Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the hit social deduction game "Among Us", enemy Crewmates are known by what name?

Answer: Imposters

Although "Among Us" launched on PC in 2018, it hit its stride during the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing in millions of players who could jump in with large groups of friends to play a game of "Werewolf" (or "Mafia") in one of a handful unique locales. Some would be faithful Crewmates just trying to do their tasks, but some would be Imposters. The goal, round after round, would be to try and evade being killed, but you could sound the alarm at any time to vote to send someone out of the airlock (or into a volcano).

Some of the original 'Friendslop', the game paved the way for massive, easy-to-pick-up, engaging IPs to come, so much so that it became part of the cultural melting pot quicker than most before it.
2. EMF Readers, Incense, and Parabolic Microphones are all items you can purchase and use in what 2020 horror title?

Answer: Phasmophobia

Releasing in early access in 2020, "Phasmophobia" workshopped for years, exploring different locales with all manner of spooky spirits (some dangerous and some not) by having up to four people go ghost hunting, using the tools at their disposal to summon forth and identify the types of spectres haunting houses, schools, and hospitals. Players could split up or come together to manage rituals and maintain their sanity or, if they were a bit too scared, they could stay and wait in the van. If players could continue to roll through investigations without getting possessed or outright killed, they could vie for bigger missions.
3. In "Lethal Company", the primary goal is to salvage scraps and trinkets to meet a quota issued by which of these?

Answer: The Company

As a contractor for The Company, it's your job to travel to different planets and moons, visiting old bases, caves, and labyrinths to salvage for scraps. If you can bring them back to your ship, you can fly home with them and offload them to fulfill an ever-rising quota. Naturally it's harder than you think because navigating these spaces generally needs someone to take point in the ship (or you can go blindly) and there are deadly monsters roaming around in and out of these locales. And hey, if you don't meet quota, you can always be shot out into space. Capitalism, am I right?

"Lethal Company" released in an early version in 2023, becoming an extremely popular streamable, moddable title for the PC. Unmodded, it hosts up to four people.
4. In "Content Warning", your goal is to film yourself and your friends and upload the videos to what fake streaming service?

Answer: SpöökTube

Showing up on Steam in 2024, this four-player PC title supposes that you're a group of influencers out to make online video content, but the way to do that is to descend (via diving bell) into a Lovecraftian Old World where the layouts, caverns, and rooms are randomized, but where you also have a chance of encountering impossible beings.

The goal is to make compelling content, so it's up to you how you shoot, narrate, and face off against the horrors that await. And hopefully you make it back alive in order to post your quota to SpöökTube after three days so that all the hungry viewers get to feast on the results.
5. In what 2025 co-operative game developed by Aggro Crab do you climb a mountain with up to three of your friends?

Answer: Peak

Launching on Steam in mid-2025, "Peak's" concept is a simple mission of overcoming one of mankind's great metaphorical obstacles-- a mountain. You and several of your friends can embark on an ascent up the side of a randomly-generated peak, aiming to reach the summit to seek out rescue. Along the way, passing through several biomes, you'll also have the opportunity to pick up useful items or find specific spots designed to aid your journey, and these will be necessary since everyone will need to maintain their stamina to reach the top.

"Peak" was immensely popular upon release. Made for a game jam event, its simple objective proved to be easy for players to latch onto en masse. It sold more than ten million copies in its first couple of months-- an unsurprising feat since you play in teams of four.
6. Releasing in 2026, the goal of this game is to blend in with your surroundings, playing a hide-and-seek game in which you paint yourself to fit a unique environment. What's the title?

Answer: Meccha Chameleon

An indie game hitting the internet by storm in mid-2026, "Meccha Chameleon" is a weird name for a simple game in which you just need to play hide and seek. Your hiders, shaped like humanoid figures (like a restroom sign) need to blend into the environment, painting themselves to camouflage like a chameleon, while your hunters need to keep their eyes peeled and shoot them to get them out. The game supports up to twenty-four players in the same game with a certain amount on each team.

"Meccha Chameleon" was exceedingly popular, driven by a massive push of social media content from influencers and streamers. It sold more than twenty million copies within four months-- an astounding amount, even on an international scale, for an independent title.
7. Liminal space games are the perfect scenarios for groups looking to explore the unknown. In a 2025 PC game, players could "Escape" what location popularized by a horror web series?

Answer: The Backrooms

"Escape the Backrooms" joined a growing catalogue of liminal space horror games in 2025, the difference being that this one allowed you to navigate the unfathomable expanses of the empty unknown in groups of four. In the game, all you need to do is proceed from procedurally-generated space to procedurally-generated space, each one following a different theme (backrooms can give way to poolrooms which can give way to a hotel and on and on). You and your teammates need to evade foes, keep your sanity, and find the exit... if there is one!

As much as this game checks the boxes for fans of liminal horror, others may find it to be a bit...empty. But that's kind of the point. Easy does it. Sometimes the emptiness is the true horror.
8. "RV There Yet?" involves getting a massive camper across rough terrain. What's true about the vehicle?

Answer: It has rear-wheel drive

And believe me-- navigating the wilderness with a rear-wheel drive RV sounds like a nightmare in this game, and with four players attempting to get to where they need to be in the face of all manner of deep-woods obstacles, you'll be wishing you had a better vehicle and sprung for all-wheel drive.

"RV There Yet?" is another 2025 game that was originally created as part of an online game jam, in which independent game developers spun something out of a basic prompt. In it, you never really needed to get anywhere specific, you just needed to keep going, letting the camping nightmare unfold and try to dig yourself out of it. With help, of course, but games like these tend not to foster cooperation.
9. The 2025 game "Shift at Midnight" has its players working in an odd gas station. Up to how many players can work together here?

Answer: Three

One of the smaller player capacities for a friendslop title, "Shift at Midnight" only has room for three. After all, who can afford to staff the graveyard shift so thoroughly? In this title, you simply need to do your job, but you need to be aware that a number of your patrons may, in fact, be evil doppelgangers, out to kill you if you let them survive. You'll have the opportunity to assess whether or not you're looking at an evil creature and be able to put them out of their misery before they can get you, but you'll have to imagine it's difficult to balance fighting for your life with stocking the snack shelves.
10. Six players can work together to wreak havoc as what "Burglin'" beings in a 2026 co-op game by the Finnish devs at Fobri?

Answer: Gnomes

In this game, it's time to heist, only you and your friends can play as mischievous, little gnomes. At the start of each run through any given area, you'll be given a list of objectives of which you'll have to complete as many as you can as a group. Naturally, no one who's not a gnome will be particularly thrilled-- all of them are the enemies. You'll have to accumulate items and weapons, build your home, and survive, all while following through on your inclination to be weird li'l guys.
