Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Once the victim sees the Foretold (that's the mummy), they have how many seconds left to live?

Answer: 66

Flickering lights.
A temporary power drain.
Start the clock.
In the pre-titles sequence, an old woman sees the mummy coming towards her. However, only she can see it; to everyone else in the car, it just looks like an old woman shouting at thin air. As the clock counts down and the mummy gets closer, stretching its arms out to touch her, she becomes hysterical. The clock hits zero and the woman is dead. As we later find out, "They that bear the Foretold's stare have 66 seconds to live." But why?
2. Where does the TARDIS arrive aboard the Orient Express?

Answer: Baggage car

At first, you'd think it's strange that Clara seems to be on amicable terms with the Doctor, given her outburst at the end of "Kill the Moon". As they make their way out of the baggage car and enter the lounge, it becomes clear as they talk that this visit to the Orient Express in space is "a trip to end on".

It seems Clara is still giving up her travelling life with the Doctor. She doesn't like the way this particular brusque and emotionally removed incarnation of the Doctor goes about things.
3. Captain Quell asks what sort of doctor the Doctor is. What is the Doctor's reply?

Answer: Intestinal parasites

Having just been accused by the grieving Miss Pitt of lying (the supposed lie in question was that the Doctor could not have been on a particular planet that was destroyed thousands of years ago), the train's captain has her escorted back to her room and introduces himself to the Doctor and Clara. Quell notes that the Doctor is amongst like-minded people on the train, as there seems to be a large number of doctors and professors aboard.

When questioned on what sort of Doctor he is, the Doctor quips, "Now that's a question that's never asked often enough. Let's say... intestinal parasites." Quell suggests that perhaps Miss Pitt's accusation of the Doctor being a liar wasn't so wrong after all.
4. What does Miss Pitt use to break the door controls and gain access to the train's storage room?

Answer: A shoe

Clara sees Miss Pitt heading down towards the baggage car and follows her to see if she is alright. Still shocked from the death of her grandmother, Miss Pitt wants to see her body one last time. She tries to pass through a locked door, but the computer rejects her attempts. Eventually, she whacks it with the heel of her shoe and shorts out the electrics, opening the door.

It promptly closes behind them, leaving them trapped inside.
5. What item of food does the Doctor offer Professor Moorhouse when he quizzes him on the Foretold?

Answer: A jelly baby

The Doctor approaches Professor Moorhouse, an expert on alien mythology, and asks him what the most interesting thing about the Foretold is. After dismissing the time limit of 66 seconds between seeing the Foretold and dying, the Doctor produces a cigarette case from his pocket, inside which is a selection of jelly babies. He offers one to Moorhouse and he gladly accepts it.
6. What job does the second victim of the Foretold have aboard the Orient Express?

Answer: Chef

The lights dim, the clock starts and the Foretold makes itself apparent to one of the chefs in the kitchen. Panicking, the chef tries to fend it off while his colleagues try and placate him, unaware of the invisible creature making its way towards its next victim.

The frightened chef begins brandishing a knife in an attempt to fend off his shambling assassin and shuts himself in the walk-in fridge to get away from it. The Foretold then appears inside the fridge with him and moves in for the kill.
7. What does the Doctor's psychic paper say he is, according to Captain Quell?

Answer: Mystery shopper

After the death of the chef, the Doctor wants to talk to Quell about what's going on. He says that he is the captain's worst nightmare, handing over the psychic paper. To their surprise, the Doctor appears to be a "mystery shopper". The Doctor, assuming this new identity, requests an extra pillow and expresses his disappointment at the train's breakfast bar and "all of the dying".
8. What's the name of the train's on-board computer?

Answer: Gus

Voiced by comedian John Sessions, Gus is the train's computer whose intentions are not immediately clear. It's only when the Doctor sees through the train's façade that Gus reveals it is a travelling laboratory. All the passengers on the train, experts in their respective fields, were deliberately placed there by Gus in an elaborate plan to study and ultimately capture the Foretold. Getting more malevolent by the minute, Gus decompresses the kitchen and causes them to be sucked out into space when the Doctor stops working to telephone Clara.
9. What does the Doctor say that stops the Foretold from trying to kill him?

Answer: "We surrender!"

With five victims down, the Foretold comes for its sixth victim - Miss Pitt. The Doctor intervenes by scanning Miss Pitt's mind and implanting her mummy-attracting emotions and thoughts of grief within his own head. This causes the Foretold to change targets and focus on him instead.

The Doctor figures out that the Foretold is a centuries-old soldier, filled with alien technology to keep it alive. Driven to murder in order to protect its flag (which, up until that point, was thought to be just an ancient scroll on the wall of the lab), the Doctor shouts "We surrender!" and the Foretold stops in its tracks.

These two words end the war for it. It gives a final salute to the Doctor and crumbles into dust.
10. What does Clara describe the Doctor's time- and space-travelling life as?

Answer: An addiction

Clara asks if the Doctor loves "being the man making the impossible choice", referring to their constant adventures and escapades where the life of others hangs in the balance. "It's my life," he replies. Clara then asks, "Is it like an addiction?" to which the Doctor says that you don't know if it's an addiction until you try giving it up. With Clara's impending departure from the TARDIS, Danny calls her and he says he'll see her soon. Unable to give up her life with the Doctor, Clara tells him that Danny is okay with her going off into space and that she wants to keep travelling in the TARDIS.

As long as she gets home safely and on time, she's happy.
