Aaron won the 1953 Sally League MVP. One sportswriter commented, "Henry Aaron led the league in everything except hotel accommodations." He did lead the league in hits, runs, RBI, doubles, and batting average, but as it was the 1950s, Aaron never got to stay or eat with his team at hotels and restaurants.

As a kid he worked on an ice truck. In the days before, everyone had refrigerators. The ice truck would drive around the residential neighborhoods and sell chunks of ice to customers that they would then put in their icebox. It was Aaron's job to chip off the chunks of ice from a block in the truck.

It was from picking at these blocks of ice that Aaron says he got his powerful wrists.

Bobby Thomson is best known for his home run as a New York Giant off Ralph Branca during the three-game playoff against the Brooklyn Dodgers that gave the Giants the pennant. The home run was called, "The Shot Heard Round the World", and is arguably the most famous home run of all-time.
8. What Braves relief pitcher caught Aaron's 715 home run when it flew into the bullpen?

Answer: Tom House

Tom House says he does not remember running from the left field bullpen to home plate with the ball. He just remembered catching it and glad he could give it back to Aaron. Next thing he remembers is being at home plate and handing Aaron the ball. House went on to be a successful pitching coach for the Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres, Houston Astros, and Chiba Lotte Marines of the Pacific League (Japan).

In his Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Nolan Ryan thanked Tom for his help when Ryan was a Ranger.
9. Who was on-deck for the Atlanta Braves when Aaron passed Babe Ruth?

Answer: Dusty Baker

Baker went on to a solid Major League career with the Braves, Dodgers, Giants, and Athletics. He is best remembered as a manager for the Giants and Cubs. He later became an analyst for ESPN.
10. Where is the recreational trail called the Hank Aaron State Trail located?

Answer: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The trail is a walking/biking/skating trail that runs from Miller Park to Lake Michigan.
