Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This actor put a big nose forward for his role in the movie "Roxanne" with Daryl Hannah. He definitely heard his share of "big nose" jokes, too. Do you remember who played the character, C.D. Bales?

Answer: Steve Martin

C.D. was crazy about Daryl. When C.D. was in a bar, he was challenged to tell so many nose jokes, he didn't stop there. He kept on and on and on. You ready to hear all the nose jokes? Let's go or should I say blow!

'Scuse me. Is that your nose or did a bus park on your face?' Nose jokes are provided by the movie "Roxanne".
2. This talented Oscar winning actress, singer and director has plenty to sing about. This actress and her nose are very private. You might recall her from her movie "The Way We Were" with Robert Redford. Do you remember her name?

Answer: Barbra Streisand

Barbra is not only known for her "nose" but also her long beautiful nails. Barbra mentioned one time, that she "arrived in Hollywood without having my nose fixed, my teeth capped, or my name changed..."

Barbra won her first Oscar and Golden Globe for her role in "Funny Girl". She won her first Emmy for "Outstanding Individual Achievements in Entertainment with "My Name Is Barbra".

Another joke from "Roxanne" - "Everybody take cover. She's going to blow."
3. Sonny used to make fun of both her nose and her height. Do you recall this "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves" singer?

Answer: Cher

During the "Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour" we would listen to "short jokes" or the never ending "nose jokes". What we didn't know, was the pain behind all the jokes.

Well, here we are, just the three of us" - provided by "Roxanne".
4. Do you recall these words on my favorite television show? "Mom said, don't play ball in the house." This episode was when the kids broke mom's vase in the living room. There was another episode when this daughter got hit in the nose with the football. Do you know the character's name?

Answer: Marcia Brady

Marcia Brady, the pretty one, the smart one and the one with the major nose in the episode, "The Subject Was Noses". Doug Simpson turned out to be a goof and luckily she didn't lose Charley as a friend. Way to go Marcia!

"All right, Delbman, your nose was on time but you were fifteen minutes late." This line can be heard in the movie, "Roxanne".
5. Who was known as "old ski nose"?

Answer: Bob Hope

Bob Hope brought us so many laughs through the years. Bob hosted the Oscars for many years. He would always joke about the Oscars and 'him never receiving one.'

Welcome to the Academy Awards, or as it's known at my house, Passover."

"Personally, I never drink on Oscar nights, as it interferes with my suffering."

From "Roxanne", "Ooooh, I wish I were you. Gosh, to be able to smell your own ear."
6. This talk show host got the scoop on Al Capone's vault, he also got a punch in the nose on his talk show, too. Do you remember this celebrity?

Answer: Geraldo Rivera

Geraldo was born in New York in 1943. Geraldo has had quite a few talk shows over the years. He was a correspondent for "20/20" in 1978. He was a host for "Good Night America" and he hosted his own talk show, "Geraldo" in 1987. I'll never forget the look on his face after they opened the vault. We all waited and watched, for nothing!

Geraldo, did you hear this one before? "You know, you could de-emphasize your nose if you wore something larger, like Wyoming."
7. Nicole Kidman donned a major size nose to play Virginia Woolf in this movie with Meryl Streep. Do you know the name of this movie?

Answer: The Hours

Nicole had to don the fake nose for her role of Virginia in this movie. Come to find out, Nicole was not the first person up for an Oscar with a fake nose. Lee Marvin donned a fake nose in "Cat Ballou" and won the Oscar. Jose Ferrer also won an Oscar for his nose-winning "Cyrano de Bergerac".

Steve Martin made a joke at the Oscar's that "The Hours" was the first movie that Nicole did NOT wear a fake nose. Just who does Steve Martin think he is by saying that?

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Sneeze and it's goodbye Seattle."
8. This puppet's nose grew and grew when he was dishonest. Do you remember this puppet?

Answer: Pinocchio

Pinocchio had a bit of a problem. When he didn't tell the truth, his nose would grow a little longer with each lie. Pinocchio ended up becoming a real live boy at the end of the movie, of course with a little help from his friend and conscience, Jiminy Cricket.

"Uh, would you mind not bobbing your head? The, uh, orchestra keeps changing tempo."
9. This big nosed actor not only kept the "Streets of San Francisco" clean, but he also was a major pitchman for the American Express card. Who can you hear the words, "Don't leave home without it" from?

Answer: Karl Malden

Karl Malden picked up his first Oscar for his role of Mitch in the movie "Streetcar Named Desire". He was also nominated for an Emmy in "Streets of San Francisco". Sort of think he's got to stick to the streets with that major nose! Actually, my favorite movie with him is when he played the Reverend in "Pollyanna".

"It must be wonderful to wake up in the morning and smell the coffee, in Brazil."
10. In the movie "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", Hermione Granger finally got to curl up her fist and shove it right in someone's nose. Can you remember who she punched?

Answer: Draco Malfoy

It was great seeing her sock him out. That reminds me of the television show "Laugh In" and the sock it to me girl. Maybe you'll remember Jimmy Durante saying "Good night, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are." Who could forget W.C. Field's nose? What about the reindeer that saved the day, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer? Every time I think of noses, I can't seem to forget beautiful Samantha Stevens and her "twitching" nose in "Bewitched". But most importantly ladies... remember the number one rule from "Legally Blonde"! Don't do the "bend and snap" when a UPS man is standing by you.

"The Lord giveth. And He just kept on giving didn't he?" Thanks for playing the quiz. Now quit being so nosy and go smell something!
