Ronnie completed the maximum without chalking his cue once.
2. On the subject of 147s, when Cliff Thorburn made his 147 in 1983 (against Terry Griffiths) which fellow Canadian stopped his match to watch?

Answer: Bill Werbeniuk

The match on the adjoining table was stopped and the curtain raised to allow the crowd on the other side could see. Sadly Cliff found out shortly after that his wife had lost their child.

Answer: Yes

John Spencer claimed much of the winnings out of a total prize fund of 17,000.

It was the largest ever defeat in the World Championship. Parrott was exhausted having put all his efforts into reaching the final. He won it two years later.
