Eric Sykes worked with both Peter Sellers and Harry Secombe on various projects over the years beginning in the 1950s. Eric Sykes began to lose his hearing during the Second World War, eventually becoming completely deaf.

He learned to read lips and make use of other cues to continue performing comedic roles. Despite vision troubles, a stroke and heart surgery, he continued performing until 2010, a consummate British performer to the end.

9. On 17th March 2012, at a football match between Bolton Wanders and Tottenham Hotspur, a player for Bolton by the name of Fabrice Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest on the field of play. For how long did his heart stop beating?

Answer: 78 Minutes

Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest on the field of play on that day and it was probably the best place for him to do so (if there is such a place) - as well as the medical staff from both clubs being present there was also a Cardiac consultant in the crowd who was also able to give assistance. It could well be that, had he suffered the cardiac arrest anywhere else, it is almost certain that he would have died. It was two days later that his heart was able to beat on its own unaided, Muamba has since retired from football.
