Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "It's been a really, really messed up week, seven days of torture, seven days of bitter"

Answer: Tonight Tonight

"Tonight Tonight" was released as a single on March 15, 2011. Writing the song was a collaborative process between Hot Chelle Rae's Ryan Follese and Nash Overstreet, and songwriters Evan Kidd Bogart (whose work also includes "Classic" by MKTO and Beyonce's "Halo"), Lindy Robbins (who has also worked with artists like Demi Lovato, Backstreet Boys, and David Guetta), and Emanuel Kiriakou (who also produced the track and previously wrote songs for Celine Dion and Selena Gomez). The song was highly successful, as it reached the 7th position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and even reached the top spot in the US Adult Top 40 chart.

Hot Chelle Rae started with the name Miracle Drug but they changed it in 2005. The band, made of Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, Jamie Follese, and Ian Keaggy (who left in 2013) originated in Tennessee, and released their first album as Hot Chelle Rae, "Lovesick Electric", in 2009. A second and more popular album, "Whatever", was released in 2011 and featured "Tonight Tonight".
2. "Missed my ride home, lost my iPhone, I wouldn't have it any other way, if you're with me let me hear you say..."

Answer: I Like It Like That

"I Like It Like That" was released as a single on October 4, 2011. Many people are credited as the songwriters, including Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, Evan Kidd Bogart, Lindy Robbins, Alexei Misoul, Dan Book, Emanuel Kiriakou and Andrew Goldstein (also known as FRND).

The last two songwriters also produced the track. The song was fairly successful, as it failed to make it above the 28th position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was slightly more popular in Belgian and New Zealandese charts, reaching the 7th and 9th position respectively.

The song was used as the first track of the album "Whatever".
3. "I'm dying here (dying here), 'cause I can't say what I want to"

Answer: Bleed

"Bleed", Hot Chelle Rae's second single, was released on August 3, 2010. The song was co-written by Ryan Follese, Nick Trevisick, and interestingly, the parents of the Follese brothers (Keith and Adrienne). The piece reached position 31 in the Billboard US Mainstream Top 40 chart. The song was included in the band's first studio album, "Lovesick Electric".

Jive Records, the label that released the album, became defunct in 2011, after which it was absorbed by RCA Records.
4. "Touch me, tell me I'm your everything, the air you breathe"

Answer: Why Don't You Love Me

"Why Don't You Love Me" was released as part of the album "Whatever", in 2011. The song was written by Nash Overstreet and Martin Johnson (vocalist of the group Boys Like Girls). Dan Book, Alexei Misoul, and Andrew Goldstein/FRND produced the song. FRND is also known for working with Demi Lovato, who was featured in "Why Don't You Love Me".
5. "Well, I guess this is quite a mess that we got caught in, it's best if we just confess that we have fallen"

Answer: Problematique

"Problematique" was released as part of the album "Lovesick Electric", in 2010. The word "problematique" literally translates from French as "problematic" (and the context of the song indicates that this is indeed the definition listeners should abide by).

However, in French, the term "problematique" can also refer to a question in research used to address broad issues. Maybe Hot Chelle Rae meant it in that way?
6. "I smell her sweet perfume, making rounds around the room, 'cause she's a..."

Answer: Downtown Girl

"Downtown Girl" was the ninth track of the album "Whatever", and it was co-written by Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, Jamie Moore, Alexei Misoul, Dan Book, and Andrew Goldstein/FRND (the last three also produced the song).

Since 2011, Hot Chelle Rae has toured with other reputable artists, such as Demi Lovato, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Taylor Swift.
7. "I'mma go 'cause I got no problem with saying goodbye, is it wrong that I'm gonna be having the time of my life?"

Answer: Honestly

"Honestly" was released as a single on March 22, 2012 and included in the album "Whatever". Songwriters included Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, Ian Keaggy, Sam Hollander (a prolific songwriter also known for collaborating with Capital Cities, One Direction, and Gym Class Heroes), Dave Katz/Sluggo (who was written songs for Train, Metro Station, and Roger Daltrey), and Claude Kelly, who in 2012 received two Grammy Award nominations for Song of the Year (Bruno Mars' "Grenade") and Best R&B Song (Ledisi's "Pieces of Me").

The song peaked at 30 in the US Pop Songs Billboard chart, and also made an appearance in the Belgian Ultratip Flanders chart.
8. "So if you do just get on the floor, forget the romance, this is what music was created for"

Answer: I Like To Dance

"I Like To Dance" was the first single ever released by Hot Chelle Rae, on July 31, 2009. It was included as the second track of their debut album "Lovesick Electric", an album that was produced by Eric Valentine (who has also worked with Good Charlotte, Third Eye Blind, and Smash Mouth), Butch Walker (former member of SouthGang) and Matt Radosevich or Matt Rad (who has written and produced songs for Olly Murs, Andy Grammer, and Boyz II Men).

Approximately by the end of 2014, Hot Chelle Rae took a hiatus and became inactive. Vocalist Ryan Follese pursued other endeavors, such as a career in solo country music.
9. "No matter where I'm at, no matter where I go, I'll be singing for you"

Answer: Radio

"Radio" was the fifth track of the album "Whatever", and it was co-written by Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, Emanuel Kirakou, Evan Kidd Bogart, Bryan Folk, Lindy Robbins, and Brandon Green/Bei Maejor, who was also featured in the song by singing one of the verses. Maejor has also worked with artists like Justin Bieber, Ne-Yo, and Austin Mahone.
10. "You are, you are the proof, that love is beautiful, you are, you are the truth, something unusual"

Answer: The Only One

"The Only One" was the eleventh track of the album "Whatever", and it was co-written by Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, Ian Keaggy, and Jesse Frasure, who has also worked with artists like Kylie Minogue, Florida Georgia Line, and Meghan Trainor. Frasure also works as a DJ, under the name Telemitry.
