The movie "The Mothman Prophecies" was based on this event. The bridge connecting Point Pleasant to Ohio was the bridge that collapsed, killing 46. Two bodies were never found.

On March 19 he threatened to kill anyone not listening to jazz. Throughout New Orleans jazz could be heard playing in almost every house. Surprisingly, no one was killed. To my knowledge there never was a New Orleans Strangler, but there was a Boston Strangler.

All the other options are names of people who tried to crack the code. Only one of these messages has been decoded. It gave the description of the treasure they found and what kind of containers that it is held in. The first message supposedly gives the treasures hidden location and the third gives a list of relatives of the members of the party. If they never returned, the treasure was supposed to be divided by the relatives.

Some people believe there is actually still more treasure buried out there.

In the story, the ship chosen for this experiment was the USS Eldridge. It's not known if scientists were trying to make the ship invisible to radar or to sight. A person by the name of Carlos Allende wrote letters describing the event to a man named Morris K. Jessup. Jessup later apparently committed suicide.

He was an unsuccessful author at the time and this act was thought to have been done to drum up sales and hype.

He got into a car accident and a crowd of people gathered around (A Day in the Life). There are many other "clues" in their songs, but there are just too many to list.
