Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As a decrepit old crone, Morigesh may not immediately look combat ready, but she is ready to put in work setting up her ritual. In what role does Omeda Studios recommend she do this?

Answer: Midlane

Morigesh, somewhat like Gadget, aims to make a living keeping back and throwing things at the enemy. Morigesh can definitely be a little more aggressive than Gadget, but the dynamic itself is clearly well suited for the Midlane.

Personally, although I acknowledge there are very good reasons why Morigesh is not recommended for Support, when I play Carry (for however rare that is), I have a longtime friend of mine who I will ask to play Morigesh Support with me. Morigesh's value in this regard is harassing the enemy duo while the Carry can take lane CS without as much of a hassle. She can also finish off an enemy who I (or any other Carry) just barely miss the finishing blow on.

Morigesh has seen significant use in the Offlane, to the point where players would likely agree she is viable for the role. Morigesh can place tons of pressure on traditional Offlaners very easily, while she actually does have a little bit of sustain to make the role more manageable for her than most mages. The main counterargument here would be that Morigesh is too easily pressured by the enemy Jungler, as well as loses a lot of her lane pressure after level 6, when the opposing Offlaner will have acquired their Ultimate Ability.
2. Morigesh's stat build is very slanted. What is her highest stat?

Answer: Ability Power

Morigesh, like most midlane characters, deals the majority of her damage through the use of Abilities.
3. Morigesh's Passive is Pestilence. Pestilence functions as Morigesh's exclusive status effect. When applied to enemies, what happens?

Answer: They take damage over time

When Morigesh hits someone with an Ability, it applies Pestilence. It deals damage which scales exactly half off of the target's maximum HP and half off of Morigesh's Magical Power- these two things will both be increasing as a game carries on, allowing Pestilence to remain just as threatening in the early game as it is towards the end.

When initially applied, Pestilence will last for a few seconds. If Morigesh lands another Ability or her basic attack against a target with Pestilence, the duration will be refreshed.
4. Mark is Morigesh's Alternate Ability. Morigesh can Mark up to one enemy hero at a time, granting her quite the leg up on this particular target. Which of the following is true about a Marked target?

Answer: Morigesh heals when attacking them

The health restored is based on Morigesh's Magical power, which will naturally be rising as the game carries on.

In addition to healing, Morigesh may also use her Ultimate Ability on a Marked target from anywhere on the map, even if Morigesh cannot actually see and/or is nowhere close to the Marked target.

The Mark will remain permanently, only fading away if Morigesh or the Marked target die, or if Morigesh Marks a different target. It is also removed if Morigesh does use her Ultimate on the target.
5. Hive is Morigesh's Primary Ability, where Morigesh throws a hive of insects at a target, dealing damage and afflicting what status to victims?

Answer: Slow

This can help Morigesh run down a fleeing target, especially if she had previously Marked them. Under this circumstance, Pestilence would be getting reapplied over and over again towards a Slowed target whom Morigesh can just pelt with her basic attack endlessly as they flee.

In most cases, unless a target has immediate safety or the capacity to outgun and kill Morigesh first, Morigesh will likely be able to finish them off with her Ultimate once this exchange ends.
6. Swarm is Morigesh's Alternate Ability, allowing Morigesh to "become the swarm" as the Ability description promises. What is one of the benefits to "becoming the storm"?

Answer: Morigesh can pass through enemies

This can be key for letting Morigesh escape a bad situation- it completely counters 'body blocking' in particular, which can be particularly useful if the enemy is playing a big character.

When passing through enemies, they will take a small amount of damage. Morigesh also does gain some movement speed and a minor amount of Damage Mitigation, conducive to helping her escape the enemy.
7. Curse is Morigesh's Ultimate Ability, enabling Morigesh to land a hefty blow against a Marked target. Which of the following is true about Curse?

Answer: It has infinite range

Once Morigesh applies Mark to a target, that target can be Cursed from anywhere on the map. When Cursing, Morigesh spends a brief period of time in a cast animation before a horde of insects appear at the target. The horde clusters up to form a person with a knife, which then stabs the target for a massive amount of Magic damage.

Marked targets will remain Marked until Morigesh Marks someone else, dies, or the Marked target dies. Because of this, if the player is ever Marked by Morigesh, they must be extremely careful not to end up low on health. The enemy Morigesh would be sure to keep tabs on their Marked target, ready to Curse at a moment's notice if they let their health get too low.

It is worth noting that this manuever can be interrupted by an extremely attentive assailant. As mentioned, Morigesh does undergo a cast animation prior to Curse taking effect. If an enemy sees this animation taking place, if they have any form of 'hard' Crowd Control such as a stun, knock back or a mesmerize, they can intervene and stop the Curse if they're fast enough.

Curse will remove the Mark from a target, provided that it doesn't just straight up kill them. If, however, the Curse was interrupted, the Mark will remain.
8. Like all Heroes, Morigesh can choose one of three Hero Augments. Her first choice is Cursed Infestation, granting a couple of simple flat buffs to Hive. What is one buff?

Answer: Damage output

A simple benefit to the distance Hive can be thrown and the damage it deals is what Cursed Infestation provides. Sometimes, there is beauty in simplicity, and that's what this Augment brings to the table. This is especially helpful for newer players, as they already have a lot about the game they need to learn in general, so easing all of the information they have to digest and doing it in a productive way can be helpful.
9. Spirit Shred is Morigesh's second augment of choice. As the title implies, it allows Morigesh to shred armor using what?

Answer: Basic Attacks

Basic Attacks will continually shred a target's Magic Armor, stacking up to five times. This Augment is especially useful for really aggressive Morigesh players, as they can rack up a lot of damage between this Augment and worsening Pestilence, while potentially healing off of Marked targets and even further supplementing the damage they would take from Curse.

As such, for experienced players, this generally tends to be a very strong Augment.
10. Finally, Ritual of Death is Morigesh's final Hero Augment. This rewards Morigesh for recording Takedowns, benefitting Curse. How does Curse benefit from Morigesh getting a Takedown with this Augment?

Answer: Reduced cooldown

The Astral Catalyst item is one which reduces the cooldown of the buyer's Ultimate Ability when they record Takedowns. Ritual of Death is basically the same thing, molded into a Hero Augment for Morigesh. Conveniently, they stack with each other, making Astral Catalyst out to be a must-have when choosing this Augment. With the two in hand, Morigesh will shed 40% of Curse's maximum cooldown anytime she lands a Takedown, with the Augment and item offering 20% each.
