In 2005 he became chairman of the UK version of 'The Apprentice' ending each show with telling the losing contestant 'you're fired' which soon became a catchphrase.

The following year she met George Ware who became her agent. Until the two met she had relied on singing other performers songs which brought the threat of injunction. He decided she needed to change her stage name from Bella Delmere to Marie Lloyd. With her new name her career blossomed and she became in demand not only in Britain but also in America. Throughout her life she faced censorship because her songs were considered too risqué. Throughout her live she was known for her generosity, so when she died in 1922 she was practically penniless.

However she was not forgotten: over 50,000 people lined the route of her cortage which needed ten cars to carry the flowers.

Jack Cohen served in the First World War and 1919 he used his £30 demob money to buy surplus NAAFI goods to sell from a local market stall. The business was such a success soon he was able to expand with more stalls and an wholesale business. It was after a visit to America that he decided supermarkets were the future.

He was knighted in 1969. A blue plaque now marks the street in Whitechapel where he lived as a child. Tesco remains one of the top four supermarket chains in Britain.
