Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which three Sand Snakes try to encourage Prince Doran to avenge their father's death?

Answer: Obara, Nymeria and Tyene

The Sand Snakes are the illegitimate daughters of Prince Oberyn of Dorne. Incensed by their father's death at the hands of Ser Gregor Clegane, the eldest three, Obara, Nymeria and Tyene, urge their uncle to take action, unaware that he has other plans entirely.
2. What is the name of the ship on which Arya sails to Braavos?

Answer: The Titan's Daughter

The Titan's Daughter is captained by Ternesio Terys of Braavos.

Black Wind is Asha Greyjoy's ship, Iron Victory is Victarion Greyjoy's and Silence is Euron Crow's Eye's.
3. After her father's death, who does Cersei appoint as the Hand of the King?

Answer: Ser Harys Swyft

Cersei has no desire to give the Tyrells any more power and influence than they already wield. After she quarrels with her uncle, Ser Kevan, and Jaime refuses the post, she appoints the unsuitable Ser Harys.
4. Which of the Free Cities is Prince Doran's Captain of the Guards from?

Answer: Norvos

Areo Hotah initially came to Dorne in the service of Mellario, Prince Doran's Norvoshi wife.
5. Jaime proves to be as adept a fighter with his left hand as his right.

Answer: False

Jaime had been one of the finest knights in Westeros before his right hand was cut off.

He begins training in secret with Ser Ilyn Payne, learning to fight with his left hand but his abilities with that hand come nowhere near the abilities he had before being crippled.
6. Who is not part of Arianne's plan to set Myrcella up as queen of Westeros as a rival to her brother, King Tommen?

Answer: Sarella Sand

The plan is betrayed to Arianne's father, Prince Doran, and ends with Ser Arys's death, Myrcella's serious injury and Arianne's imprisonment.
7. At the Gates of the Moon, Littlefinger reveals his plan to marry Sansa (Alayne) to whom?

Answer: Harrold Hardyng

Littlefinger has let it be known that Sansa is his illegitimate daughter, Alayne Stone, in order to protect her identity. However, Petyr, like most people in Westeros, believes that Sansa's brothers are all dead and she is the rightful lady of Winterfell.

It was originally planned to wed Sansa to her cousin, the sickly Robert Arryn. However, Littlefinger believes Robert will not live long and so has arranged a marriage between her and Harry the Heir, who, he also believes, will soon succeed Robert as lord of the Eyrie.
8. By what name is Lady Catelyn Stark now known?

Answer: Lady Stoneheart

After her death at the Red Wedding, the Brotherhood without Banners came across Catelyn's corpse. Harwin, a former Stark retainer, had begged Thoros the Red Priest to breath life back into her as he had done repeatedly for Beric Dondarrion. Thoros refused as she was too long dead and so Lord Beric did so, bringing Catelyn back from the dead and ending his own life in the process.

Now known as Lady Stoneheart, she leads the Brotherhood in a campaign of revenge against the Lannisters and more particularly the Freys.
9. Which of the Kettleblacks confesses to having slept with Queen Margaery as part of a plot to have her executed?

Answer: Osney

Osney was infatuated with Cersei and agreed to take part in her scheme to bring Margaery down. For the wife of the king to sleep with someone other than the king was treason and punishable by death, a simple way for Cersei to remove Margaery's influence over Tommen.

Unfortunately for Cersei, the High Septon is more than a little suspicious of Osney's delight in his guilt.
10. Which of the Archmaesters does Alleras the Sphinx take Sam to?

Answer: Marwyn

Archmaester Marwyn is extremely interested in the story Sam brings him of Danaerys Targaryen and her dragons, and declares his intention to seek her out.
