1. In what year were the club formed?

Answer: 1883

The club were formed as Singers FC, but changed their name to Coventry City in 1898.
2. Where did the club first play their home matches?

Answer: Binley Road

The club played at Binley Road between 1892-97, followed by Stoke Road until 1899, when they moved into Highfield Road.
3. Who was the club's first manager in their history?

Answer: H R Buckle

Buckle managed the club in the 1909-10 season, and made way for Wallace (1910-13), followed by Scott-Walford between 1913-15, and Clayton for nine months of 1919, after World War I had interrupted the League schedule.

Buckle was the first football manager. Before him the club's operations were "run" by the Secretary.
4. In which season were Coventry first elected into the Football League?

Answer: 1919-20

Coventry finished 20th out of 22 in Division Two, just two points ahead of relegation.
5. Coventry won the FA Cup for the first time in 1987. Who did they beat in the final?

Answer: Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs took the lead in the 2nd minute through Clive Allen, but Dave Bennett equalised for Coventry seven minutes later. Five minutes before half-time, Gary Mabbutt put Tottenham ahead 2-1, and in the 63rd minute, Keith Houchen levelled the score with a fantastic diving header.

The game went into extra-time, and in the 96th minute, Mabbutt went from Spurs' hero to villain, as he was credited with an own goal, which gave Coventry the FA Cup with a 3-2 win.
6. Which club did Coventry sell Brian Kilcline to in 1991?

Answer: Oldham Athletic

'Killer' Kilcline started his career at Notts County, and played there between 1980-84, until moving to Coventry, where he stayed until 1991. After his Coventry career, he had spells at Oldham, Newcastle, Swindon and Mansfield Town, before hanging up his boots in 1998 with Halifax Town.

Ogrizovic played 502 times for Coventry between 1984-99.
