He was the Illinois High School Player of the Year as a senior in 1982(6'6" 220 lb. QB/S). At Ohio State, they turned him into a LB, where he played with Chris Spielman and was an All-American, and a first round draft choice of the Miami Dolphins. He played defensive tackle for four years before injuries forced him to retire.
