Answer: Edmonton

Leaving Spotted Lake in Osoyoos, British Columbia, teams were told to fly to Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta, six hundred miles away. Upon landing in Edmonton, teams were told to head to Churchill Square in front of Edmonton City Hall where they needed to interrupt a justice of the peace performing a wedding ceremony.

This clue-giver would send them back to their taxis to head to their Detour task.
2. Teams completed a Blind Detour in Leg 11 (in Alberta), choosing between 'Paper' or what other option?

Answer: Plastic

Teams receiving their Detour clue were sent to the Edmonton Waste Management Centre where they found a Blind Detour, requiring teams to pick one of two Detour options without fully knowing what was involved. In 'Paper', teams had to head to the conveyor belts to sort paper items from non-paper items, weighing out a certain amount by the end.

In 'Plastic', teams needed to work to properly salvage dead television sets, dismantling six to get their next clue. Brent and Sean chose 'Paper'; Simi and Ope, Gino and Jesse and Nick and Matt completed 'Plastic'.

After completing the Detour teams traveled by taxi to the Ottewell Curling Club for the second of two Face-Offs in the race. Here, teams needed to go head to head playing curling with the advancing team being the closest to the button by the end of the round.

The last team, Simi and Ope, had to turn over an hourglass and wait it out to continue. After this task, teams traveled to a Petro-Canada gas station in St. Albert where they had to spend 250,000 Petro-Points in a minute and a half (and only on food and drink) to get their next clue.

Heading out from the Face-Off, teams ended up traveling to Fort Edmonton Park for their Road Block task. There, one member of each team needed to memorize lines in a script as the role of a bar proprietor during a historical reenactment. Brent, Matt, Jesse, and Ope completed this task at Kelly's Saloon, eventually hitting all of their marks to the satisfaction of their fellow actors. Matt, Ope, and Brent were required to finish this task to even out Road Block tallies going into the final leg of the race.

After their Road Block task, teams were told to proceed to their next Pit Stop, the Muttart Conservatory in Cloverdale, Edmonton. After maintaining a lead coming out of the Detour and Face-Off, Brent and Sean were the first to arrive at the Pit Stop, winning their second leg of the race and, this time, taking a trip for two to Dubai courtesy of Air Canada.

They also got two years of free gas from Petro-Canada. In the end, Simi and Ope arrived in last place, unable to forge ahead during this leg.

They were the last eliminated team, leaving three all-male teams in the last leg.

In the beginning of the last leg of the race, teams opened their clues in front of the Art Gallery of Alberta and proceeded to the airport. From Edmonton, they flew eleven hundred kilometres flew to Vancouver, British Columbia, the host of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Upon arriving, teams searched Terry Fox Plaza in BC Place, the home of the Olympic Stadium, to find their next clue box.

Arriving at BC Place, teams located a Road Block task where one team member needed to 'roll with it', harnessing up and riding a bicycle on the narrow roof support beams of the stadium two hundred feet above the ground. In addition, the beam racers would be riding on was painted to throw off their perception.

While some teams performed the task on their first go, others took significantly longer.
8. What city was the final destination visited by teams during the race?

Answer: Whistler

After completing the Road Block in Vancouver, teams had to drive themselves one hundred twenty kilometres north on the Sea to Sky Highway to the Whistler Olympic Plaza, their final destination for the race. There, teams were told to find the Squamish Lil'Wat Cultural Centre where they had to perform some complicated arithmetic to determine the distance traveled on the race course. Once they established a number within 5% of the actual total, 48,500 kilometres, they could head onward to the Bearfoot Bistro, where both team members needed to sabre open champagne bottles.

Answer: Skis

After reaching the Bearfoot Bistro, teams were told to ascend the Whistler Mountain gondola for a final Road Block task. At the top, Jesse, Nick, and Sean had to receive a ski and match it with its mate amongst hundreds waiting amongst the racks. Then, both team members would need to reach the Momentum Ski Camp on Blackcomb Peak and the Road Block participant would have to don the skis and perform a ski jump into a pool to collect their final clue.

After their final Road Block task, teams needed to race as fast as they could to the Finish Line, the Nicklaus North Gold Course in Whistler, British Columbia. There, they needed to race on foot to the twelfth hole and step on the last mat to win the whole thing.

In the end, Gino and Jesse ended up arriving first, leading for the entirety of the final leg and taking home the $250,000 prize, two Chevrolet Colorado trucks, gas for life from Petro-Canada, and a year of free travel in business class from Air Canada.

They were followed closely by Nick and Matt in second and Brent and Sean in third.
