1. In which year were the club formed?

Answer: 1885

The club's original name was Southampton St. Mary's but they quickly changed it to Southampton FC.
2. Who was the club's first manager in their history?

Answer: Cecil Knight

Knight was manager between 1894-95, followed by Robson (1895-97), Arnfield (1897-1911) and Swift took over for one season between 1911-12. Southampton have had some famous names in the hot seat over the years, including Glenn Hoddle, Graeme Souness, Lawrie McMenemy and Gordon Strachan.
3. Where did the club first play their home matches?

Answer: Antelope Ground

The Antelope Ground was used between 1885-97, followed by the County Cricket Ground for the 1897-98 season, and The Dell was used until 2001, when they moved into St. Mary's Stadium. Matt Le Tissier scored the final goal at The Dell on 19th May, 2001 in a 3-2 victory over Arsenal.
4. In which year did Southampton win the FA Cup for the first time in their history?

Answer: 1976

Bobby Stokes scored the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute against Manchester United. This was the only time Southampton won the FA Cup during the 20th century.
