Answer: Oresund Bridge

Opened in 2000, Oresund Bridge is a dual-carriageway road bridge which links the countries of Sweden and Denmark. Approximately five miles long, the bridge crosses a waterway called The Sound and takes people from Scania in Sweden to the Danish island of Zealand. The bridge features in the opening credits of the television series "The Bridge", as well as throughout the series.

Answer: Broen

The television series "The Bridge" was made as a joint collaboration between Denmark and Sweden. In Denmark they call the programme "Broen" and in Sweden they call it "Bron", both of which show on the opening credits. The series is spoken in both Danish and Swedish but with English subtitles used when aired in other countries. Hans Rosenfeldt, who wrote the series, has also written for other television dramas including "Wallander" and "The Sandhamn Murders".

Answer: Malmo and Copenhagen

In the first episode of "The Bridge", a woman's body was dumped exactly halfway along the bridge between Sweden and Denmark. This meant that jurisdiction fell between two police officers who worked from Malmo and Copenhagen. Initially fraught with tense atmosphere, the two officers eventually started working closely with each other to solve the case.

Answer: Martin Rohde

Martin Rohde was played by Danish actor, Kim Bodnia. Born in 1965, Bodnia studied drama at the National Theatre School in Copenhagen and took his first starring role in the 1991 stage version of "American Psycho". He later went on to appear in the 2014 film "Serena" which starred Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

The character he portrayed in "The Bridge" was of a friendly, family man, although his character became flawed later into the second series. Passionate about his policing job, his patience was often sorely tried when he was made to work with a Swedish counterpart to solve a crime.

Answer: Sofia Helin

Sofia Helin was born in Hovsta, Sweden, in 1972. She studied acting at the Stockholm Theatre Academy, and has appeared on Swedish television and film. This has included the epic 2007 film, "Arn The Knight Templar" where she played Cecilia, fiancé to the main protagonist of the film. The character she played in "The Bridge" proved very deep and emotional, often portrayed as rude and abrupt until the person watching got to know her better and realise there was more to her than met the eye.

Answer: Asperger's syndrome

People with Asperger's syndrome suffer in social situations, often finding it difficult to understand irony and jokes. Saga Noren often displayed the characteristics but the television producers have not yet admitted she suffers with Aspergers. Her police colleague from Denmark found it difficult to understand her character but once their friendship deepened, he eventually helped her behave in the social world. Sofia Helin who played Saga once quoted in an interview "Audiences can draw their own conclusions as to why she behaves the way she does, but we didn't want a straightforward medical explanation that would allow audiences to pin her down and simply say: "Ah, that's why she is the way she is." I did study people with Asperger's syndrome, so I was able to build elements of what I'd observed into my characterisation, but this was not a kind of medical case study - that wasn't the kind of programme we were trying to make."

Answer: Porsche

Saga Noren is seen speeding around the city of Malmo in a muddy green colour Porsche, although the model type has never been divulged. It is believed the car used for filming was a 1977 Porsche 911S imported to Sweden from the United States. Television detectives have often had items elevated to cult status. Kojak had a lolly, Columbo had a beige raincoat, Sarah Lund wore an iconic wooly jumper, and Saga Noren drove a classic Porsche.

Answer: A ship veered off course and crashed into the bridge

The first series involved the investigation in to why a woman's body was dumped halfway along the Oresund Bridge. The second series also started with a major event. This time a coaster ship veered off course and smashed into the bridge. Victims from both Sweden and Denmark were found chained below the deck, all of them dead with plague-like symptoms. The series involved a pharmaceutical company and a group of eco-terrorists who tried to infect people with a deadly virus. Police forces from Sweden and Denmark were pulled in to investigate.

Answer: Hollow Talk

"Hollow Talk" was written and sung by Danish band, Choir of Young Believers. The band was the brainchild of Jannis Noya Makrigiannis who wrote and performed songs, either on his own or with other musicians. Josh Groban did a cover version of the song which appeared on his 2013 album "All That Echoes". The song includes the lyrics;

"Echoes start as a cross in you, trembling noises that come to soon.
Spatial movement which seems to you, resonating your mask or feud.
Hollow talking and hollow girl, force it up from the root of pain."

Answer: Diane Kruger

German born Diane Kruger took on the role of Sonya Cross when the series started airing in 2013. Roughly based on the original Nordic version, the American series was filmed around the Texas/American border and followed two detectives who had to work in tandem to solve cross border crimes. Her counterpart from Mexico was Detective Marco Ruiz who was played by actor Demian Bichir. Diana Kruger is known for her film work, appearing in the 2004 blockbusters "Troy" and "National Treasure".
