Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. We'll start with the basics. There are a total of five Guardians in the movie. Which Guardian is the only one who does not speak?

Answer: Sandman

Sandman is the Guardian of Dreams. Though he never actually speaks, he communicates through gestures and his own sand figures. Unfortunately this causes him some trouble trying to get the attention of the other Guardians. Sometimes, you just have to use an elf with a bell on his hat!
2. Believe it or not, the Guardians didn't start out as Guardians. They were chosen from their previous lives to protect the children of the world. The Man in the Moon chooses each of the Guardians, including Jack Frost.

Answer: True

The beginning of the movie shows Jack Frost being rescued from the frozen lake by the Man in the Moon. Later, the Man in the Moon, known by the Guardians as Manny, chooses Jack as a Guardian to fight against the Boogeyman. North informs Jack that the Guardians did not pick Jack, but that he was chosen by the Man in the Moon.
3. The Guardians protect the children of the world and guard their hopes and dreams. In the movie, they protect a group of children in the city of Burgess. Out of this group, who is the child who never stops believing in the Guardians?

Answer: Jamie Bennett

Jamie Bennett is the child who refuses to listen to the other children who say that the Guardians do not exist. Ultimately, this belief actually saves the Guardians. If enough children stop believing, the Guardians would actually cease to exist. Near the end of the movie, Jamie is the only child who still believes, and helps the Guardians restore hope to children.
4. Contrary to popular belief, the elves at the North Pole don't help make Christmas toys. It's a group of lovable, loyal and, hard working yetis. Which yeti is the only one mentioned by name?

Answer: Phil

While Jack and North walk to North's office, Jack informs his host that he has tried to get inside of the workshop for years. Thankfully for North, Jack never could get passed the watchful eye of Phil, who sees Jack and cautiously watches him. Jack says, "Oh, hey Phil," which is the only time any yeti is mentioned by name in the movie. During the end credits, we see Phil sign his name in a book about Bigfoot.
5. During the movie, the Guardians protect the children from the infamous Boogeyman. Known to the Guardians as Pitch Black, the Boogeyman begins turning dreams into nightmares, which causes children to stop believing in the Guardians. "I'd say sweet dreams, ______." Finish this line from Pitch.

Answer: but there aren't any left

Pitch tells the Guardians that he is tired of being invisible, which is what happens to a Guardian when a child does not believe in them. Part of his plan to be believed in is to steal the teeth collected by Tooth and her fairies, along with the fairies themselves.

He then plans (and ultimately succeeds) to eliminate the Sandman. Without Sandy around to give the children good dreams, Pitch and his nightmares freely go around the world and cause distress. Children begin to lose faith in the Guardians because of the fear they feel through Pitch's nightmares. Fortunately, Pitch is unable to scare Jamie Bennett, and when his black "nightmare" sand touches Jamie, it becomes the color of Sandy's dream sand.

This gives Sandy enough power to return to help the Guardians defeat Pitch.
6. Before Jack Frost is chosen to be a Guardian, the others wonder who will be chosen. Tooth and Sandy wonder if it could be the leprechaun, while Bunny is hoping it isn't another possibility. Which February holiday character does Bunny NOT want to be chosen as a Guardian?

Answer: Groundhog

Groundhog day is February 2nd. Bunny says, "Please not the groundhog, please not the groundhog." The leprechaun would represent St. Patrick's day, which is in March, and the turkey would be symbolic of Thanksgiving in November. Cupid represents Valentine's Day, which is in February, but since the groundhog is also a furry underground creature, Bunny doesn't want that competition. Once Jack is chosen, Bunny says, "Uh, I take it back, the groundhog's fine." Obviously Bunny's dislike for the groundhog couldn't compete with his dislike for Jack Frost, who continually ruins Bunny's Easter egg hunts.
7. At one point in the movie, one of the Bennett children accidentally opens North's snow globe and enters Bunny's warren. What is the name of the child that Bunny calls a "little ankle-biter?"

Answer: Sophie

Sophie is Jamie's little sister who finds North's snow globe after Sandy accidentally knocks him out. He also puts Tooth, Bunny and Jamie to sleep while trying to protect Bunny from the Bennetts' greyhound, Abbey. Sophie sees Bunny and says, "Bunny! Hop, hop, hop!" This triggers the snow globe to set the warren as the destination. Sophie walks through the magic portal and eventually, after the Guardians arrive, she helps them paint Easter eggs. Claude is one of Jamie's friends who joins Jamie and the Guardians to fight Pitch near the end of the movie.
8. Before Jack Frost joins the Guardians, North asks him what his center is. A Guardian's center is the main trait that defines who the Guardian is, and what they protect in children. North's center is wonder, but what does Jack discover is HIS center?

Answer: Fun

As Jack becomes more aware of who he is and who he was before he became Jack Frost, he discovers that the one thing that makes him who he is, is fun. No matter the situation, Jack always finds the fun in what is happening. Even at the end, with Pitch and his nightmares bearing down on him and the children, Jack uses fun to keep Jamie and the Guardians hopeful. Jack is especially good at starting snowball fights and giving kids epic sled rides!
9. After the Guardians lose Sandy to Pitch's nightmares, Bunny tells them that he needs their help to get eggs ready for Easter. He tells them "Buckle up" and then opens a hole that takes them through the tunnels to the Warren. Which Guardian says, "Buckle up. Is very funny," when they exit the tunnels?

Answer: North

North tells Bunny earlier in the movie to buckle up when they all climb into his sleigh. Bunny turns that phrase back around on North when they tumble through his tunnels. At the end of the wild tunnel ride, North says this line. North has a Russian accent in the movie, and some of his phrases are chopped, like this one. It makes for entertaining dialogue between the characters!
10. Just before the final battle with Pitch, the Guardians meet up with Jack and Jamie. One of the Guardians is not quite what they usually are. This Guardian says, "Now somebody sees me! Where were you about an hour ago, mate?" Which Guardian says this when Jamie sees them?

Answer: Bunny

The last word in his sentence should give it away. Bunny, with his Australian accent, uses the word "mate" quite frequently. After Pitch's nightmares break every single Easter egg, it causes all but one child (Jamie) to stop believing in Bunny. Because of this, Bunny becomes a normal sized, cute rabbit instead of the tall, muscular and cool looking fighter he was before. Thankfully for Bunny, he doesn't stay that way.

As children begin believing again, Bunny regains his normal size and rejoins the Guardians in the final battle against Pitch Black.
