Billy Gray (b. 1938) played the role of James "Bud" Anderson Jr. in 193 episodes of the series. After "Father Knows Best" he appeared in a number of single-appearance episodes of "Combat", "Rawhide", "Wagon Train" and "Bachelor Father" to name a few. Billy Gray has been a motorcycle enthusiast since 1970 and his home is like a motorcycle museum.

The other members of the Anderson family were: Robert Young (James "Jim" Anderson Sr.), Jane Wyatt (Margaret Anderson), Elinor Donohue (Betty "Princess" Anderson) and Lauren Chapin (Kathy "Kitten" Anderson).

Willy Armitage was the muscle man in the Impossible Mission Force. Peter Lupus (b.1932) at age 75 he broke the world record for endurance lifting for 70 years and over. It was his own record that he beat when he had turned 70. He was type cast as a muscle man and appeared on "The Jack Benny Show" and "The Joey Bishop Show" in muscle man roles. Barney Collier was played by Greg Morris who appeared in all 171 episodes. James Phelps was played by Peter Graves (143 episodes) and Rollin Hand was played by Martin Landau (76 episodes).

Also appearing in 138 episodes were Carl Ballantine (1917-2009) played Lester Gruber and who was not only a comic actor but also a magician. Gary Vinson was George Christopher and Edson Stroll was Virgil Edwards. Also appearing in all 138 episodes were Ernest Borgnine, Joe Flynn, Billy Sands and Yoshio Yoda.

Robert Fuller played the role of Jess Harper in the "Laramie" series. Hoagy Carmichael played Jonesy in the first season and Robert Crawford played Andy Sherman, the younger brother to Slim Sherman (John Smith).
