Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. To what does the Doctor compare the bigger-on-the-inside TARDIS when Maebh first enters it?

Answer: A glass of Coke

Maebh arrives at the TARDIS, having been chased by an unseen threat. She asks the Doctor to help her and he allows her to enter. Maebh is in awe of the TARDIS when she goes inside. The Doctor comes up to her and explains that the TARDIS being bigger on the inside is a bit like a small glass of Coke with a lot of sugar in it.

He questions why she didn't mention it (as is customary for new arrivals). She assumes it's supposed to be bigger on the inside so that's why she doesn't say anything. The Doctor seems surprised because "most people are confused by that".
2. Where in London is the TARDIS parked?

Answer: Trafalgar Square

The Doctor is frustrated at the TARDIS' terrestrial navigation (which he thinks isn't working properly). Maebh says it isn't broken and that they are in the middle of London. He denies it, saying they're in the middle of a forest. Maebh then takes him outside and shows him Nelson's Column, proving that they are indeed in London.

The camera rises high into the sky to the top of the column and shows London completely covered by a forest.
3. What musical does the Doctor say he hasn't seen, because his life is "too short" for it?

Answer: Les Misérables

With the students of Coal Hill School emerging from the London Zoological Museum after a sleepover and seeing this mysterious new forest, Clara telephones the Doctor and says that for once, she has something amazing to show him, as opposed to him showing her something.

The Doctor admits there are things he hasn't seen, mainly because he chooses not to see them. "Even my incredibly long life is too short for Les Misérables," he says.
4. During the Ice Age, humans cooked and ate mammoths. What does the Doctor say they'll eat, now that they're in some sort of Tree Age?

Answer: Nuts

The Doctor is completely baffled by the sudden appearance of the forest. Ruby accidentally breaks off a branch and sees that it has no rings. Danny dismisses the fact that an entire forest could just spring up overnight. The Doctor mentions the Ice Age and how glaciers were suddenly formed.

He says that these sorts of natural phenomena are how Earth grows: "a series of catastrophes". He also mentions people eating mammoths during the Ice Age; with the new abundance of tree life, the Doctor suggests eating nuts. Bradley pipes up and says he's allergic to nuts so he can't eat them.
5. What is the first thing found by the Doctor and Clara as they search the forest for Maebh?

Answer: Her phone

With the rest of the kids safe in the TARDIS with Danny, Clara and the Doctor go in search of Maebh, who has got herself lost in the forest again. The Doctor tries tracking her phone with the sonic screwdriver and they end up finding on the ground. The Doctor suggests that she could have put it down because she "doesn't want to be followed" or "lost a hold of it in a struggle" or "left it as a clue so we would know where she was going".

The Doctor seems convinced it is the latter and that she's leaving a trail of breadcrumbs, a la "Hansel and Gretel".

Other items that Maebh leaves as clues include a pencil case and her lunchbox.
6. What animal scares off the wolves that pursued Maebh through the forest?

Answer: Tiger

Maebh stops suddenly, sensing something nearby. A pair of eyes glow in the bushes behind her. She turns around to see three sets of eyes looking back at her. The wolves start growling and she screams in terror. Clara and the Doctor hear her scream and begin looking for her.

They eventually find each other on opposite sides of a fence and Maebh quickly crosses it through a nearby gate. The wolves reach the fence and growl at the three of them. Then, one by one, they leap over the fence and run off, whimpering.

The Doctor wonders what scared them off, and a tiger wanders into the area, baring its teeth. Danny then appears and shines a light in the tiger's eyes, disorientating it and causing it wander off.
7. The Doctor says he can fight monsters, but he can't fight what?

Answer: Physics

After talking briefly with the mysterious, firefly-like creatures that surround Maebh, the Doctor begins to wonder if there is anything he can do at all to save the planet or stop the incoming solar flare. He says, "I can fight monsters; I can't fight physics!" Clara asks why the trees would want to kill the humans, because they all love trees.

The Doctor suggests it's because humans have been chopping them down for years to make furniture and that this would be reason enough for them to be "calling down fire from the heavens". Clara points out that she has seen many Earth futures in which it hasn't been destroyed by a solar flare and the Doctor says that "they're about to be erased."
8. What doesn't Clara want to be?

Answer: The last of her kind

Helpless against the approaching solar flare, Clara suggests that the Doctor saves who he can if he can't save everyone. When they reach the TARDIS, Clara tells him that he can't take the kids with him in the TARDIS because he won't know what to do with them and they'll want their parents.

She also says he can't save her and Danny, because he will not abandon the kids. Finally, she reluctantly says that he can't save her because she doesn't want to be the "last of her kind", a feeling the Doctor lives with every day as the last remaining Time Lord. Clara admits that she brought them all back to the TARDIS so that she can save the Doctor and let him fly away, out of harm's way.
9. Who ends up watching the solar flare/coronal ejection with the Doctor in the TARDIS, floating high above the planet?

Answer: Just Clara

With the kids admitting they want their mum and Danny having seen enough new things in his life, it's just Clara who joins the Doctor and watches as the solar flare engulfs Earth. The outside layer of trees take the full impact of the flare, using the huge amount of oxygen generated by them to smother the flames and keep the planet safe. Once the flare subsides, the trees disappear one by one and everything goes back to normal.
10. What does Missy say she loves (albeit dully)?

Answer: Surprises

While the Doctor and Clara watch the solar flare from the TARDIS, Missy (the mysterious woman from Heaven/Paradise/the Afterlife/the Nethersphere) watches the events unfold on a screen. Seemingly unimpressed with Earth surviving, she remarks, "Now, that was surprising, and I love surprises."
