Answer: Workers of the world, unite!

A variation of this line also appears on Marx's gravestone and was used as the state motto of the USSR. Originally written in German as "Proletarier aller Länder, vereinigt Euch!", the literal translation would be "Proletarians of all countries, unite!"
"A spectre is haunting Europe - the spectre of communism" is the first line of the Manifesto.
6. Marx is often misquoted as saying " ------- is the opium of the masses".

Answer: Religion

What he actually said was "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people," which is far more poetic.
He also had this to say about religion, "Religion is the impotence of the human mind to deal with occurrences it cannot understand."

Answer: Friedrich Engels
