Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first thing you'll see as you enter the world is the large mansion for which Mad Monster Mansion is named after. How many Jiggies, excluding the Jinjo Jiggy, can you get in the house, without any help from Mumbo?

Answer: Two

Most people would think it's only one and that would be the Jiggy inside Napper. However, there is also a wine cellar that is part of the house, and you can find another Jiggy in there. There are actually four Jiggies, in the house, but the other two you must obtain when Mumbo turns you into a pumpkin.

In order to get the Jiggy from Napper you must enter in through the chimney rather than the front door and make your way across the large chairs and then walk through him to get the Jiggy. If you use the flight pad he was sitting on you can fly to the chandelier for a Golden Banjo. Also don't forget the Mumbo Token in the fire. You can also find one of the extra Honeycomb pieces in the house as the pumpkin in a second story window. So make sure you break all the windows before coming back as the pumpkin.
2. Probably the most common enemies, on the estate are skeletons that will reassemble themselves after a while if you attack them. What are the names of these skeletons?

Answer: Limbo

Limbo is not just a name for a dance where you try to get under a stick. Limbo can also mean between two official states of being. Limbos since they are walking skeletons are not dead nor are they alive so you could say that Limbos are in limbo. Like the question above states if you attack these skeletons with eggs, a rolling attack, or whatever.

They'll fall apart for a few seconds only to reassemble themselves again much like Dry Bones from the Mario series. However, if you use the Wonderwing against them, they will officially pass on.

This same technique works on the green ghosts all over the place.
3. What color is the ghost that circles the playing field in the shed?

Answer: purple

This ghost looks exactly like the other ghost enemies in the world, except for the fact that it is purple rather than green. In the shed is a puzzle where you have to move an oracle named Tumblar around to spell out Banjo Kazooie. Basically the shed is a huge Ouija board, except it only contains the letters for Banjo Kazooie and a lot of red spaces with Gruntilda's face on them. If you hit the purple ghost or accidentally land on a Gruntilda space you will take damage. Once you spell out Banjo Kazooie within the time limit you'll get a Jiggy.
4. Which one of the following is NOT a painting that can be found in Mad Monster Mansion?

Answer: Gruntilda's broomstick

The paintings conceal the same worm enemies in Clanker's Cavern that come out and bite you. However, in this stage when they lunge out of paintings you will see that only half of their flesh is there and you can see their bones. They still make their telltale growls before they lunge out at you.

The regular worm enemies appear in this stage too, when you get flushed down the toilet. Yes it happens in this level. The character from "Banjo-Tooie" is Captain Blackeye who is a pirate. He appears in Jolly Roger's Lagoon. You can see the very top of Gruntilda's lair which is the tower that makes the point of her hat on the exterior. Gruntilda once again shows her narcissism with paintings of herself. Green ghosts also appear in paintings.
5. What is in the room when you jump through the stained glass window with Banjo and Kazooie's face on it?

Answer: eggs and feathers

Yeah there's not too much purpose to go into this room unless you're running low on supplies like if you had trouble getting eggs in the pots or you spent a lot of time flying in the church. You will also find some more "zombie worm" enemies in there. Even though there is no Jiggy in this room, the church itself contains three Jiggies. One can be received by putting eggs in all the pots surrounding the church.

Another one can be obtained by climbing to the top of the church and the last one is actually inside the church.
6. Which of the following can NOT be found inside the church?

Answer: a Jinjo

Contrary to what many people may be thinking, there are three ghosts in the church. There are two green ghosts lurking in the pews and there is the ghostly Motzhand which even though it is just a hand it is still a ghost. You can find a Golden Banjo, behind the pipes of the organ.

The extra honeycomb piece is in the rafters as well as a Limbo, two gold feathers, and the Witch Switch. Facing the organ, there is a flight pad, on the left side near the pipes which is how you get up to the rafters. If you pound the Witch Switch it makes a Jiggy appear in one of the eyes of the Gruntilda likeness in which you entered through the mouth near the entrance to Freezeezy Peak. You have to use the Flight Pad to get it. On the four giant pews you will also be able to get some musical notes and some blue eggs. Motzhand will play a tune on the piano which you must copy as he is playing it. If you wait for him to finish his whole tune he will complain about you being too slow.
7. What do the flower pots around the cemetery say when you put an egg in them?

Answer: Thank you

There's been a controversy surrounding what the flower pots really say, thinking that they say something offensive. However, when questioned about it Rareware said they are saying "Thank you" in a spooky voice. This is the only occurrence in the game where actual words in the English language are spoken by a character without a speech bubble. Mumbo tokens say "Eekum Bokum" or however you spell that when they're picked up.

The cemetery surrounding the church is also home to the enemies that escape from the world when entering it for the first time.

They look like normal tombstones but they're actually alive and even if you can't see it you know one will be after you if you hear it growl and make an uprooting sound. Also the ones outside the world entrance will be lighter in color and about five times larger than the ones around the church.

However, unlike the other ghosties and ghoulies, these can be taken out with three rolling attacks before meeting their demise.
8. It's time for everybody's favorite game show, Where Can't You Find a Jinjo! Here's how the game works. You tell me where you CAN'T find a Jinjo in Mad Monster Mansion! Which of these locations would that be?

Answer: in the well

Surprisingly, three of the five Jinjos are found on or in the mansion. The Green Jinjo is found on top of the mansion. The Pink Jinjo is found in one of the wine caskets in the cellar. The Yellow Jinjo is found on top of a canopy bed in one of the third story windows.

The remaining Jinjos are the Orange and the Blue Jinjo. The Orange Jinjo is the one found in the back corner of the hedge maze, and the Blue Jinjo is found on a platform in a middle of a fountain, that is near the well but is not the well itself.

At the bottom of the well, you will find musical notes, swinging tentacles, and a Jiggy in a bucket. You have to be turned into a pumpkin in order to get the Jiggy, as the hole in the bucket is too big for Banjo in bear form.
9. When Mumbo turns you into a pumpkin, he will joke about turning you into a soup.

Answer: True

Personally, I would prefer pie! He will actually joke about cooking you twice. Near the entrance to the world, you will see a gate. If you break that down as Banjo, you can go down there as a pumpkin and be able to crawl into a small mausoleum at the bottom of the hill.

In here, Mumbo can change you back to a bear and you can Beak Bust a water switch in the sarcophagus that raises the water level that will help you get one step closer to the next level Rusty Bucket Bay. Then when Mumbo turns you back into a pumpkin he'll joke with you once again saying that you're making him hungry and he wants to know where his big pot is.

The pumpkin has the ability to survive in water without having to breathe, including toxic water. He can fit into small spaces, and he can walk on thorns without getting hurt. Also he is carved a little bit as you can see his top bouncing off him when he walks...or bounces. I wonder if Jack-o-Banjo has a candle in him.
10. The pumpkin can access a certain Brentilda near a small entrance in Grunty's liar that only pumpkins can fit into. Which one of the following things is something Brentilda does NOT give you info on?

Answer: what magazine Gruntilda reads

You will actually find out what magazine Gruntilda reads from Brentilda behind the entrance to Gobi's Valley. For my file, she reads Fat Hag Monthly. She also has dirty undies hanging from her ceiling, which are spotty purple and she has an eyeball flower growing next to her bed. Isn't Gruntilda just a charming woman? All of Mumbo's transformations that you pay him for, except for the walrus, usually have some task to do in Gruntilda's lair.

The termite can get the Jiggy from the Witch Switch in Mumbo's Mountain and the crocodile can get to Cheato and double your capacity of blue eggs you can carry. Without a doubt though the pumpkin transformation can do the most.

The pumpkin transformation allows you to raise the water level in the room containing Rusty Bucket Bay, as stated earlier.

But if you go back into the room where you found the Gobi's Valley picture, you can walk along a winding, narrow path. Take your time with this as it is very easy to fall, into whatever that red stuff is at the bottom. I'm guessing lava.

At the end of the path you can get that special info from Brentilda. I suppose Kazooie could cross using the Talon Trot, or Banjo could if you're really careful. However, there's one more reason why it's just better to use the pumpkin to get over there. There's a small hole next to Brentilda, and if you've been doing everything thus far, at the end of this hole you'll find Cheato for the second time. This time Cheato will allow you to spell RedFeathers in the Treasure Trove sandcastle and allow you to carry 100 Red Feathers.
