Salim discovers that both a stake to the heart or exposure to sunlight will quickly kill a vampire. If kept alive long enough, he can later share this information with the other main characters.

Answer: "I feel like our uniforms are getting in the way of what could be a beautiful relationship."

Right from the beginning, Salim has always carried himself as a man who tries to see the right of everyone around him- even those who hold him at gunpoint as Jason and Nick do numerous times. As a result, considering Salim has witnessed the dangers of the vampires up close, he recognizes them as much bigger threats than the Marines and decides to get everyone to join forces to fight the vampires.

Answer: Stubborn and Courageous

Stubborn possibly can be attributed to Salim's persistence at avoiding becoming prejudiced towards certain groups of people, such as how Jason views Iraqis. Salim will always try to see the good in people and reason with them instead of use violence to get his way. On the other hand, courageous likely pertains to Salim's lack of fear in the face of vampires- it's this courageousness that allows him to eventually discover their weaknesses, which ends up being crucial to his potential escape from the underworld.

Answer: Merwin

If Merwin is kept alive and repairs the radio found in the temple, it will be used to call in air support to help the characters escape the underworld. This is problematic for the Into the Sunset achievement, as said air support will also capture Salim and take him as a prisoner, preventing him from returning home to his son and thereby stopping the player from earning this achievement.

If, however, Merwin is killed before the radio is repaired, air support will never arrive. If this happens, once Salim and any other characters with him fight the vampires off at the end of the game, Salim will be able to leave the area to return home to his son, thus granting the player this achievement. Therefore, if the player wants this achievement, they must make sure Merwin is killed before he has the chance to repair the radio.

Answer: Salim will be injured

This doesn't end up mattering for much unless the player wanted to earn the "Ain't Got Time to Bleed" achievement and did not manage to locate Joey's lost medkit earlier in the game. If the player did not find this medkit, choosing to have Salim come to Rachel's rescue will result in the vampire injuring him and preventing the player from earning this achievement. If the player did find the medkit, however, it can be used later in the game to heal this injury, thus making it possible to still earn this achievement.

Answer: He is the oldest character in the game

The claim to the most vampire kills actually belongs to Nick- he attaches explosives to a large cocoon in the vault and completely annihilates the whole thing, causing the demise of thousands of vampires, by far more than anyone else can claim.

While information on length of service for Eric (five years) and Rachel (three years) is readily known, it is not ever known how long Salim himself has served the Iraqi military.

Meanwhile, through the process of exploring Salim's house, the player can find a plate containing a half eaten cake with a wrap around it which, in Arabic, reads "Happy 40th!" and is dated in 2003, the year this game is based in. We later learn that Salim is slightly older than Eric (37) and Rachel (35) while Nick and Jason are both 30 years old themselves. Thus, Salim is the oldest character in the game.

Answer: Put her body into a cocoon

Salim spotted the preserved body of Kurum, who was thousands of years old yet still managed to be alive due to his body being kept alive via being in a cocoon. Salim uses this logic to suggest that Rachel could similarly be kept alive and survive the infection if they manage to locate a cocoon to place her body into. If any characters survive "The Horror" and then decide to return for Rachel, this plan ends up working.

Interestingly, if all characters die during "The Horror" or any surviving ones opt not to return to retrieve Rachel's body, the player will earn the "Lost in Time" achievement, earned by leaving Rachel's body in a cocoon and not retrieving it at anypoint.

Answer: Metal stake

Salim will earn two kills with the metal stake right at the beginning of the game, provided that the player does not mess up any QTEs. Salim can earn a third kill this way if he is still alive during "Enemy of my Enemy", where he impales a vampire who had been attacking Jason.

He earns a fourth kill during "The Horror" as he tries to escape the vault. Finally, the fifth kill comes right at the end of the game, as Salim will kill the first vampire which manages to get into the farmhouse the characters have holed up at.

Answer: Listen to his radio

In addition to the radio, Salim wanted to enjoy a nice bath and celebrate his son's birthday. The bath and radio probably never happened, but at least celebrating his son's birthday could be possible if the player makes certain decisions to let it happen.
