Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who are the alien species that Loki sends to attack New York City in "The Avengers"?

Answer: The Chitauri

Loki takes control of Thanos's army of Chitauri to invade New York City. The aliens are also featured in flashbacks of Thanos's conquests in "Avengers: Infinity War" as he kills half of the planet Gamora is from.

The Kree are an alien race that abduct Captain Marvel after she is exposed to the Tesseract. A member of the Kree gives her his blood, making her a hybrid Kree-human, and she fights alongside them until she realizes that they have been manipulating her to make her their weapon. They are depicted as both human-looking, as well as blue-skinned. They are featured as antagonists in "Captain Marvel" as well as a few episodes of "Agents of Shield".

The Skrulls are shape-shifting aliens. In the comics, they use this ability to battle the Kree and attempt to destroy the Earth by impersonating many of the Avengers. In "Captain Marvel", they are depicted as refugees that are trying to escape the Kree.

The Outriders are featured in both "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame". They are Thanos's army to take over Earth in both films. There is no indication on why he switched from the Chitauri to the Outriders, but these aliens are not used by Loki in "The Avengers".
2. After Loki attacks the SHIELD helicarrier, the Avengers get split up. Which of the Avengers is the last to show up to help defend New York in "The Avengers"?

Answer: Bruce Banner

After Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton fly to the city, Tony follows them. Thor comes later, aiding them in the initial defense of the city. Then, Bruce Banner rolls up in a borrowed motorcycle. Steve tells Bruce that it might be a good time to get angry. Bruce states that he's always angry, turning into the Hulk just in time to destroy a Leviathan.
3. What are the last words of Ultron in "Avengers: Age of Ultron"?

Answer: "You are unbearably naive."

All of these lines are in Ultron's final conversation with Vision. Vision confronts the final Ultron drone, where they discuss humanity. Ultron wanted Vision to have been the thing that destroyed humanity, but Vision saw the good in humanity and wanted to save them. "A thing isn't beautiful because it lasts," Vision says to Ultron, prompting the evil AI to utter his final words. Vision responds by stating that he was, in fact, born yesterday.

This causes Ultron to attack Vision, resulting in Vision killing Ultron.
4. Why do Wanda and Pietro turn on Ultron in "Avengers: Age of Ultron"?

Answer: Wanda finds out Ultron is trying to destroy humanity.

The twins are with Ultron for most of the film. They fight the Avengers on a few occasions, even setting the Hulk against an entire city to distract them. Ultron eventually kidnaps a South Korean scientist, Helen Cho, who was working on a synthetic life form. Using the vibranium he bought from Ulysses Klaue, he infuses it into the synthetic life form. He plans on putting his conscious into this form, so that he can be nearly invincible.

Wanda then finds out that the creation has thoughts that she can read. Once she does, she sees Ultron's plan of destroying the world, leading to the extinction of humanity. Feeling betrayed, she and Pietro leave Ultron. This leads them to eventually help the Avengers in stopping the evil AI.
5. In "Avengers: Age of Ultron", the Avengers confront Ultron in a shipping container owned by Ulysses Klaue. The Avengers confront Ultron, who is ready to destroy the Avengers after stealing Klaue's vibranium. Thor tells Ultron, "No one has to break anything." What is Ultron's response? (Tony says that Ultron beat him to this line by one second).

Answer: "Clearly you've never made an omelet."

Tony seems frustrated that he wasn't able to beat Ultron to the punchline of this joke. It shows that Ultron is a product of Tony, as he has similar personality traits as him, showing in the snide comment. They then proceed to fight, with Ultron, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch battling the Avengers.

Ultron does state, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger," when he reveals his vibranium form towards the end of the movie when talking to Black Widow.

He also states the metal line during the battle of Sokovia, as Hawkeye shoots one of Ultron's drones down, only to be replaced by another.
6. Where do the Guardians of the Galaxy attempt to recover the Reality Stone before Thanos can get to it in "Avengers: Infinity War"? Hint: The Collector lived here.

Answer: Knowhere

The Guardians of the Galaxy travel to Knowhere, a planet that they visited in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film. That time, they had brought the Power Stone to the Collector. But they take it with them when they leave, after destroying the Collector's collection.

After "Thor: The Dark World", the Reality Stone is brought to the Collector. This is where Thanos goes to retrieve the stone. He destroys the shop and defeats the Guardians, kidnapping Gamora in the process.

Sakaar is the setting of most of "Thor: Ragnarok", where Thor and Hulk fight. This is also where the Grandmaster lives.

Titan is Thanos's home planet, where he confronts the Guardians, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man.

Vormir is the location of the Soul Stone. Thanos retrieves the Soul Stone from here after killing Gamora. Vormir is seen again in "Avengers: Endgame" when Hawkeye and Black Widow go in search of the Soul Stone.
7. Whose final line in "Avengers: Infinity War" is, "Up! This is no place to die."?

Answer: Black Panther

Black Panther says this to Okoye as they are recovering from their confrontation with Thanos, after the Mad Titan knocked both of these heroes aside. Black Panther goes to Okoye, telling his general to get up before he disappears, a victim of the Snap. Okoye is left, staring in shock, as her king dissolves before her eyes.

Bucky's final words are, "Steve?"

Falcon's are, "We have a Vision problem."

And Drax doesn't say anything as he dissolves on Titan after the heroes failed to stop Thanos before he left the planet.
8. There is a lot of time traveling in the movie "Avengers: Endgame". Which two Avengers end up going all the way back to the year 1970?

Answer: Iron Man and Captain America

After losing the Space Stone in 2012 to Loki, Tony, Steve, and Scott feel as though they have failed their plan. Also in 2012, Bruce Banner is getting the Time Stone from the Ancient One, and Captain America have retrieved the Mind Stone. Without the Space Stone, however, their plan has failed. So, Tony decides to send him and Steve back to 1970, because he knows that there they will have access to the Space Stone and they will also be able to retrieve the Pym particles, which will help them back to the future.

They are successful, and while in the year 1970, Steve runs into the love of his life Peggy while Tony gets to have a conversation with his own father, Howard, which gives him a better perspective of his father.
9. Stan Lee makes his final cameo in "Avengers: Endgame". What is he doing in this film?

Answer: He is shown driving a car in the year 1970.

"Make love, not war!" he yells as he drives past the military compound in the year 1970. It was both a fun cameo, and a sad one, as the Marvel comic writer had in fact passed away about six months prior to the release of the film. It was the final of his cameos, as the writer had been in every single one of the MCU movies to date at the time, as well as some of the "X-Men" and Sony super hero movies.

Joe Russo, one of the directors in the film, is a member of Steve's support group.

Ken Jeong, a comedian, is a security guard who helps Scott Lang get out of a garage where his stuff was impounded.

While there are a lot of people at Tony's funeral at the end of the movie, Stan Lee was not one of them.
10. In "Avengers: Endgame", after Black Widow dies, Tony asks the other Avengers if she had any family. Who does Steve reply that her family was?

Answer: Them (the Avengers)

In what was a tragic moment for the Avengers, the original cast (minus Black Widow) gathers around to discuss their friend's death. Tony asks if she had anyone, and Steve tells Tony, "Yeah. Us." Thor tries to justify it, saying that they can just use the stones to bring her back. But, Hulk explains that they will not be able to, as she actually died, whereas everyone who was snapped away were only temporarily gone.
