.

If tasked with Offlane duties in particular, Countess will find frequent opportunities to land this skill against isolated targets.
10. If and when Countess is involved in a Takedown, her third Hero Augment choice in Blood Well would activate to offer Countess some means of reprieve. Which of the following does Blood Well do upon Takedown?

Answer: Spawn a location Countess can heal at

The location spawns right at the space the Takedown occurred. The Blood Well will stay up for a couple of minutes and, when Countess stands at it, she will slowly heal and regenerate Mana.
