Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Wear green clothes and caps. Protected by tree, fairies. Not allowed to leave.

Answer: Kokiri

The Kokiri are the forest children who live in the Kokiri Forest in "Ocarina of Time" (N64). One Kokiri, Fado, appears in "The Wind Waker" (Gamecube). The Kokiri children wear the green clothes and caps that Link usually wears. Link believed himself to be Kokiri for a time, though he is actually a Hylian. The Kokiri children are guarded by the Great Deku Tree and each are given a fairy for protection. They are not allowed to leave the Kokiri Forest because they will become monsters. What kind of monster is unknown. Many Kokiri, including Saria and Mido, do leave the forest for the Lost Woods from time to time so they may be able to leave the forest for a short time. In the credits for "Ocarina of Time", all of them leave the forest for Lon Lon Ranch.

The producers of the franchise stated in "Hyrule Historia", a book about the history of Hyrule, that the Kokiri do in fact transform when they leave the Kokiri Forest. In "The Wind Waker", the Kokiri Forest no longers exists as it was flooded with the rest of Hyrule, thus the Kokiri evolved into Koroks.
2. Rivals to the Yook. Live in cold, snowy climate. Have reindeer antlers.

Answer: Anouki

Anouki are humanoid-looking people who dress similarly to the Inuit except for their reindeer antlers. In "Phantom Hourglass" (DS), they lived on the Isle of Frost with their rivals the Yook, who were yeti-like people. The Anouki lived in Anouki village in "Spirit Tracks" (DS). The Anouki are honest people unlike the deceiving Yooks.
3. Fantastic diggers. Many are treasure hunters. Ledd, Guld and Tubert.

Answer: Mogma

The Mogma live on Eldin Volcano in "Skyward Sword" (Wii). They are expert diggers and resemble moles or mole people. They are treasure hunters and are very greedy in nature, though most are willing to help Link out. Ledd will give Link the bomb bag. Guld is the Mogma leader. Tubert operates a minigame called Thrill Digger, which is like treasure hunting.
4. Aquatic beings. Have sea and river species. Lord Jabu-Jabu.

Answer: Zora

The Zoras are fish-like people. There are different varieties of Zoras as some live in freshwater and others in salt water. They sometimes look different from game to game. In most games they are a bluish-teal color but in others are a dark green color. Princess Ruto from "Ocarina of Time" is the tradition blue color but Queen Oren from "A Link Between Worlds" (3DS) is green.

The Zora deity is Lord Jabu-Jabu who is a giant whale of some sort. His insides are dungeons in "Ocarina of Time" and "Oracle of Ages" (Game Boy Color).
5. Tearing eye symbol. Red eyes, pointed ears, white hair. Many named Impa.

Answer: Sheikah

The Sheikah are represented by the symbol of a red eye shedding one tear. They often wear it on their clothes and it can also be found in most places and on most things associated with the Sheikah. For the most part, they have the same physical characteristics as Hylians but the Sheikah have white hair and red eyes. Impa is the most frequently appearing Sheikah, though each time she seems to be a different incarnation. Impa is usually depicted as an older woman who is the caretaker of Princess Zelda. However, in "Skyward Sword" she is younger and in "A Link Between Worlds" she has purple hair.

The Sheikah are the sworn protectors of the Hylian Royal Family.
6. All women, mostly. Experts at equestrian. Ganondorf is one.

Answer: Gerudo

The Gerudo are a tribe of desert-dwelling women. They once lived in Kakariko Village, according to "Ocarina of Time" Impa but her people threw them out. A male Gerudo is only born once every 100 years, with Ganondorf being one of them. In "Ocarina of Time", the Gerudo operate an equestrian training center as well as some kind of training grounds. Completing them earns Link a piece of heart and the ice arrows, respectively.

The Gerudo appear in relatively few games as a tribe but many other games feature characters who may or may not be Gerudo. Telma from "Twilight Princess" (Wii) is a prime example. It is speculated in the fan community that since Gerudo are almost entirely women, they must procreate with Hylian males as seen when they kidnap the carpenters. Their offspring could be a Gerudo-Hylian mix.
7. Like a rolling stone. Bomb flower cultivators. Apt sumo wrestlers.

Answer: Goron

Gorons are yellowish-brown people who like to roll themselves up into a ball and roll around Death Mountain. In some games, they will have tattoos. Gorons also grow bomb flowers, plants that produce bombs instead of fruit. In "Twilight Princess", the Gorons shut themselves away from the rest of Hyrule because a fused shadow is causing havoc on Death Mountain. Link needs to prove his strength by defeating a Goron elder at sumo wrestling.
8. Plant or animal? Erla, Oolo and Machi. Faron Woods dwellers.

Answer: Kikwi

The Kikwi look something like chubby raccoons with plant features. Upon seeing one for the first time, Professor Owlan jokes that he does not know if it is a plant of animal. Erla, Oolo and Machi are three of the Kikwi Link encounters in "Skyward Sword". The others are Bucha, Yerbal and Lopsa. They live in Faron Woods and the smaller ones are generally timid and cowardly.
9. Flying bird creatures. Live on Dragon Roost Island. Deliver the mail.

Answer: Rito

The Rito debuted in "Wind Waker". They are the evolved form of the Zora people, according to "Hyrule Historia" as the Zora were forced to abandon their habitat when Hyrule was flooded. They moved to Dragon Roost Island, an isle with a very high mountain. Over time, they learned to fly, which made them adept postman. On Dragon Roost Island, Link can play a mail sorting minigame at the post office.
10. Expert musicians. Can restore the spirit tracks. Sanctuary guards.

Answer: Lokomo

The Lokomo can be found in "Spirit Tracks". They were sent to protect the newly established Hyrule from Malladus. During the game, Link must travel to the various sanctuaries and, with the Lokomo on their instruments, must play a song to restore portions of the spirit tracks that have disappeared. Five of the seven Lokomo in the game are sanctuary guardians, while Anjean protects the Tower of Spirits and Byrne, who is not initially revealed to be a Lokomo, is a servant to the Chancellor Cole, one of the game's main protagonists. All Lokomo except Byrne are short and ride around on some kind of wheeled vehicle.
