Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "The Warriors" was filmed on location in what major U.S. city?

Answer: New York City

The movie was directed by Walter Hill, and it was filmed entirely on location in New York City. All the subway scenes were filmed in one location as well.
2. Cleon is the leader of the Warriors. What was Swan's title?

Answer: War Chief

Cleon was clearly the leader of the Warriors, as much as Cyrus was the leader of the Riffs. In the movie, we learned that Swan was next in line to take Cleon's place.
3. What was the name of the gang who fought the Warriors at Union Station? Hint: Their leader wore rollerskates.

Answer: The Punks

The filming of this fight scene took five, eleven hour days to complete.
4. When Fox and Swan parlayed with the Orphans, they learned that the Orphans did not have one of these?

Answer: Youth Worker

Fox was making small talk with the Orphans. He tells the Orphans
that the Warriors heard about them through their youth worker. When
the Orphans tell Fox they don't have a youth worker, Fox amusingly tells them it is because they are so bad.
5. The leader of the Baseball Furies had what color of face-paint?

Answer: Yellow and Black

This is the same guy who does the fancy baseball bat handling. He squares off against Ajax, and Ajax quickly takes him out.
6. According to the radio D.J., the Baseball Furies did what with the Warriors?

Answer: Dropped the ball

The Baseball Furies were played by professional stunt men.
7. When Ajax threatened to take the baseball bat away from the leader of the Baseball Furies, what did he threaten to turn the leader into?

Answer: Popsicle

Of course, Ajax described it little more creatively, but he certainly got his point across. Use your imagination.
8. In the movie, we learned that The Riffs were from what specific area of New York City?

Answer: Gramercy

Gramercy is the birthplace of Teddy Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States.
9. What was the name of the baldheaded gang that rode around in an old school bus?

Answer: Turnbull A.C.s

Whew! It is my opinion that if the Turnbull A.C.s had caught the Warriors, that would have been it. Aside from the Baseball Furies, the Turnbull A.C.s were one of the scariest looking gangs in the film.
10. How did Fox die?

Answer: Thrown in front of a train by a cop

The actor who played Fox, Tom Waites, walked out during the filming. Thus, his character was killed off. A movie crew member filled in for the this scene.
11. What did Rembrandt use as a weapon in the fight with the Punks?

Answer: Spray paint can

Rembrandt nailed the leader of the Punks with spray paint to the eyes, and then, he hit him with a good blow to the head. Rembrandt was responsible for "tagging" places the Warriors had been.
12. In their confrontation with the Orphans, what did the Warriors use to aid their escape?

Answer: Molotov cocktail

For some reason, this really freaked the Orphans out. Of course, we knew that the Orphans weren't really that bad. According to Fox, they were so far down on the list of gangs that they weren't even on the map.
13. Vermin was always worried about getting _____________, or beaten up.

Answer: Japped

Vermin was always worried or complaining about something.
14. The Lizzies were dangerous to the Warriors because they were ________?

Answer: Packed

Following instructions from Cyrus, the Warriors came to the Bronx under a truce. Thus, they were not packed or armed with weapons, but the Lizzies were.
15. Where did the Warriors meet the Lizzies?

Answer: Union Square

In this scene, you can just tell that trouble is brewing. I find
naming an all-girl gang "the Lizzies" hilarious.
16. What was the name of Luther's gang?

Answer: The Rogues

We didn't know much about the Rogues other than their leader was a psychopath.
17. What color shirts did the Orphans wear?

Answer: Green

That was pretty easy. Of course, yellow would have matched their demeanor.
18. How many bottles did Luther bang together while he chanted, "Warriors, come out to play!"?

Answer: Three

If you watch the movie, you will see he had three bottles on his fingers. To a fan of the movie, this scene, with the chanting, is either a classic, or it is extremely annoying.
19. After Swan threw his knife at Luther, it hit him in his right arm.

Answer: False

The knife hit Luther in the left arm. This was pretty cut and dried (no pun intended).
20. Why did Luther and his gang frame the Warriors for killing Cyrus?

Answer: The Warriors saw Luther shoot Cyrus.

Fox actually witnessed the shooting, so Luther decided to blame the Warriors to protect him and his gang.
21. When the Riffs arrived at Coney Island, in what color were they all dressed?

Answer: Black

Some say they dressed in black because they were mourning the death of Cyrus.
22. When the new leader of the Riffs complemented the Warriors about being good boppers, Swan replied that they were the ___________?

Answer: Best

This was an awesome scene. Afterward, Luther and the Rogues paid their dues, as the Riffs exacted revenge.
23. Which actress had her first movie role starring as the undercover cop who arrested Ajax in Central Park?

Answer: Mercedes Ruehl

This was Mercedes Ruehl's first screen appearance. She would later appear in such movies as "Married to the Mob", "Big", and "The Fisher King".
24. When the Warriors learned that Ajax had been arrested, Vermin said that he bet Ajax went down how?

Answer: Swinging

Ajax punched out one cop, but he was quickly subdued by a big cop with a nightstick.
25. What is the title of the song played at the end of the movie?

Answer: In The City

Joe Walsh sings "In the City" which could be found on the "Long Run" album by the Eagles.
