My homage to, in my humble opinion, the best band in the world. Here are some of the lyrics from the six magnificent albums (and maybe, if I'm feeling cheeky, a couple of B-sides) of Oxford's Angels: Radiohead. I give the lyric, you give the song.

Radiohead Trivia Questions

1. The song featuring this line of text: "And I'll never see them again if I squeal to the cops..."

From Quiz
Radiohead - Lyrics Knowledge

Answer: A Wolf at the Door

To be exact, it is the last line of the chorus, which appears twice in the song. "I keep the wolf from the door, but he calls me up. Calls me on the phone, tells me all the ways that he's gonna mess me up. Steal all my children if I don't pay the ransom, and I'll never see them again if I squeal to the cops..." 'A Wolf at the Door' (with the alternate title 'It Girl. Rag Doll.') appeared on the sixth LP album "Hail to the Thief" (2003).

2. What is the correct lyric of the last line in "Like Spinning Plates"?

From Quiz What Radiohead Lyrics

Answer: My body's floating down the muddy river

Radiohead's producer, Nigel Godrich, made singer Thom Yorke learn the lines to "Like Spinning Plates" backwards and then played them forward for an eerie result. In addition, "Like Spinning PLates" is actually "I Will" played backwards.

3. Fill the lyric: "Beautiful angel, pulled apart at birth. Limbless and helpless, I can't even ________ you."

From Quiz Hardcore Radiohead

Answer: recognize

This is from the song "Motion Picture Soundtrack", the original version, not the one featured on the album "Kid A".

7. Which 'Amnesiac' song, according to Thom Yorke, is supposed to give you the feeling of being stuck in traffic?

Answer: Packt Like Sardines In a Crushd Tin Box

Thom mentioned this during multiple US tour events.

8. Fill in the missing word(s): "You've got a head full of feathers, you got melted to _____."

From Quiz Radiohead - Lyrics Knowledge

Answer: butter

"You've got a head full of feathers, you got melted to butter" appears in the song 'Faust Arp' from the seventh LP album "In Rainbows" (2007). That line is the last one in the song. 'Faust Arp' is a song which only uses vocals, guitars and strings. It's really beautiful when you listen to it more often. It also has the most lyrics in the whole album, despite being the shortest song.

9. Which Radiohead artist-in-residence did most of the artwork for "In Rainbows?"

From Quiz Radiohead: "In Rainbows"

Answer: Stanley Donwood

Stanley has done the artwork for pretty much every Radiohead-related release, including the E.P.s and singles. His prints run about $300-$400 and are sold in editions of 150.

10. The lyrics to "I Will" are in direct reference to what major event that took place in the 90's?

From Quiz What Radiohead Lyrics

Thom Yorke wrote "I Will" after the United States mistakenly bombed a building full of Iraqi civilians, which they thought was a strategic military outpost.

11. "I get home from work and you're still standing in your dressing gown; well what am I to do?"

From Quiz There Are Two Colours In My Head

One of the most underrated songs on 'The Bends', in my opinion. Also the first Radiohead song I learnt to play. Thom Yorke has been quoted as saying this song is about sex in the morning once you've both brushed your teeth.

12. What song is this lyric from? 'Go up to the mic, go and get some rest.'

From Quiz Radiohead B-sides

Answer: Worrywort

'Worrywort' was only released on the 'Knives Out' single.

13. Thom's voice has changed considerably since their debut 'Pablo Honey'. When the band perform older songs in their recent tour, how does Thom sing them?

14. "I keep falling over I keep passing out when I see a face like you".

Answer: Jim Morrison

Jim Morrison was a huge influence on Thom Yorke in his early days of guitar playing.

18. "I'll take a quiet life, a handshake of carbon monoxide."

From Quiz There Are Two Colours In My Head

Answer: No Surprises

'No Surprises', a crowning pinnacle on the album 'OK Computer', is just a beautiful song, and also one of the few Radiohead tracks to gain some general popularity. I remember being in a bowling alley listening to repetetive and boring pop music from a compilation CD. Suddenly, out of nowhere, we were listening to 'No Suprises', that was superb.

19. Name the song: "Whatever happens / If we're still speaking / Pick up the phone / Play me this song."

From Quiz Hardcore Radiohead

Answer: A Reminder

This song is brilliant, and it also features samples from a Czech train station.

20. Which two B-sides/unreleased(as of 2002) songs share the same lyrics: "I don't know why I feel so tongue tied, I don't know why I feel so skinned alive."

From Quiz Radiohead B-sides

Answer: Myxomatosis and Cuttooth

This is interesting- I saw that the lyrics were the same while reading over them. If you don't believe me, go to, and see for yourself. Perhaps the songs are related in some way?

24. The remaining questions are all about lyrics and song titles. This song starts "When I'm at the Pearly Gates..." Name it.

Answer: Videotape

This song was highly anticipated by the download community, but dramatically changed from the live version performed on the '06 tour.

25. What are the lyrics of "Morning Bell" directly referring to?

From Quiz What Radiohead Lyrics

Answer: Divorce

Lyrics such as "the clothes are on the lawn with the furniture" and "cut the kids in half" are blatant reference to the annoyances and perils of divorce.

26. "I walk through walls. I float down the Liffey."

From Quiz There Are Two Colours In My Head

Answer: How to Disappear Completely

The Liffey is a river in Dublin. The line was inspired by a dream Thom Yorke had. In competition with 'Idioteque' and 'The National Anthem' this is my favourite track on 'Kid A'.

27. Name the single that the song "Molasses" appears on.

From Quiz Hardcore Radiohead

Answer: Street Spirit CD2

This song has never been played live, ever.

28. What key is 'Creep' in?

From Quiz Radiohead Questions

Answer: G

The chord progression throughout is: G, B, C, Cm looped. Ed plays the clean parts during the verses with his Rickenbacker (through a Mesa Boogie amp with plenty of chorus). Jonny comes in just before the choruses with that famous 'chainsaw' effect before going mental with loads of distortion belting out of his small Fender tranny amp. In the video Thom is also playing guitar but performing live he's hands free so he can concentrate more on the whimpering and drooling.

29. Which techno band did Thom Yorke once play guitar for?

From Quiz Radiohead

Answer: Flickernoise

Thom played for Flickernoise when he studied Fine Art and Literature at Exeter.

30. "It's always best when the light is off".

From Quiz Radiohead Lyrics

Answer: Climbing Up The Walls

From the album "Ok Computer" released July 1st 1997. This song is fabulous when you put the volume up and you close your eyes...
