Copper Canyon is a group of six distinct smaller canyons. The system is larger, and some parts deeper, than the Grand Canyon in Arizona. If you visit, you will find archaeological sites over 6000 years old, a mangrove forest, great bird-watching, and excellent crabbing. [The entertainer Prince is known for his album and single "Purple Rain."]

The Grotto is popular, not only for the caverns but also for scuba diving, snorkeling, and rock climbing. ["The Maltese Falcon" is both a novel and a motion picture.]
9. On the east coast of Australia in southeastern Queensland is a city named ___ Coast. Which color fills in the blank space? [Think AU.]

Answer: Gold

Gold Coast is the second largest city in Queensland. It is a major tourist attraction for its theme parks, nightlife, surfing, beaches, canal and waterway system, and sunny climate. [AU is the chemical symbol for gold, from the Latin "aurum."]
10. Gruner See is an unusual lake in Styria, Austria. What is its English name? [A golfer might guess.]

Answer: Green Lake

The name "Green Lake" derives from its emerald green water that comes from the snow-melt from the Hochschwab Mountains. In the winter, the lake is very shallow (one-two feet) and the surrounding area is used as a park. In the spring after the snow melts, the lake is 10-15 feet deep and the water color is at its peak.

The water starts to recede in July. In the spring, divers can observe underwater meadows, a bridge, a bench, trails, and trees that are visible on land in the winter. [To finish each hole, golfers must putt out on the green.]
