In Greek Mythology, The Trojan Horse was used as a military tactic in winning the battle of Troy. The Greeks constructed this large wooden horse, hiding their best soldiers inside, and offered the horse as a peace offering to the Trojans. Once inside the city walls, the Greeks unleashed a surprise attack, thus winning the battle. Buffy understands that "Adam's gonna make sure the demons attack The Initiative from the inside."

The Scoobies have just realized that Adam has planned for a huge massacre of demon against man. Willow: "And Adam has a neat pile of body parts to start assembling his army. Diabolical, yet...gross." Xander: "Does anybody else miss the Mayor, I just wanna be a big snake?"

At this point, the gang are deciding whether they could do a paralyzing spell on Adam. They soon realize that only an experienced witch would be able to do the incantation (in Sumerian) and they would have to be with striking distance of Adam. Not such a good idea, especially for Willow!

Giles says this to Xander as they are about to break into The Initiative. Giles obviously has his own reservations.

Willow has just asked Xander if he is nervous. His response? "I'm full of that good old kamikaze spirit." The word kamikaze is in reference to Japanese aircraft pilots who would be enlisted to perform suicidal attacks.

Adam is sensing that Buffy is on the way to The Initiative. Spike (who has made sure that Buffy will come) is poking fun at Adam, who is constructed of several human, demon, and robot parts.

Buffy asks Willow, "How you doing?" Willow replies, "Super! What was I thinking, using the stairs all this time?" They end up having a heart-to-heart on the way down, which culminates in a group hug, and makes Xander think that they are all going to die.

Very funny moment! Colonel McNamara searches their bag, looking for weapons, and all he finds are magical supplies. This prompts him to say, "What kind of freaks are you people?"

Professor Walsh and Dr. Angleman are "artificially reanimated workers with basic to moderate brain activity." Basically, they are walking corpses, which makes them fairly easy to defeat.

Giles is Sophos (Mind), Willow is Spiritus (Spirit), Xander is Animus (Heart), and Buffy is Manus (Hand). Willow incants "the power of the Slayer and all who yield it. Last to ancient first, we invoke thee. Grant us thy domain and primal strength. Accept us in the power we possess. Make us mind and heart and spirit joy. Let the hand encompass us. Do thy will."
