Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first leg of the race, team members completed a physical Road Block task at which of these 'places'?

Answer: Ontario Place

Ontario Place, an amusement park on the Lake Ontario waterfront, played host to the race's second Road Block, completed by team members who opted out of the first Road Block found at TSN Sutdios. For this task, team members needed to complete a three-part obstacle course over and in the water, even though this proved a bit painful for some. Following this, racers ended up heading to center court at the Air Canada Center, making this a fairly sports-centric leg of the race.
2. This is the view from Cerro San Cristobel, which was also host to which of these in Leg 2 in Chile?

Answer: Pit Stop

Found in Santiago, the Chilean capital city, Cerro San Cristobel was the home of the second Pit Stop in this race, where teams checked in after a long day-- their first outside of Canada for this race. In this leg of the race, teams completed a paragliding task, spent time teaching art to children, and either dancing or learning poetry in the city streets.

At the Pit Stop, Susan and Sharnjit arrived in last place and were eliminated from the race. Hamilton and Michaelia arrived first, having used their Express Pass almost instantly.
3. In Leg 3, teams traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Did they visit the statue depicted?

Answer: No

The flower statue can be found in the Recoleta neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina. While racers in "The Amazing Race 5" visited said statue in the second leg of their race, teams traveling through the city on "The Amazing Race Canada 3" instead stopped at different locations including Plaza Canadá, Plaza de la República, and Puente de la Mujer. No tasks took place in Recoleta, an area known for its expansive cemetery and the final resting place of Eva Peron.
4. Leg 4 took place in what coastal Canadian city known for its harbour?

Answer: Halifax

During the fourth leg of the race, teams raced from Argentina to Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, where they visited several key landmarks including the Angus T. MacDonald Bridge and Citadel Hill before either working with lobsters or beer. In this leg of the race, many teams were neck in neck throughout the tasks but it didn't really matter too much; Hamilton and Michaelia were eliminated after losing their passport at the airport, preventing them from continuing on in the race.
5. The Magdalen Islands were the backdrop for Leg 5 of the race. In which province/territory could they be found?

Answer: Quebec

Teams headed out from Halifax to the Magdalen Islands for a series of extremely physical tasks on the shores and farms of this Canadian locale. Hitting the beaches for a Road Block, some teams were buried in the sand (and Kristin was sent to the hospital for debilitating leg cramps).

In a harbour, teams also participated in the first-ever Face-Off task playing kayak hockey (where both Simi and Ope and Neil and Kristin were forced to take penalties). In the end, some teams had to face a Double U-Turn before heading to the Pit Stop (and keeping on racing).
6. This big nickel would imply that teams traveled to what Ontario destination in Leg 6?

Answer: Sudbury

In Sudbury, teams began the leg with the expected tasks involving the town's mining industry by descending into the ground more than one kilometre below the surface and visiting the big Nickel, but soon after, tasks took a turn towards the more difficult as the Detour forced them to either push their physical abilities with a synchronized swim routine or stretch their mental limits by investigating a crime scene.

In the end of the leg, teams were greeted at the Pit Stop by native Sudburian Alex Trebek, host of "Jeopardy!".
7. In Leg 7, teams completed which of the following types of tasks in Wanuskewin Heritage Park?

Answer: Detour

Teams visited Wanuskewin Heritage Park in Leg 7 when they flew to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Amongst tasks completed in this leg of the race were a trampoline-related Road Block, a searching task at a local brewery, and a Northern Plains Indian-themed Detour.

This leg of the race ended on the open plains as teams raced into the horizon under the blue sky. In the end, Brent and Sean won their first leg of the race (using their Express Pass) while Neil and Kristin were eliminated.
8. The eighth and ninth legs of the race took place in what Asian nation?

Answer: India

The image should've been the hint there-- teams traveled to India and Humayun's Tomb, as depicted, was the second Pit Stop visited on the race route. In the eighth leg, teams headed to Kolkata while in the second they visited Delhi, the country's capital. During their stay in India, teams wrapped turbans, practiced yoga, got dirty wrestling, crushed chilies, and raced through the crowded streets pulling rickshaws. Only one team was eliminated in India: Brian and Cynthia.

The second leg was the second non-elimination leg.
9. The tenth leg of the race took teams to one of Canada's only natural deserts: Osoyoos. It's in which province?

Answer: British Columbia

The tenth leg of the race brought the final five teams back to Canada from India, sending them through a gauntlet of physical tasks in the farmlands of Penticton and the Okanagan Valley before dropping them off in Nk'Mip National Park, a land of rich Native heritage near the American border situated in one of the only Canadian deserts.

Here, Dujean and Leilani placed last and were eliminated from the race.
10. The Finish Line for "The Amazing Race Canada 3" was in Whistler, British Columbia.

Answer: True

In the twelfth leg of the race, teams flew to Vancouver, then drove themselves to Whistler, British Columbia for the final string of tasks, ending their lengthy journey around the world at the Nicklaus North Golf Course. There, brothers Gino and Jesse stepped on the mat in first place, winning the $250,000 grand prize, a year of free travel from Air Canada, two Chevrolet Colorado trucks, and gas for life from Petro-Canada. Nick and Matt and Brent and Sean came in second and third, respectively.
