"The Gathering" has won the Peace Prize and the CBC Book of the Year Award(1994). It is about a young teenager, Nathaniel, who moves to Cheshunt. He feels that something is wrong with Cheshunt the moment he arrives. Soon he learns that his presence is no accident and he must battle to stop the Gathering and its creator.
2. At what age did Isobelle Carmody first start writing "Obernewtyn"?

3. Name the fourth book in the "Obernewtyn" chronicles.

Answer: The Keeping Place

There will be 5 books in the whole series. The fifth and last book (yet to be released) is called "The Sending"

5. "Green Monkey Dreams" is a book of short stories.

Answer: True

This novel was written over a period of 13 years.
6. In "Darkfall", book one of the Legendsong, how did the martial arts instructor, Wind, die?

Answer: Committed suicide

Wind is one of my favourite characters. Glynn is shocked to find that Solen resembles him even though he is from another world.
7. Name the title of the book which could be described as 'colourless'.

Answer: Greylands

"Greylands" is a story of loss, pain, love and renewal. It tells of a young boy, Jack, coming to terms with his mother's death and how it has affected his family.
8. "Ken's veins ran with ice water as the sorceress leaned towards him, eyes aglow with golden witchlight..." This is the blurb of which book?

Answer: Dreamwalker

This book isn't a novel but a picture-story book. I think it is illustrated magnificently by graphic artist, Steven Woolman.
9. Ember and Glynn are twin sisters (from the books "Darkfall" and "Darksong").

Answer: True

Many people found it hard to believe that Ember and Glynn were sisters, let alone twins. Hardly anything was the same about them except for the colour of their eyes.
10. In many of her stories Isobelle writes about telepathy. What is telepathy?

Answer: Speaking from one mind to another, even to that of a beast

Some characters in Isobelle's books that know how to use telepathy or have discovered it within themselves somehow are: Elspeth, Matthew, Rushton, Dameon ("Obernewytyn" chronicles), Glynn, Solen, Ember ("Legendsong" saga), and Merlin ("Scatterlings").
