Sonny and Cher hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with their fourth single release "I Got You Babe". The record reportedly sold over five million copies and secured Sonny and Cher's future both as a duo and individually as solo artists. Herman's Hermits scored a number one hit with "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter". The record was a number one on the Billboard Hot 100 after only three weeks. In Australia the record reached number one in its second week on the charts and stayed at the top for 5 weeks. The song was not released in their native UK as a single. The song was written by well known British actor Trevor Peacock and was often played by bands at parties where the hostesses name was substituted.

As a member of a group in the mid sixties we played a sixteenth birthday party for a girl friend of a work mate. It was our dumb luck that the surname we had to introduce into the song was ROYLSTON-O'CALLAGHAN.
10. "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction"

Answer: The Rolling Stones

Number one everywhere in the solar system was how a Disc Jockey in Sydney described the Rolling Stones hit (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" or "Satisfaction" as it is commonly known. The DJ was playing the weekly top ten in August 1965 and I recall the number two song that week was "A Walk in the Black Forest\' by Horst Jankowski. "Satisfaction" was indeed a number one in Australia and New Zealand, the UK both The Cashbox and the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA.

The song was the first number one hit to make extensive use of the fuzz tone, successfully used later in the year by the Spencer Davis Group with their hit "Keep on Running"
