Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. My husband and I took part in an experiment which resulted in our daughter having a special power.

Answer: Victoria McGee

The character, Victoria McGee, appears in the 1980 novel, "Firestarter." She took part in an experiment with The Shop (a government agency) along with Andy McGee whom she later married. The two developed powers from the experiment and their daughter Charlene, or Charlie, was born with pyrokinetic ability, or the ability to start fires.
Donna Trenton is a character from "Cujo". Margaret White had a daughter with a special power ("Carrie"), but it was not a result of an experiment. Donna McGee does not exist in the Stephen King Universe.
2. My husband is very abusive and hates when I smoke. I once forgot that he didn't like me to smoke and after lighting a cigarette he hit me for the first time in a parking lot. I never really fought back until I realized I had much bigger worries than him.

Answer: Beverley Marsh Rogan

Each of these are characters from Stephen King works and each suffered their own form of abuse or nightmare from their husbands. The only wife who got abused for smoking was Beverley Marsh from "IT." She finally fought back when she realized IT was back.
3. My little girl got lost in the woods during a fight between my son and me. My ex-husband and my daughter were huge fans of the Red Sox.

Answer: Quilla Anderson

Quilla took back her original name, Anderson, after her divorce. Her daughter, who was lost in the woods, is named Trisha MacFarland. These two characters are from the 1999 novel, "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon."
Bobbi Anderson was a character from the novel, "The Tommyknockers."
4. I am a graphic artist who survived what came to be known as The Pulse.

Answer: Clayton Riddell

Clay was the main character from the 2006 novel, "Cell." He was a graphic artist whose most recent work was for, "The Dark Wanderer." He formed a group with Tom McCourt and Alice Maxwell after The Pulse began.
5. My dad is a lawyer. I don't see why he couldn't file a law suit for my teacher's violent actions and harsh punishment. He should find some sort of loophole. But let me tell you, I'm going to get back at the girl who got me in trouble, you watch.

Answer: Christine Hargenson

Chris Hargenson is from King's first novel, "Carrie", published in 1974. She is talking about the time the gym teacher threw her into a row of lockers and made her lose her prom tickets.
Buddy Reperton was a bully from the book, "Christine" who tormented Arnie Cunningham. Charlie Decker was from the Bachman novel, "Rage."
6. I've got quite a life. In one book I'm at a shelter for abused women called "Daughters and Sisters" because my ear was almost torn off. In two other books I'm battling a demon called Tak. And remember, "Don't call me cookie and I won't call you cake."

Answer: Cynthia Smith

Cynthia Smith first appeared in "Rose Madder" where she goes to "Daughters and Sisters." She also is against Tak in "Desperation" and its tie along novel, "The Regulators."
7. I may be a kid, but I fought terrifying battles alongside a small group of people, including a writer and his girlfriend. I am also pretty smart.

Answer: Mark Petrie

Mark Petrie is from the 1975 novel, "Salem's Lot." He fought the vampires of the town along with the main character of the story, Ben Mears, who was a writer. And Ben's girlfriend, Susan.
There was a twelve year old boy from the novel, "Cell," named Jordan. He was also smart and fought along with Clay. Clay was a graphic artist, though, and did not have a girlfriend that they fought with.
8. I put up with my husband's abuse right up to when he broke my carnival glass that meant so much to me. After that I planted a meat fork right through the man's neck which landed me in Juniper Hill until a kind woman helped get me out.

Answer: Nettie Cobb

Juniper Hill is an asylum in the Stephen King universe. It was featured in several of his books including the four that the four character choices came from. "Needful Thing's" character, Nettie Cobb, was in Juniper Hill until Polly Chalmers helped release her.

A carnival glass was Nettie's "needful thing" from the store in the book. "Needful Things" was published in 1991 and is the last novel to take place in Castle Rock.
9. I am a writer who suffered from writer's block after my wife's death and started publishing works I had written and saved beforehand.

Answer: Mike Noonan

Mike, Ben and Paul were writers. So that eliminates Ralph. Both Ben and Mike lost their wife so that takes out Paul. The rest only fits the character Mike Noonan from the 1998 novel, "Bag of Bones."
10. As a kid I help save a boy named Douglas, or Duddits as we all called him. I have a bad habit of chewing on toothpicks and they eventually cost me my life.

Answer: Beaver

Each character was one of the four boys who saved Duddits in "Dreamcatcher." Beaver was the one who chewed toothpicks and was killed when reaching for one. "Dreamcatcher" was published in 2001 and was the first book Stephen King wrote after his accident.
