Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What character was named after a Sumerian king?

Answer: Gilgamesh

Ahh, Gilgamesh. Perhaps my favorite of all "Final Fantasy" characters. So, he was named after a famous Sumerian king. Interesting fact: in the "Tale of Gilgamesh," which is a story of the king's deeds, Gilgamesh had a friend named Enkidu, and Gilgamesh also has one in "Final Fantasy V." Gilgamesh is also the only character to appear in multiple "Final Fantasy" installments and be the same character throughout.
2. What is the special effect of the Masamune katana?

Answer: 20% critical hit; always strikes first

One of the most recurring weapons in the series is the Masamune, its most famous appearance being Sephiroth's weapon in "Final Fantasy VII". The interesting thing about the Masamune is that it is named after a real Japanese swordsmith.
3. There is only one Chocobo in the entire game.

Answer: False

There are actually a total of six Chocobos in the entire game. There's Boco, Bartz's Chocobo; Coco, a female Chocobo; the Black Chocobo, who you find on Crescent Island; and during the ending sequence, Boco and Coco have three chicks. Although, if you only think of the main game, there are only three.
4. Which of these characters is NOT from "Final Fantasy V"?

Answer: Benjamin

It should be obvious that Bartz and Exdeath are from this game, thus leaving Benjamin and Atomos. Atomos is a required boss. Benjamin was the name of the main character from "Final Fantasy Mystic Quest" for the SNES.
5. What element is Excalibur infused with?

Answer: Holy

Excalibur is another recurring weapon in this game, which can only be equipped by Knights, Gladiators, Freelancers, or anyone with the "Equip Swords" ability. It is also very powerful; the fifth most powerful weapon in the main game, next to the Ragnarok, Murakumo, and the maxed out Chicken Knife and Brave Blade.
6. What is the name of the only ability that you cannot use outside of the Job class that uses it?

Answer: Kick

Kick is a bit of an anomaly amongst the abilities. Despite being automatically equipped on the Monk, you cannot learn it for other Job classes. However, there is an attack in the GBA version that the Gladiator can use called Bladeblitz, which acts similarly. Both of these abilities are essentially the "Attack" command on all enemies.
7. What does the song "Requiem" do?

Answer: Damages undead

Looks like those spoony Bards actually have a use! The "Requiem" song can be learned from one of the werewolf kids in Quelb, and it is a good idea to have for Drakenvale and eventually the Great Sea Trench. It is an amazingly powerful attack, but it only works on undead and nothing else. I recommend using it to get the Golem summon on Drakenvale.
8. Which Job class is the only one that gives positive boosts in all stats in the main game?

Answer: Geomancer

The Geomancer is actually my favorite Job class in the game, because their Gaia ability is incredibly useful, and costs no MP, making it an amazing alternative to magic. It also increases all stats, unlike all the other Jobs. Mystic Knights, despite being able to infuse swords with magic, actually get a minus 1 on their Magic. Chemist gets a minus 4 in that same stat.

However, the Necromancer, despite getting positive boosts in all stats, is unavailable in the main game.
9. Which job class, aside from Freelancer, can equip Ribbons?

Answer: Dancer

While Dancers aren't all that useful in combat, they have the ability to equip Ribbons, which prevent against nearly all status ailments. There are only four Ribbons in the main game, though, one of which you cannot obtain after you finish the area. In the GBA version, however, there is another one if you miss that one. It is the only reason why I say you should level up Dancer.
10. What is the true form of this game's main villain, Exdeath?

Answer: A tree

Crazy as it sounds, Exdeath is a tree. According to the sage Ghido, there was a tree in the Great Forest of Moore that people would seal evil beings in long ago. Eventually, these beings and all their evil condensed into the tree, thus giving form to Exdeath. In the final battle, Exdeath reveals his tree form, but when he is engulfed by the Void, he takes a new form known as Neo Exdeath, representing all of the evil spirits that created him.

*wipes forehead* That's it for this quiz. Took me a long time to make it. This is Gameandwatch15, singing off.
