5. The Wolverines play in a stadium which, after renovations in 2010, had an official capacity of 109,951 fans (but has held over 115,000 for a game). After those renovations it was the largest stadium in the USA, and third largest in the world. What is this stadium known as?

Answer: The Big House

The stadium was built in 1927. Every home game since November 8, 1975 has drawn a crowd of over 100,000 fans. On September 7, 2013, an attendance record was set as 115,109 fans watched Michigan defeat Notre Dame. By contrast, according to the US Census Bureau, the population of Ann Arbor, Michigan, where the stadium is located, was 116,121 in 2012. (Wonder where the other 1000 people were that day.)

7. Every year Michigan plays another Big Ten team for the coveted "Little Brown Jug". What team is this?

Answer: Minnesota

The same 5-gallon jug has been played for since 1909, with the winning team getting the right to display it for the next year. The jug was originally used for drinking water for the Michigan team, and was accidentally left behind after a game in Minnesota in 1903. Michigan didn't return to Minnesota until 1909, and a tradition began.
8. On November 18, 2006, Michigan, then ranked #2, played another team, then ranked #1, for the Big Ten championship, and a shot at the national championship. Who beat Michigan 42-39 in this match, called the "game of the century"?

Both teams went into the game with 11-0 records. Sadly, Michigan's former coach Bo Schembechler passed away the day before the game.
9. Many people remember that Michigan won the national championship in 1997, which was their first championship in many years. How many times did Michigan win the national championships before 1950?

Michigan won championships in 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1918, 1923, 1932, 1933,1947, and 1948. Their next championship wasn't until 1997.
