1. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is supposedly home to two famous ghosts. One of them is Marilyn Monroe, the second really famous ghost is?

Answer: Montgomery Clift

Room 928 of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is home to this famous actor. He lived here for three months while filming From here to Eternity and I guess he decided to stay on. Many hotel employees and guests have reportedly sensed the actor's ghostly presence
2. This building was originally built in 1863 for Henry Dawson Ellis Bull on the banks of the Stour river in Essex and has been host to strange paranormal activity for over a century. It is considered one of the most haunted houses in England. Name it.

Answer: Borley Rectory

The Borley rectory has been home to sightings as diverse as phantom coaches, flying objects, mysterious drops of temperatures (as much as 10 degrees), monastic chantings and organ music. Seances by psychics indicate that a young French Nun Marie Lairre left her convent to marry a landed gent and was strangled by him on May 17, 1667 and her body was buried in the cellar of the same building.
3. She has been haunting Justice,Illinois since the 1930's. She has been seen by cops, taxi drivers, Ministers and some young men claim to have taken her dancing to the Willowbrook ballroom. Who is she?

Answer: Resurrection Mary

Many believe that Mary was a young Polish girl named Mary Bregavy, although her exact identity remains unknown. The girl died in an accident and was buried in the Resurrection Cemetery. In 1939 a cab driver gave her a ride and she disappeared right in front of Resurrection Cemetery ! She has been sighted by many since. Cool !
4. She was a beautiful New Orleans socialite who had a gristly hobby. She liked to torture and kill slaves.

Answer: Madame Lalaurie

Madame LaLaurie kept her slaves in awful conditions. One day a fire broke out in her house revealing some gruesome scenes in her attic. Slaves were kept in cages, mutilated and tortured till death. Many people who stayed or worked there abandoned the place under mysterious circumstances.
5. According to Mexican legend, this woman fell in love with a Nobleman who rejected her because of her Indian blood. For over 400 years, her wails of 'Oh My Children' has haunted New Mexico city. Who is she?

Answer: La Llorona

La Llorona according to most legends was Dona Luisa de Olveros, a Spanish Indian of outstanding beauty who fell in love with a nobleman Nuno de Montesclaros. When she came to know that he was marrying a Spanish noblewoman, she went crazy and killed her children.

She was later convicted of sorcery and publicly hanged in Mexico city. But every night, at the stroke of midnight, she wails for the children she killed.
6. This ghost wrote Telka, Hope Trueblood, The Sorry Tale (among many others) through a medium by the name of Mrs Curran.

Answer: Patience Worth

Mrs Curran was barely literate, so there was no way she could write stories set in the time of Christ, the 19th century and medieval England. Patience was said to have been born in Dorset, England and later emigrated to America where she was killed by an Indian war party.
7. This term loosely means noise spirits

Answer: Poltergeist

From the German words Polter (noise or racket) and Geist (spirit) they are reputed to send objects flying across rooms, shatter pottery and make noises among other bizarre activity
8. A young slave girl Chloe poisoned the children and wife of Judge Woodruffe in this house in Louisiana. The rest of the slaves then hanged her and threw her body into the river. Her spirit still haunts this house along with that of the two young children of Judge Woodruffe. Name the house

Answer: Myrtles Plantation

Woodruffe apparently used Chloe sexually for quite a while before he dumped her for another slave. Further, he had one of her ears cut off for eavesdropping. Chloe poisoned the birthday cake of the oldest daughter. Whether she did this for vengence, or just to make everybody mildly sick so that she could nurse them and not have to work in the feilds is unclear. Woodruffe didn't have the cake, and he survived, the rest of his family died in a matter of hours
9. Legend has it that if you look into the mirror and say her name thrice in a dark room, her mangled face will appear and try and get you unless you run very fast, or turn on the light. (watch your caps)

Answer: Bloody Mary

Another name used is Candyman that was probably inspired by this legend. Of course, now Candyman is as well known as Bloody Mary is. Its origin is shrouded in mystery - is it Mary Worth, is it Queen Mary, no body knows for sure
10. The Los Angeles Pet Cemetery in California is where a lot of celebrity pets are buried. There have been many sightings here, but most notably of Kabar. What was Kabar?

Answer: A great Dane

Kabar died in 1929. He was the dog of Rudolph Valentino. Apparently, he makes frequent appearances by his grave to lick all passersby.
