Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. A sensual scene was the opening for the episode. It was quickly interrupted by the WIFE of the man in the bed with another woman. He called his lover, Jenna. The beautiful, sexy, blonde Jenna was portrayed by a lovely television favorite actress. Who?

Answer: Morgan Fairchild

Morgan Fairchild was the first actress to play Jenna Wade for this series - she would NOT be the only one to do so. Fairchild is a native Texan. With the birth name Patsy Ann McClenny, she was born in Dallas (Texas) in 1950 and thus may have been considered a natural choice for the role.

In addition to prime time drama appearances her work also includes daytime soap operas, TV mini-series and made for TV movies.
2. As another day begun the Ewings were all at their breakfast table. We learned that the man in the discommodious bedroom scene was Maynard Anderson, a long-time ally of the Ewings who had just accepted an appointment with the Department of Energy. Which Ewing family member received a phone call from Anderson just as breakfast was finished?

Answer: J.R.

Anderson called to ask that J.R. see to it that Jenna left town so the federal appointment could proceed without an embarrassing delay. J.R. took Jenna's number from Anderson and promised his help but not without reminding him just how much they had always meant to each other. Knowing J.R., this was where the scheme began.
3. As J.R. and Bobby arrived at Ewing Oil a pretty blonde was calling Bobby's name from the convertible parked in front of the building. It was Jenna Wade. She and Bobby exchanged a brief and pleasant greeting before she made her point. What did she say that convinced Bobby to go for a drive with her?

Answer: "Bobby, I'm in trouble"

Hearing those words, Bobby replied, "Well, sweetheart, you have never been a stranger to that". In her best pouty and pitiful way, Jenna told Bobby she needed his advice. The two sped away in her car to talk and stroll in the park. There we the viewing audience heard a lot of the back story about Bobby and Jenna.

It appeared they did have a history and Jenna was already dropping hints about a future.
4. Pam arrived at Ewing Oil ready for her lunch date with Bobby just as a taxi left taking Bobby to meet with Jenna. As the receptionist explained to Pam that she had just missed Bobby, J.R. became the official company greeter. What was J.R. carrying as he babbled about it to Pam?

Answer: A small potted palm plant

J.R.'s ramblings about his potted plant were just a ruse. He was too delighted to hide his satisfaction when he told Pam that Jenna Wade had called and Bobby left to meet her. In a most beguiling manner J.R. wanted to tell Pam just how close Bobby and Jenna had always been. Pam did not take his bait; she was just as crafty as J.R.

As she left his office J.R. could not help but show some disappointment that he did not really upset Pam with his tales of true love. Especially since he had orchestrated the reunion of Bobby and Jenna.
5. It seemed Jenna needed Bobby's help in every aspect of her new life as a previously kept woman. What did Bobby suggest that Pam do when Jenna called (one more time!) and asked him to meet her at noon that same day?

Answer: Bobby suggested Pam come with him to meet with Jenna

Things became very tense between Bobby and Pam due to Jenna's constant neediness and Bobby's concern, protection and involvement with Jenna. On the morning after Bobby had come back to Southfork "after midnight" because he needed to help his "old friend" with moving, he and Pam argued about the time he had spent with Jenna.

When Jenna called on Bobby, yet again, he invited Pam to go with him to meet her, hoping to soothe Pam's grievances.
6. Although Bobby signed the lease and paid the move-in expenses on Jenna's apartment, it was J.R. who was among her earliest visitors. He used the opportunity to plant a seed he hoped would grow into Jenna coming between Bobby and Pam. What did he tell Jenna was her "high card" in this plan?

Answer: That she had Bobby's child

Jenna admitted to J.R. that she knew it was HIS plan to use her to break-up Bobby and Pam, to which J.R. responded, "Well, if we both profit, so much the better". Jenna did not let J.R. know it if she understood his innuendo of the "high card". He finally had to say it to Jenna: She had Bobby's child and Bobby would never turn his back on that. Obviously, it was enough to give Jenna the hope of a reconciliation - and, a new plan.
7. Hoping to vent her frustrations about Bobby's care and concern for Jenna and Charlie on sympathetic ears, Pam agreed to have lunch with her brother, Cliff, even after Bobby was a no-show to join them. During that lunch Cliff had news of his own to share with Pamela - he had decided to enter the world of Texas politics by running for office. Which office did he intend to seek?

Answer: State Senator

Cliff had practiced law in the Dallas area (apparently) for several years and felt it was time for him to contribute to the improvement of society via his representation. Since Cliff was, well, a Barnes, he knew it would not take the Ewings long to decide to support his opponent in the election.

As Cliff left the restaurant he bumped into Bobby, who was with Jenna. After brief and awkward introductions, Cliff punctuated his suspicions as to why Bobby missed lunch with him and Pam by saying, "Bobby, you're getting more like J.R. every day".
8. Miss Ellie noticed Pam was alone at the fence of a nearby paddock and joined her there to ask about Bobby's whereabouts. Pam told Miss Ellie of her concerns about Bobby's feelings for Jenna and, especially, for Jenna's daughter, Charlie. Miss Ellie advised Pam with a story of her own past that involved an unusual "tool" which had helped Jock to see things her way. What tool?

Answer: A horse whip

Ever the rancher, Miss Ellie must have had a horse whip within reach when she confronted Jock those many years ago - or so she would have Pam to believe. Her point was that Pam needed to do whatever she thought was necessary if she really wanted Bobby to stay with her. Pam assured Miss Ellie that she REALLY wanted Bobby as she left the paddock and walked toward the house.
9. Later in the evening, after Pam and Bobby had argued, she found Bobby at Jenna's apartment. It was the perfect time to get some answers. With her voice matching the sternness of her facial expression, Pam demanded of Jenna, "Well, is Bobby the father of your child or not"? What was Jenna's response?

Answer: "No"

Ah, Charlie's father. In this episode Jenna admitted to Pam and Bobby that Bobby was NOT the father of her daughter. Pam was surprised that Jenna did not "lie" (as she said it) and say that Bobby was the father whether he was or not. Jenna simply responded, "I can't. Never could. Even J.R. should have known that." But we the regular, series viewing audience know that the paternity of that child would flip-flop like a flounder through the years.
10. It seemed that Pam and Jenna had put Bobby on the spot - which one would it be for him? They wanted to know. Bobby had signed the lease over to Jenna's name and had given her a check to cover a year of rent. What did Jenna and Bobby both (yet, at different times) call this generous gesture?

Answer: A good-bye gift

Jenna told Pam about the lease and the check. Jenna also told Pam it was J.R. who had contacted her and continued to encourage her relationship with Bobby. Pam seemed to let it slide with only a brief acknowledgement but certainly she filed that fact in her mental folder for future reference. Bobby and Pam shared a tender moment outside Jenna's apartment as they expressed their love for each other and decided to "go home" - together.
