Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Batman's faithful butler, Alfred, has been with the Wayne family for quite a while, and as familiar as he is to comic books fans, do you know his last name?

Answer: Pennyworth

Alfred Pennyworth was a former agent with the British Secret Service where he learned an incredible amount of arcane medical knowledge, giving him the ability to heal Batman's many injuries. Originally conceived as an overweight, clean-shaven butler, Alfred has morphed into the lean, moustachioed jack-of-all-trades we know today.
2. Deathstroke is one bad dude. He is incredibly intelligent, blind in one eye, and has a nutty daughter named Ravager. What was Deathstroke's occupation before he became a villain?

Answer: Army officer

Appearing for the first time in 1980, Army Major Slade Wilson was injected with some weird joy-juice that turned him into the ruthless Deathstroke. Known also as 'The Terminator' and 'Slade', Deathstroke has been an arch enemy of the Teen Titans ever since his son, Grant, died while working with them.
3. Which of these statements is true about the relationship between Blue Devil and Eddie Bloomberg?

Answer: Eddie met the Blue Devil on a movie set and wanted to become his sidekick...Blue Devil said 'No.'

Blue Devil (Dan Cassidy) was a part-time actor who wanted desperately to achieve major stardom. A demon offered him the chance to achieve this dream in exchange for his soul, but the plan backfired and Blue Devil became a superhero. On one of his movie sets, Dan Cassidy met Eddie Bloomberg who gushed that he was Dan's'number one fan. Even though Eddie later became Red Devil and fought with the Teen Titans, Blue Devil was never comfortable having a partner.
4. Who is the nut-job that hates Wonder Woman and does everything within his power to destroy people's faith in her?

Answer: Doctor Psycho

Edgar Cizko is a demented little (3 ft., 9 in) twerp who hates women in general and Wonder Woman in particular. He is able to create hallucinations in people, leaving them slobbering psychopaths. Aside from this power, Doctor Psycho is a wimp and hides behind the protection of the Secret Society of Super Villains.
5. In 1842, James Orchard Halliwell wrote a funky little poem called "Solomon Grundy" which detailed a man's life condensed into a single week (born on Monday, died on Saturday) In a more recent incarnation, Solomon Grundy was an arch villain devoted to the destruction of both Green Lantern and Batman. Where did he receive his superhuman powers?

Answer: In the ooze of Slaughter Swamp

Solomon was thrown into Slaughter Swamp by angry townspeople who resented his larceny and avarice. While struggling in the goo, he gained not only super strength, but immortality as well. He's a hefty little zombie (517lb) but he's not playing with a full deck of Tarot cards. He is often conned into doing the dirty work of other villains and suffering in the process.
6. Beast Boy has a totally awesome power : he can transform himself into any animal (existing or extinct)and has fun in the process. Often tormenting his fellow Teen Titans with his frat boy humor, they tolerate him because of his 'Sakutia.' What the heck is 'Sakutia?'

Answer: A rare disease afflicting Beast Boy

Beast Boy (nee Garfield Larson) needs regular treatments for his 'Sakutia' illness; the nasty side-effect is that his skin turns a billious green after each treatment.
7. To put it mildly, Power Girl is hot. Whoever drew this character must have had a vivid imagination about what the ideal woman should look like. Other than her va-va-voom figure, which of these statements is NOT true about this buxom Justice League member?

Answer: She once allied with Clayface by mistake and ended up killing him once she discovered his treachery

Power Girl (Karen Starr) and Supergirl (Kara Zor-El/Linda Lang)have often worked together, most notably during their efforts to keep Ultraman and Saturn Queen from taking over the bottled city of Kandor. Possessing a fiery temper, she also has heat vision and freezing breath.
8. There is a vicious creature out there in space who conquers entire planets and is close to invulnerable to physical attacks from the likes of the Justice League. Who is this oozy, blobby menace?

Answer: Starro

Starro is a killer star-fish shaped monster who enslaves planets after sending out drones to conquer them. He (It?) even attacked New York and took control of the Justice League. Red Tornado, being the loveable android that he is, was not affected by Starro's stickiness and managed to rescue the rest of the League members.
9. Let's hear it for Congo Bill. Once a mighty hunter and intrepid African explorer, he received a magic ring from a tribal chieftain, allowing him to switch bodies with what powerful jungle creature?

Answer: The Golden Gorilla

Congo Bill was tall (6'8")and strong, but, alas, still human. When he died, he took the powers of the Golden Gorilla, the king of the jungle. He became Congorilla, the Amazing Ape and is one of the stalwart members of the Justice League of America.
10. What is Clark Kent's middle name?

Answer: Joseph

DC insists that 'Joseph' is Clark's middle name, but there are some references to 'Jerome', especially in the 'Lois and Clark' television series.
