The name "George" is never mentioned in the movie, but it is listed in the final credits. Taylor's astronaut companions, Landon, Stewart and Dodge, also are never referred to by their first names.

Taylor writes down the name "Fort Wayne" during his preliminary interview with Dr. Zira and Cornelius. Later, while interviewing Taylor, Dr. Zaius, Chief Defender of the Faith, claims that the name "fort" proves that all humans are warlike and dangerous. Zaius is convinced that all humans are a "pestilence".

Taylor cannot talk at first because of a gunshot wound to his throat, but Zira notices how alert and intelligent he is. She is fascinated by Taylor's bright eyes, and she is certain that he will do well on an intelligence test.

Answer: Nova

Nova, played by Linda Harrison, is mute and thus never speaks during the movie. In the movie sequel, "Beneath the Planet of the Apes", Nova manages to say one word: "Taylor!" Stewart was the only female astronaut on the expedition, but she died in her space capsule due to an air leak.

After Taylor has been caught in a net while trying to escape from his cage, he utters one of the most famous lines in movie history: "Take your stinking paws off me, you ... dirty ape!" The apes, of course, are shocked, and Taylor is subsequently put under the supervision of Dr. Zaius.

The Sacred Scrolls are ancient documents written some 1200 years in the past. Dr. Zaius occasionally quotes from them to explain his fear and hatred of humans. For example, Scroll 29 basically reads, "Beware the beast, man, for he will destroy his world as well as yours."

Lucius is Dr. Zira's nephew; after Taylor's trial, he assists Taylor in escaping from a prison cage. Since Zira and Cornelius have been accused of heresy, they decide to travel to the Forbidden Zone in an attempt to find evidence of an advanced human civilization. Taylor and Nova also join Zira, Cornelius and Lucius on their journey.

While touching a human doll, Nova accidentally presses the doll's vocal chords, and it says, "Mommy." Nova is startled and drops the doll. Dr. Zaius is stunned when Taylor asks, "Would an ape create a human doll that talks?" Cornelius' theory has been proven to be correct.

The ending to "The Planet of the Apes" is mind-boggling. Taylor, indeed, does find his destiny when he realizes that he has been on the planet Earth all along.
